Dr Bob brings you SCP Foundation Euclid Class object, SCP-4959 - Teotihuacan Pterodactylactery Animation.
SCP 4959 is an animate, decomposed pterosaur occupying a large stone chamber underneath the Temple of the Feathered Serpent in Teotihuacan, Mexico. Foundation paleontologists have determined that the SCP4959 anomaly is an abnormally large azhdarchid pterosaur, related to Quetzalcoatlus or possibly Hatzegopteryx.

The thing about its body containing iridium is quite a neat detail since the earth has a thin layer of iridium in it that was deposited by the asteroid which wiped out the dinosaurs and pterosaurs when it struck.

they were both bad ass just because she was a woman who attacked doesn't make her better then the explorer as most you are implying, He tried to save her but couldn't and she had escaped and saved him by luck, same goes for the guy they both equally were brave enough to try and help each other survive and Not get themselves killed.
Theory: Dr. Bob is immortal, like dr bright, and thus cannot be killed by anything. This would explain how he can survive any close encounter with SCPs at the end of his videos.

One thing that immediately caught my attention was when the explorer concluded that it has to be some kind of ritualistic garb. Alot of ancient things discovered may not be what we assume they were and are.

The thumbnail made me think I'd get a happy ending, too. It was very promising, I was instantly interested in seeing it the whole way through, twice.
The one who wrote this SCP is smart, people name one of the biggest flying dinosaur as one of the Latin American Ancient deities, which exist in all of Latin America ancient religion, the Winged Serpent.

Also Teotihuacan is in de middle of a city... Not particularly hard to reach or in the middle of a jungle. And most "pyramids" in Mexico have nothing inside, there are no hallways nor halls as they are not hollow

@@atzamgd6795 I’m pretty sure that the former city is actually Aztec as it was the capital of the empire. It was even to my knowledge where the first attack on Aztecs took place from the Spanish.

This channel has far and away the best SCP content. I have to assume either most of the fans out there are unaware of this channel due to the sea of other ones, or, and I'm not being dismissive here it's an actual explainable theory, it's mostly kids and young teens who watch the other ones and make up their larger fanbase since they tend to just explain the anomalies, and not craft a storyline which would scare them too badly. Me though, I like being introduced to them in their element. And that's where this channel excels. Deserves at least 1 million subs, just makes no damn sense to me.
If the stone is giving the entity immortality, could Dr. Bright's amulet be a shard from it?
@@Snaking_Gamer Being that it would be a shard under this hypothetical it could be a vastly reduced version of its original ability. Perhaps 4959 had its soul bound to the much larger version and when that was introduced to a sacrificed body it not only imprinted a copy of its soul but a scaled down copy of its form which is where the smaller versions come from.

the use of the real-world location of Teotihuacan really adds to the immersion of this story
The fact you actually used Quetzalcoatlus (or some form of Azhdarchid) for the reference for the pterosaur parts of the anomalies is some extreme attention to context and detail for this SCP. I tip my hat to you, good sir.

I thought the Zombie Dinosaur would be more like the Mad Argentinosaurus from Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal, but as an SCP, this one is more unpredictable.

Theory: Dr. Bob is a secretive SCP who can take form of a human being but still stay living even around keter scps
I think that when it was Flesh and blood, SCP-4959 was actually a Quetzalcoatlus. That’s a Cretaceous period Pterosaur, with a wingspan of well over 40 feet, making it the largest ever discovered. It’s in fact named after the Feathered serpent deity for which the temple was built in tribute.

I think the temple itself is technically an anomaly with spacially being anomalous due to how much room there is in the huge room, we saw the beak was at least half the size of the temple if not more, as there are also smaller tunnels nearby, if that was accurate the turn else would constantly collide into the huge chamber, as the ceiling was also too high than depicted in previous scenes, that is my though, perhaps SCP-4959-B

For a minute there, I thought the both of them would make it out alive since an scp encounter usually lead to death.
I absolutely love your videos and the quality and heart you put into them is a tier above all others (I especially liked the unsettling sound effects of the eating in this one)
I wanted to ask is there a chance you can do some of the more complex SCPs (the less one-dimensional ones with some more mystery)? Series 1-esque skips are fun and I appreciate that you have respect for the original articles and never overstep by misinterpreting, but I think you'd be more than capable to do videos on more nuanced SCPs if you wanted to

Dr Bob said the pterosaur contained a high amount of iridium, (a mineral in the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs). So my theory is that SCP 4959 was killed along with the dinosaurs at the end of the cretatous period, and was later resurrected by an unknown anomalous force.
Sounds like a really great final boss for a dnd campaign

Theory: 4959-a is related or is 4975 (times up) they have a whole lot of similarities. They both have green eyes, they have similar beaks, they look like the same shape, but 4975 has regained flesh somehow.
