      Apparently you dont understand what it is like when your at camp 4 and its all you can do is survive. This isn't camping at your favorite lake. I was at base camp and before you are completely acclimated it takes you 20 minutes just to put your boots on. At the altitude of camp 4 you have zero spare energy for cleaning up camp. If you expend your energy cleaning you may not have energy to get down off the mountain. Most people die on the way down after summiting. Im not condoning the trash, i hate it just as much as everyone else, i just know reality doesn't allow much cleaning of the mountain. As in other comments, the majority of the trash is from people who did not survive and no one else has the energy to do anything about it. Its sad yes, but that is the reality.

      @@brandonsmith4367 I'm afraid that's just a crappy attitude to have, go up the mountain, conquer it and leave all your crap up there for others to deal with!
      People who litter fishing lakes actually use the same excuses, even when there are litter bins around the lake, they can't seem to be bothered to make that 50 yard journey to the nearest bin and just dump it on the bank, perhaps they're also too tired after a hard day's fishing lol or just plain lazy and out of shape!😯
      Imagine the summit in decades to come, it will be like a council waste dump!
      If climbers haven't got the energy to do their own boots up or bring down some of their crap, I don't think they should be going up in the first place! 🤔😯
      All they literally have to do is bag it up, tie a rope to it, clip it on their belt and gravity will do all the hard work!! 👍😎😊

    • @thefrogggy100
      @thefrogggy100 2 года назад

      @@pdtech4524 Im not saying that trash shouldnt be cleaned up here. But you really dont understand. At the camp, there’s a lot less oxygen in the air. It makes you weaker, slower, and not as good as conscious decisions. It also costs about $20,000 dollars to even attempt a summit climb, and you risk dying or giving up if you clean up the trash. Its not as easy as you make it out to be. They’re already carrying more than 20 pounds on their back. And going down the mountain is the hardest part.
      Edit: I reread your comment and you are an idiot. There aren’t waste bins up on Mt. Everest. You cant compare it to a fishing lake. Its a place that actively kills humans every second they are in it. Plus i dont think they have spare bags.

      Tenzi Sherpa I contacted one of my friends who is a professional balloon pilot and will see what she says is possible. I have been an Everest fan since I was in high school before and when Jim Whitaker made his ascent; that was quite a feat compared to today’s advanced route preparations for all the ‘climbers’. This would be a world mountaineering supported project if it is possible.

    • @paulbergman8228
      @paulbergman8228 4 года назад +2

      Tenzi Sherpa Hi, I have talked to my friend that is a balloon pilot and balloon instructor; she said it is possible. It would take about 9 lbs (approximately 4.5 kilos) of helium in a cylinder to inflate a balloon that would lift roughly 60 lbs (30 kilos) with neutral buoyancy, i.e., it would not float up, but have no weight to the person controlling the balloon. The question we are trying to figure out is how the change in altitude on the descent would affect the buoyancy of the load. Does the pressure need to be released, or is more helium pressure needed for that same neutral buoyancy at a lower altitude as the climber pulls the loaded balloon down to an altitude that a helicopter can then pick up the net full of trash? Is there an automatic valve that would adjust the balloon pressure? These are the keys to creating a successful mission using this method. 😎🎈

      Yes this is important. It's easy to say this is just people not cleaning up after themselves, but in reality most of these tents were probably slept in by people who never made it back to them. Keep in mind that this call is literally in the DEATH ZONE. Human life can't be sustained there for long, and hauling trash off the mountain is extremely difficult and dangerous. It's still sad to see, but people don't seem to understand the insane conditions of this location.

    They need to restrict the kinds of food and drink products allowed up there. I've thought for years that anything other than personal storage containers should not be allowed. There are pouches for every kind of liquid, and containers for every kind of food. Paper products and plastic bottles, things with wrappers etc. should be eliminated somehow.
