Existence is suffering only when you have the goal to be "happy forever" after something. If you're an American, the chances are about 1 in 430,000. If you have attended Harvard university, the chances are about 1 in 1800. One of the more crazier things is that, since Harvard has an acceptance rate of about 4%, you have a chance of 1 in 44,600 to become a billionaire if you're an American highschooler. You are more likely to become a billionaire if you're a highschooler than you are likely to be eaten by sharks.
Obviously correlation does not imply causation. Getting into Harvard for a philosophy degree worsens your chances of becoming a billionaire than you DROPPING OUT of Harvard, so yeah, these stats can be manipulated in whichever way to paint very different pictures based on the context.

9:55 well, I might be of those few who actually consider "being born" not a an achievement but a stroke of bad luck. Nevermind being rich, famous, lucky or anything else. I'm just fed up with life and it seems that it gets worst as days go by. No matter how hard I try to build my castles of sand, every time I move one step away away to admire the progress a wave of bad luck crushes it..
It is difficult to walk in others people's shoes when they don't fit you.

I recently watched this video about depression, a spoken word/rap that was amazingly written and produced. If you're interested, it's If Depression Was A Person, by Prince EA. Also, it's never embarrassing to ask for help if you need it. Please don't make any permanent decisions because of temporary problems. You're worth the struggle to find meaning and happiness in life. You being born was lucky. You being born was special, because you're special. I hope that one day you realize that💙 Have a good day/night.

The odds of dying to a vending machine are much higher than dying to a shark because of how frequently we are with vending machines. If encounters with a vending machine were just as rare as encounters with sharks, the odds of dying to sharks would be much greater than dying to a vending machine. That’s not to say that sharks are these big scary monsters as the film industry would lead you to believe.

I would argue that the odds of everything, on the grandest of scales, are irrelevant. Determinism dictates that everything that happens in the universe could be calculated from the beginning (the Big Bang). Therefore there isn’t such thing as randomness or free will, as these things all have dominoed from the origin of the universe.

Not a hater but the odds part was kind of inaccurate, like think about it,
the odds that you'll be killed by a shark is low because the odds that you'll encounter one is low.
the odds of getting killed by a dog is comparatively high coz you're more likely to encounter one. so it doesn't really portray a clear picture.
