Totally agree! To sing a song well, you must have a personal emotional connection with it
If one notices carefully, all the legendary music directors so clever and composed each element of the music with lof of thoughts to support and present the poetry/ emotions behind the lyrics... Each and everything they implement in their music is all about the emotions and notes together!
When I still lived with my parents back then, they always made fun of me because of how much emotion I put into a song and ever since I realized not to exaggerate. But now that I moved out, I realized how wrong they are! And now I'm relearning this. This made so much sense especially the imaging the scenes while you sing. Thank you so much for this Freya! ❤️
that's why i did a song about the homeless because i went through that. i put my all in my songs
Freya is so passionate and emotional about her music, it is hard not to get affected by it! There is so much intensity there, that as her student, you want to emulate her. That makes her an excellent teacher
and role model!
Fascinating insight into conveying emotion through music ❤
In my opinion this the most important subject on singing your best and is taught by a lady with the background in singing, teaching singing and passion that makes her possibly the best.
Can't wait!
This is so helpful - thank you so much!!
Great advice!!
It really makes a difference ❤️
Great job, Freya, opens a whole new ways to approach songs like living in Kansas and getting transported to Oz!
This was well explained. Thank you.
Thanks for this excellent lesson!

Getting back into rock and roll after the aria. This video is inspiring me in time for my Sunday gig. BTW... FIELDS OG GOLD almost always my opening number.
Thank you so much from Sri lanka
damn girl, you don't even know how you help me at this moment, thank you!
Great topic Freya! WIthout emotions, singing is not singing at all... :D
Love the new hair! You look much younger with shorter hair! '-)
Me trying to give emotion to silly pop songs
Emotion isnt just tears or sadness.
It can be a baddas song and u give the emotions when you're with all the attitude
Hi Freya,
Thank you for your videos - I know it is a lot of dedication and time for you to bring this to the world!
For some reason I am recalling your scales video where you speak to how one sings scales. First, can you speak more about the "attitude" one should approach scales? As basic as it is, as a novice with a light piano background, I thought of scales a purely mechanical note matching and body control. Not "musically." The setting up of it the mental-intent behind singing scales vs just matching notes seems like a first step to singing a song with intent-emotion.
Could you speak more to scales (in general goals) and perhaps how to make a scale exercise from a song one is working on? And in relationship to this videos topic acutely, when one is practicing song specific scale sets - would that be when one should weave in emotion or only when lyrica are involved?
My thanks!
Arigato Freya Chasey san!
Thank you fot the great advice! It really helped me :)
❤
freya, can you give me some tip on how to sing happy upbeat songs as someone who always feels lonely and depressed? i can sing those songs technically well but they dont sound happy because i am not happy. i cant just only sing sad songs for auditions for singing programs, musicals, choirs etc...
It's all about the acting, actually. At least in my opinion.
I like to sing very raspy and angry songs, yet I'm a very calm person. I'm not depressed, but to sound like that, I try to sound like struggling or just emotionless.... I think i didnt help you at all lool
sorry
I am gonna try it
How to sound emotion in my Voice?
How do I sing with LESS emotion? I keep making bar bouncers cry 🤔
