I did, and I also asked a question in hopes of eventual information on the matter. 🥰
My first black Zippo can is almost dry, so I can't really compare. But I saw Zippo cans printed with "low odor", and I am not quite sure what that is about, since other black Zippo cans are not having that printed on them. That's also what my question from my first comment is about. 🙂

I noticed one of you is using the premium version of this, and from the comments on Amazon, it matters.

Awesome to hear ZF77 again. Like the video and cannot wait for you to get a thousand subs so we all can start doing the live streams again. I think you two working together is a good match. Keep the videos coming.

I use Ronsonol in my 30 yr old zippo. Prior to using ronsonol, I used to use any cheaper brand that the shops had available at the time. But It wasnt until i got a bottle of ronsonol that i realised how nasty the cheap fuels were? Inconsistent lighting, Popping pulsating flame, flame shrinking and going out etc. Filled it with ronsonol and i couldn't believe the huge difference. It lights first time, the flame is perfect in every way, and it smells much nicer than the cheap fuels I was using😊

I never inhale that first puff, never did, never will. But that's me. 🙂 Even before I got me a Zippe a couple of months ago. 😅
I make like a short puff puff, instead of a long inhale at ignition.

The problem outside of the US is sourcing. I am in Bangkok. The 135ml small can of Zippo fluid is around 3.45 USD. The Ronsonol 355ml (12ounce) is around 3.30 USD. So the pricing is unreal considering they almost burn the same time.
I use Ronsonol and 'broccoli' to smoke and I would not complain about bad taste. Zippo is surely cleaner taste. But I would waste a lot of money to buy expensive fuel for an EDC Zippo that makes no sense for me.
Also the big can of Zippo Fluid is not even imported here. We have small cans only. Zippo should come up with a giant can. Like 1 liter. Ronsonol is available in big and small cans.

Okay, so I’m not saying this to be dismissive of your experiences with both fuels, but I carry a ‘43 black crackle daily, and it gets filled with whatever brand’s bottle’s closer when I need it. They do smell a bit different, but I’ve honestly never noticed a difference in efficacy, the ability to burn cleaner, or one fuel evaporating out of the lighter quicker than the other.
Again, not trying to invalidate the views of you, ZippoFanatic, or anyone else who has an opinion about this. I do, however, think the differences are, at the very least, slightly exaggerated.
Anywho, big fan of you both.

How long does the Ronsonol typically last in your lighter? I have one but normally only use it when I’m lighting fireworks, so after a little while afterwards it’s all evaporated out

So y'all are sharing the channel? Hell, I'll take it. Still hoping he gets his channel back. Anyways, I've always only used zippo brand fuel so I can't compare. However, I was in a pinch last night and had to use a Chinese flint (seller sent some with my zorro lighter awhile back) vs zippo brand that I only use. Absolute junk. 2 or 3 strikes to make a spark and dirty af. 1st thing this morning it was back to zippo flints. Have a zippo? I say always use zippo brand everything. Except for packing. Japanese silver pure organic cotton is awesome compared to rayon balls. Let's get this to 1000 asap

I got 450 flints for $11 dollars on Amazon, and will never need to buy flints again, and a gallon of naptha, my zippo will run for years even during the apocalypse. The flints strick good but they dirty up the chimney tho

Great review! Being from PA, I remember it being in the news, when Zippo bought Ronson. Ronson went bankrupt and Zippo aquired them. The main purpose for Zippo aquiring Ronson was to offer a lower cost aternative to consumers that weren't willing to pay Zippo brand prices. If I remember correctly. Agree, Zippo brand is definately better, as it should be! Being that Zippo is considered a premium brand in lighters. As my grandfather always said, you usually get what you pay for with most products. There aren't many products that are bargain priced that last. Just look at clothing! When fabric and clothes were Made in North Carolina and Virginia, they last nearly forever. Today, the Asian made clothing is mostly garbage!

Zippo was always inferior to Ronson back in the true heyday of lighters. This Zippos fanatic BS is just that, BS. Zippo has had one basic lighter design in 90 years. Ronson used to make ART. Sadly, cheap arse BIC lighters eventually put them out of business as they catered mostly to the middle class and people are cheap. I own a dozen Zippos. I own over 75 Ronsons, but only one newer than 1957. If you want high-end, Dunhill (although I wouldn't buy current Dunhill as they purposely made them worse quality to make them impossible to work on yourself) and ST Dupont are the way to go. But if you want a table lighter that is a piece of artwork, vintage Ronson is the way to go. A Ronson Waldorf, Nordic or Decanter is just so classy. A Zippo on a stand is still just a Zippo.

Hello, I am about to order a second Zippo lighter fluid can, and I have noticed some say "low odor" and some don't. Can you tell me what this is about please? 😱
I took to Reddit already, but I was hoping another Zippofanatic could provide me with an additional take / additional information and/or confirmation.

I could note agree more… there is no way these two fuels are the same. Zippo is far cleaner burning. The Ronsonol has always had that kerosene smell and awful taste, making it an especially bad choice for a tobacco pipe smoker or cigar smoker.
I do get the Ronsonol when on sales to use in my Zippo Hand Warmers, but it NEVER is used in any of my Zippo lighters, except for one I carry to start the fireplace or campfire.

Admit it! You only put Ronsonol in your WW2 era Zippo to make it more rugged and rustic / old.
At least that would have been my reason. "Here, this is what you know old pal."
