Thank you SO much for this video! Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by these sort of transformation dresses, but I never thought I would understand them enough to make my own. With this wonderful source of information I in fact might...
super exciting to see this dress. i really liked how indept it was, ive tried watching another video on transformation dresses but each one left a step and just explained how it was sone. it's easier for me to see it and not be told how to. This one was so much better in explaining the process and now When I redo my christine dae dress I can use this as a reference on how to made a transformation gown instead of trying to hide an entire gown underneath a velvet cloak while struggling to conceal everything and secretly holding the skirt up so all thats seen is a false skirt lol. this version looks less complicated.
Hi there, great tutorial, but I'm having trouble figuring out what happens to the end of the fishing line. One end attatched to the washer, but what about the other end? please help!
I need to make a breakaway dress where an entire poofy-ish dress comes off revealing a form fitting gown underneath. I’m thinking I can do this from shoulder to floor? But can. Reverse engineer so washers are at the top of the dress so my actor doesn’t have to squat or bend down to pull the fishing line? Hoping the basting stitches will keep the dress together at the bottom
Oh gosh I didn’t think of that. I think I’ll need to do a bodice And a skirt separately for that reason since this is a high schooler and not a super tall person.
you made the magic happen :)
so beautiful! hank you for sharing
Thank you! It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it!

It's sewn with a basting stitch into the fabric at the shoulder, but not knotted, so you can still pull it out.
Thanks so much.@@PocketFullofPoseys
wow! gorgeous! it makes me want to make my own cinderella gown
Thank you! Go for it!

@@sherrybrowne4403 I think that could work as long as the fishing line isn't longer than her arms so she pull it all the way out.
