AIM is very negative minded person esp on anything related to India thus he has a habit of putting down GOI , Indian military, govt system, ministers, roads, town planning , economic policies etc.

It is worth listening to AIM but you'll have to balance out his opinions. He forgets the anchors and nuances and exaggerates the situation sometimes.

It's not the ministers it's the bureaucracy that runs the govt per se that is not well versed in English. Just look at the grammatical errors in any sarkari document.. I recently read a maharashtra state document and there were just so many errors I was unpleasantly surprised how it was even put out! Just passing upsc or state board exam does not mean that are capable of understanding nuances or even making well researched and educated decisions! AIM is absolutely right on the money with this!
I think, it is not about the language but the content and investment in instituitional set ups to anticipate and proactively prepare and dissiminate these anti India forces with proper scholarship. Wgen someone like me who is not an expert in External affairs feels that the type of question posed to Modi is completrly irrelevant to the occassion and also the response of Modiji has further disappointed me. Midiji instead of taking the journalist for task for asking an irrelevant and also against the spirit of soveriegnity of India, he tried to give an explanation. All the statistical data is there to quote how minorities are being pampered and being treated more than equals.
Chinese with lesser English comprehension of English generally manages better than India. The real reason is the mindset in the Government that turns out to be dismissive than reactive. It matters that in many places they needed to respond effectively to diffuse the fiction.

Thank you very much to both of you. Abhijit is outstanding and his knowledge along with his interpretation of world affairs is highly educational. I wish BJP would take his comments on board, it is surprising that they are so poor in PR and so abysmal in engaging the public in proposed reforms. Witness the appalling presentation of the Farmer’s laws which they ended up withdrawing, they should learn from Kejriwal who is the opposite, he does bugger all but puts up enough posters and ads to fool the public. BJP needs good English speakers as well to engage the southern population and become a pan-India party rather than just in the Hindi belt. No point talking incessantly on TV channels when half the country doesn’t understand the nuances of high flown Hindi which is what BJP netas are so fond of. I speak and write Hindi, Tamil, English and understand Sanskrit but I find BJP netas (or even other politicians) very annoying when they speak Hindi. They forget the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid) which would be immensely helpful to them if they speak rural or desi Hindi and also get some good orators who can give speeches in English. The South is quite cosmopolitan but BJP needs to engage the people of the South, otherwise regional parties play the language card. Rant over!!

See here's the crux of the situation in India . India will never majorly be an English speaking country, having the sensibilities , the understanding and the mannerisms of a typical English speaking country and that is how it should be . No matter how many intellectuals parrot incomprehensible words like - "Indian English " , India will remain a primarily Hindi / other language speaking society - just like China . Therefore this expectation that Indians or the Indian Government should "express themselves " better in English is futile .
We should just publish in Hindi/Bengali/Tamil/Kannada etc and provide a translation in English . Let the english speakers in the west figure out what we mean. This is how it should be. We should not have to change our thinking to suit westerners.
Not speaking but majorly English understanding country that dwarfs any other. English is just another Indian language. It's a medium of communication. Don't read anything more into it than that.

You should never trust his analysis, 9 out of his 10 points will be wrong and even the 1 point will only maybe partially right. He is always extremely pessimistic regarding Bharat's rise, one can listen to him only for hearing a different perspective.

We all have two accents, one for the Hindustani bhaiyas that we learnt in our schools in India, the Indian English ( loved and used in default mode in India and hated in UK) and then the English or American accent learnt and imitated abroad to make it easier for our western friends to understand our English.

Your channel is trying to get experts to talk on key policy issues and political news. When newsmen like AIM are given the task of being Subject Matter Experts, their own need to be popular with their followers interferes. AIM has a compulsive need to be clever & smart in every thing he says. He wrote off the EAM early on and is finding it difficult to backtrack. The historicity of Muslims exceptionalism in India is too complex to be cleverly explained away. His pronouncements on strategic policies appear shallow. If this man spends at least two hours a day for podcasts etc. then his think and read time will be very low. Problem with the genuine experts in the other hand is that they are not very good communicators. In these days of uber-specialty you shd get scholars in the respective subjects to be interviewed.
What about kashmiri minorities (hindus, sikhs, buddhists), what about pakistani minorities, what about bangladeshi minorities? If other religions have right to their own nation then we have right to hindu nation as well.
