Wintersun is finnish metal band and Jari Mäenpää (guitar) is mastermind behind the band. Wintersun started as his soloproject while he was still playing in Ensiferum. Totally agree, Loneliness is amazing and sends chills through my spine. It's one of those "not the first songs that come to mind" with Wintersun, but totally unique and incredible.

The frontman Jari is basically the Tuomas of this band, composes everything, but also plays everything except the drums on the recordings. I'm sure you had to notice who the drummer was, and the bassist is harder to recognize here, but he's also currently with Nightwish.
I absolutely love this TIME! Jari's voice is full of grief which pierces my heart and soul. This song is a true masterpiece. And Kai in drums - he is a whipper!! (now in Nightwish).Teemu in guitar is amazing phenomenal virtuoso. And Jukka in bass also now in Nightwish replacing Marco Hietala. Great great music. Master musicians.❤♦️
I have made a request for this band and song several times. Great that you finally did it. Here in Finland are masses of great metal bands to discover. This particular song is breaking my heart every time. It is a masterpiece!

Just do the rest of the live rehearsals, then you can start in on The Forest Seasons if you want. Just don't do Loneliness first, it's a fan favorite and will get recommended, but it's the last song on the album, and it's a concept record. It's a great song, they all are, but it doesn't hit the same if you don't hear Eternal Darkness first.

Because WS bassist Jukka Koskinen joined NW as a session player, after Marco left the band, last year and joined as a member this year. Drummer Kai Hahto is also in NW these days. He joined the band when Jukka Nevalainen left the drummer's part. By all means, thank you for your amazing reaction to this song🤩 . Most of their songs are like this, although this one is special.
