In other words, 1990 still had the look and feel of the 1980s. Everything doesn't suddenly change on January 1. There's always some overlap when an old decade rolls into a new one -- for example, the 1990 Schwarzenegger movie _Total Recall_ and the Poison song "Unskinny Bop" from the same year, both of which have a definite '80s feel. George H.W. Bush, elected in 1988, was still the president of the U.S. in 1990. Meanwhile, Nirvana's first album didn't come out until late 1991. Although he may not have had much of an overall career, Goodfellas and Field of Dreams are more than enough to cement his status as a legend in Hollywood. Robert de Niro is a given and obvious, and Joe Pesci too (Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino, My Cousin Vinny) once again--more than enough to cement his status.
Goodfellas is one of those movies I can watch comfortably even if I've missed the first half. It's about as close to perfection as it gets. Up with the first two Godfathers, within and without the subject matter.
You know everybody makes such a big deal out of The Godfather, but I'm one of those people who, if given the choice between watching the two, I'd pick Goodfellas every time.
Copland should've gotten a bunch of awards (or at least nominations). But it wasn't pushed by a studio and the director wasn't a name. Oscar politics sadly won out.
@@boxmad5523 Yes! Narc and Copland were excellent films and Liotta did top tier work in both. Also, Stallone turned his acting up a few notches in Copland.
My dad once met Joe Pesci at a bar and he told him how much he likes Goodfellas and how his kids love it (it's one of my many favorite movies). Joe replied, "You're shitting me!" Lol Funny guy. Sad he's not in anymore movies.
Goodfellas was filmed partly in my old neighborhood in Queens. The lounge, the cemetery road while truck highjacking, the diner, all in Maspeth where I grew up. It is absolutely my number one movie favorite and the most realistic mob movie. Believable beyond all other mob movies except Donnie Broscoe. That one came close.
Yup lol. The Clinton Diner! The club where they whacked Billy was on Grand Avenue right across from where Blockbuster used to be. I grew up only a couple miles away up 58th street between Queens Blvd and Roosevelt Ave. I pass the ruins of the diner all the time when visiting my family in Woodside. Sad it burned down even though the food was horrible. I’m glad they were able to film the Irishman there right before it burned down though. It’s awesome to be from those neighborhoods right where a lot of the movie was filmed. Nice to meet ya, neighbor 👍🏻 lol

TOMMY: Look, Sonny, you got my word. TOMMY: I'll be in touch.
The funny thing is...Ray said, in a recent interview on the radio, that he's never been in a fight in his entire life. So he may look scary & tough but he's really not like that in real life.
Ray Liotta was always a mob guy, even in his interviews he came across as a mob guy, but I remember when I was a kid and he played Joey in Another World. Nobody seems to remember that. I just loved him in that soap, such a sweet character. He’s grey and aging, but he sounds the same. What a career he had, wow. I can’t believe he has passed away.

Also for Joe Pesci----Home Alone. Perhaps one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time. 90s family entertainment at its best!
My cousin Vinnie is a fuckin classic... Got to get me some grits...
+Dan Edwards this fuckin jacket!!
Don't forget Pesci in JFK and Once Upon a Time in America.
Joe McKim Joe pesci wasn't in once upon a time in America. Sorry to break your heart but all your life you have been calling Robert de niro Joe pesci
Loved Liotta in Something Wild. I've been a fan boy since. RIP sir.
Thanks for giving Tommy Vercetti your great voice!
he was Tommy vercetti? daym
w s 2016 jenna jameson burt reynolds also in the game
😥I loved Ray Liotta..he was 1 of my favorite actors. R.I.P & may God bless.
Miss the likes of you Ray Liotta. You left us way to soon...great acting from a great actor. Underrated Movie Star. R I P Brother
:47 not enough people got the reference in the audience. i feel disappointed
What do you mean funny? Well like funny how???
Well you know... just.. how you tell the story.. it's funny..
Amazingly, never nominated. Great in Goodfellas, holds the film together, great in Copland too..
Copland should've gotten a bunch of awards (or at least nominations). But it wasn't pushed by a studio and the director wasn't a name. Oscar politics sadly won out.
He was great in a film called Narc as well
@@boxmad5523 Yes! Narc and Copland were excellent films and Liotta did top tier work in both.
Also, Stallone turned his acting up a few notches in Copland.
What a great actor in all his movies. Rip Ray
My dad once met Joe Pesci at a bar and he told him how much he likes Goodfellas and how his kids love it (it's one of my many favorite movies). Joe replied, "You're shitting me!" Lol Funny guy. Sad he's not in anymore movies.
funny how?
+Kantnklaar Like a clown?
Who cares
After all his years of glory, here he is living his life like an "average snook" 😂😂
He gave up ordering noodles and tomato sauce.
LOL
One of the truly great & very underrated actors of his generation. Sadly missed R.I.P 🙏
Goodfellas isn't one of the greatest movies, it is the greatest movie
I’ll name a movie that you can’t refuse :3
Mr. Layth Adrian hell no
Goodfellas is a GREAT movie, but I liked Casino better.
Scar face
@@tootyfrooty69 Goodfellas > Godfather. It's really close, but it's better.
"i want my money tohday, tohday, tohday"
iTzYoMaster "thats all we had karen!!!"
iTzYoMaster "hey he looks like somebody we know"
+Joseph Rodriguez "Hey-here's a wing!"
enna1913 "i want my money tohday, tohday, tohday"
Sandy Ballbag "I'm gonna go get the papers..get the papers!"
RIP Ray, one of my favourite actors . You are missed
Rest in Power to this Legend man, taken way to soon. Forever will continue to mention his hit lines from his movies 💯
A Bronx Tale is another great one
Loved them all can’t believe rays gone :(
R.I.P. Ray Liotta 🙏🏻
Ray Liotta was a Genius as an Actor and we should all be thankful for what he has given to the Entertainment world, he will be greatly missed RIP May God's Angels keep you Safe through the gates of heaven.
One of my favorite actors. R. I. P. 🙏🏾🖤🙏🏾🖤🙏🏾🖤
No Sonny, I don't have the money....
You are making an idiot out of me, Tommy, and I'm not laughing yet :)
Sonny Barker does
I'm lookin' for the MONEY, SONNY. Don't worry!
You better not be screwing me Tommy
SONNY: because you know I'm not a man to be screwed with!
TOMMY: Wait Sonny.
TOMMY: You have my personal assurance that I'm going to get your money back and the drugs.
TOMMY: And I'm gonna mail you the dicks of those responsible.
SONNY: Hey, I already know that. You're not a fool Tommy, but I warn you, neither am I.If it was anybody else you'd be DEAD already. But because it's you, because we got history, I'm gonna let you handle this.
TOMMY: Look, Sonny, you got my word.
TOMMY: I'll be in touch.
People will remember soon enough. When they see him walking down the street. It'll be bad for business
Liotta lookin more like Tony Curtis in his later years.
Sky Blylevin my thoughts exactly! They share an amazing resemblance
it's the hair piece
Rest in peace Ray. Another great taken from us..🙏🙏
i love Ray , hes always been a great actor. he has character!
Rip , Kazakhstan will remember your movies
Rest in Paradise legend😮😮 you're truly missed🎉🎉
Ray looks like if he got pissed he would still take out the baseball bat from behind his seat and wreak havoc at Jimmy.
Those eyes are cold
Yeah, he's a good fella.
The funny thing is...Ray said, in a recent interview on the radio, that he's never been in a fight in his entire life. So he may look scary & tough but he's really not like that in real life.
+KoolCat ! I still wouldn't mess with him though. Haha.
I'm betting that's more due to 'big pharma' than anything.
After Mr. Liotta said "He's a funny guy" somebody from the audience should have said "OK Henry that's it!!".
He was always one of my favorite actors. Narc was my favorite movie he was in.
Unlawful Entry with him and Kurt Russell was really good also
Whats crazy is NOW he actually looks a lot like Pauli did in Goodfellas... Wow.
Chris collins A better looking version.
too much steak
As far back as i can remember i always wanted to be like Ray Liotta.
Rest in peace sir🕊
I'm still sad, Jimmy. I'm still sad.
