Audio issues. This had a stellar plot, originally.
He's describing to her all the ways he could take her in a fight, whichever environment they visit. We get the ending when she's finally had enough of his BS.
An underappreciated part of this sketch is the line "It is beautiful this time of year" juxtaposed with the yellow grass, gray sky, and sprawling suburbia. Never change, Joel.
Huh? What are you even talking about? Autumn is by far the best time of year, and overcast days are my favourite kind of day.

I appreciate the high-framerate camera so every shot can have that dreamy sensation. It feels like Tiana's zoning out from all the crackhead energy on display, but is still content to keep Joel company as he relives his (traumatically) wonderful childhood experiences.

You can't think of the baseball dugout story? On July 4th between your 7th and 8th grade years the entire Wackerbarth's Dry Cleaning little league team tied you to one of the support columns and practiced throwing their fastballs at your head for two hours. The whole time, Coach Logey, who was Erik's dad, kept shouting "C'mon, boys! Slowest pitcher gets a swirlie from Joel!" You don't remember because of all the, you know, massive head trauma.
Ah the bleechers. I remember watching someone try to pick up girls there by pretending to be a worm. It didnt work out because worms are gross
Man, to think that one of those McNeely boys disguised themselves as a woman, traveled across the country, slowly worked their way into your social circle and starred in your short films, just so when you took them back home they could get one over on you at the dugout. Classic.
This video made me feel fuzzy and tingly. Kinda like my fingertips and other extremities after a good long headlock. Thanks Joel!

How does this man do it? Seemingly filled with genius original sketch ideas. Always a memory waiting to be had anywhere at any time. Dang Lacrosse boys!
It seems his secret is just brutal honesty. I think many people have this embarrassing nostalgia for the place where they spent their childhood and fantasize about sharing and showing it off to others, but we know it is a silly, childish impulse and we keep it secret. Many of Haver's sketches are about digging up such stuff that we bury deep inside and putting them on display.
I think that is also one of the root sources for bullying. People see others indulge a little more in those embarrassing impulses than they do themselves. That makes them resentful and they feel the urge to lash out.
Haver could be a bully. He might just make fun of people who are that awkward and dorky instead of poking fun of his own silliness. I don't know.

American landscapes give me chills. All that space, buildings surrounded by parking lots, houses that look made of paper and at ground level. I know for someone used to they will se a gorgeous field, but all I see it´s a dead forest in the chillest zone of purgatory.

Everyone in our town just calls it our “town,” but fancy Joel over here calls it his “stomping ground.” Everywhere he goes we see him stomp, this way and that, just stomping along.

I can remember a few dark skits, namely, the cuck one. It was kinda funny though, so it evens out. (Also the one where the characters are aware they're in a skit)

I graduated just down the road and across the river from you. I knew those particular trees in the distance looked familiar as well as those clouds. I can't help but recollect some of the same feelings of nostalgia as I explore my own old stomping grounds, and indeed, it looks quite beautiful this time of year.

I love that I can also feel the nostalgia for all of these locations, since I recognize most of them from older Joel Haver videos.
This is probably the highest profile film that has ever come out of Belchertown. Which makes me feel pretty low about my own career as an actor, which consisted of only two movies that were both filmed in and around Belchertown.
School bullies - we complained about them at the time but now we look back fondly at those memories.
