As if V&A museum wasn't cool enough! It's just absolutely incredible how you work with the audience nowadays: quizes in instagram stories and exciting facts in posts, fabulous videos here on youtube -- nothing is boring when it comes to your content. And now -- ASMR. I absolutely adore you, guys. Please kiss your PR department from me (a social approved distant kiss, of course).
this was a brilliant idea, but the presenter was especially amazing in both her passionate yet reserved narration and handling the objects in a VERY ORGANIC manner. I feel too many people (myself included) fail at creating an organic ASMR experience because we forget the fluid, narrative element to exploring objects when we artificially tap and touch them excessively.
Clothes sounds are my favorite asmr, and I love history podcasts. This combination is perfect! If you continue to do these, furniture would also be grand. Brushing upholstery, exploring detailed carvings, opening little drawers and shelves etc.
@@Rmxpaola I am late but my favorite is: Stories, A history of Appalachia. The two gentlemen who do the podcast have wonderful personalities and voices. Did you find any that you liked?
This woman is my favourite out of all the videos. Her touch to those objects ❤️ I don’t know if she watches asmr but she seems to have a great ear for it.
I agree ..she has a wonderful soft voice that is completely mesmerising .....and it’s her favourite costume ...so interesting to hear the information ....
The video I’ve been waiting for I need all the conservation channels to participate cause they do it unintentionally and it’s why I’m unintentionally educated on the conservation of artifacts
This is my favorite one from the series so far! It’s got all of the great tingly sounds, she has a great voice for ASMR, and it’s like an “unboxing” video as well! I love how she understood the assignment and gave us amazing sounds, but also is so informative! Would love to see more from her and her department!
I have seen this video many, many times. This, by far, is one of the best ASMR versions of the V&A ASMR collection. I wish there were more with this commentator - she has a lovely voice, and I love how she explains the history and how things work and feel. I hope Julie Bower bring more unpacking and packing videos - or taps this conservator more!
This is great! Museum curators and people in charge of restorations seem to be well suited to ASMR due to the delicate handling of objects, even the Schiaparelli video has an unintentional ASMR vibe. You picked interesting items objects to show, and this format allows people to see more details than they might notice in a museum exhibition. Hope we get to see more! :)
Wonderful idea to focus on sound. As a conservator myself, I know that an important part of the sensory input that informs our understanding of the physical reality of an object comes from sound. I do wish I could hear what she says a little better, though.
Bravo V&A Museum for your marketing genius. I am a serious ASMR lover and I have a love of history. You have combined my two favorites and I am excited to visit you next year on holiday!
Iv trained and worked as a C ostumier doing everything from tailoring dressmaking alterations both ladies and gents and hat making so much goes into milenary so many processes you have to be very strong handed with hats they were built to last xxx thanku 4 this must visit v and a after lockdown xxxx
This video is perfect! I listen to so much ASMR, I rarely get tingles anymore, but this video never fails! The unboxing and paper sounds are perfect! More ASMR videos like this are definitely needed!! These costumes are so amazing. Would love to visit one day.
I was looking up ASMR to see what it was while watching this. As I read the Wikipedia article I was feeling it. And that was over conventional loudspeakers. Particularly enjoyable (on another level) because you've featured Irving's Mephistopheles costume.
Such cool facts about the glasses! Never would have thought of that. Makes one wonder how else different aids can be incorporated into the art itself. Thanks for taking the time to make videos like these 💗
This is a WONDERFUL idea! Education in asmr. Better still,, HISTORY and ARTIFACTS in asmr. I am sooo hooked. As if I needed 1 more reason to love the V&A😏 I've been binge watching Baumgartner Restoration for my tingling history fix, nice to add this to my repertoire. Congratulations Julie Rose Bower, this was a hit!☆
This was great, very interesting. My only suggestion would be if you could write in the title what this is about (Charlie Chaplin’s hat & Henry Irving’s costume) since some people may be interested in these but not necessarily in the ASMR part. It’d be a shame to miss out on such great content.
Such wonderful idea. I used to watch V&A videos previously for their ASMR effect and because they were so interesting. Now that they’re really leaning into this I hope it provides the much needed funding I’m sure they lost during the pandemic.
Does anyone know the archive numbers for the Mephistopheles' costume pieces? I managed to find a cap he wore with this ensemble but can't find the glove or hood.
OMG V&A need to have Maria as a special guest to help them inbox items!!!!!! It could show us the items but teach how to handle and examine artifacts!!!!!
Wow surprising amount of hate comments and people in the comments claiming to be better experts. If you don’t like ASMR move on. It’s only about 3 videos on their large channel.
I don't care about th ASMR, I'm honoured to see those items up close and I'm deathly jealous of the person who got to hold them I do question the authenticity of that hat, however, as in all of Chaplin's films he uses a soft hat that can be crushed and popped back out again. Also, the stiffness, air vents and inside drawstring make it seem more equestrian than day wear.
Had to stop the video when Henry Irving's shoes were examined. I remembered a song by the group "Traffic: called "The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys;" gave it a listen...believe me, the song wasn't about Irving's shoes.

got major tingles on the Invisible glasses part
This is such a sweet and well-worded comment

Give them one from me too. I love this channel so much. Asmr AND historical artifacts..nothing could be better

Great observations from someone I consider one of the best artists out there!!! Big fan!
wooow please, please, please make this a really common theme on your channel. This sounds amazing and you also educate the public!!
Yes, I second that! What a wonderful series!
Yes, please!
Please please!
The “special effects” worked into these early costumes are incredible!!

What are some good history podcasts 😊?
Ooh yh that would be amazing

her accent! I can't pin it but I adore it.

Wow, the privilege of holding the very bowler hat that Charlie Chaplin wore. Just amazing to literally hold history in your hands.
I feel so relaxed and educated at the moment.

Really enjoyed this. Immersive. Much more than a regular "show & tell." Hope to see more ASMR videos in the future.

Ms Lesger and Ms Bower did an excellent job. So relaxing 😌
The ultimate ASMR sounds video. It doesn’t get better!
The Chaplin biopic brought me back to this video. Enjoyed watching again! 💜
Please post more of these! It sounds amazing and educational at the same time. Great ASMR video.
The royality of ASMR
The V&A and ASMR! Two of my favourite things in one video!

love love love this - thanks V and A!
Great content and love the concept of using ASMR to showcase these amazing objects - Excellent work!!
This was lovely. Something about “feeling” Chaplin’ actual hat gave it something extra.
I wish I’d been recommended it years ago!
Now this is a treat. Post the other one :D
This is just beautiful how they have all this beautiful things from the past
Just breath taking❤❤❤❤
The best job on Earth!
Amazing thank you

Preparing for watch an asmr video, boom! Chaplin's hat shows up!
Thank you, now i am hooked. I need a weekly dose of this please.

The special effects she was talking about in Faust sounded both impressive and highly dangerous.

I can’t place her accent. It sounds like Dutch mixed with Irish. Any ideas?
I also got a bit of Dutch. Maybe learned English in Ireland or America?
I found her profile on LinkedIn and it confirms her native language is Dutch!
Icelandic?
How tall was he
I’ve concluded that it’s not talent that’s so important in costume restoration, it’s tissue paper.
😂 lmao
