      I personally like the Flagstaff 26fkbs better after watching that video first on your website I was redirected to this video for similar floor plans, I think the rockwood/flagstaff overall has better inside storage and better counter space for example cabinets over the theater seats, pull out drawers under the Dinette, shoe storage when you first walk in under the pantry closet, a little more counter space on the lower section in the kitchen and better slide system overall especially in the kitchen where cougar is using that cable slide which I heard is the worst in the business and I was told when you see one of those to run, plus I think Rockwood Flagstaff has a better color scheme. I will say the bathroom in the cougar is better as well as better storage outside, just my opinion I don't mean to be critical but those are the reasons why I like the Rockwood / Flagstaff better.

    I love that the bathroom separates the rooms for privacy. And having a door to each area gives us a setup almost like a two bedroom. We have a similar set up but in a toy hauler and we love it. We've taken adault kids and another couple on different trips and the separation gives us great sound barrier with amazing privacy. Thanks for your thought on this layout.

    • @rvail136
      @rvail136 6 месяцев назад +2

      I asked in a separate comment why haven't anyone made a front kitchen toy hauler with the bedroom as the garage? Front living center bath amd a rear bedroom/garage. Using a happyjac bed this should be doable. I suspect it would sell very well simply because it's not a huge living/garage.....

    We own a 2023 22mls. Love Cougars! My recommendation on this model is they need at least one night stand in the bedroom for CPAP and cell phone. I would settle for a queen bed to get that. Lack of good campsite view is a negative but wouldn't be a deal breaker. Love the pantry behind the TV. And the dimmer! Wish our 22mls had that!

    Love this design, Freakin Nailing it! Am considering this now vs the Whitehawk 27RK. Would really like the floor vent moved out of the kitchen traffic area or removed all together. You could put a large butcher block in that dropped level for the kitchen that would level it out and probably look cool. Would love to see just a couple tiny phone shelves on either side of the bed in the slide next to that window. (Going to guess like most you need to have the slides out to use the stuff in them) NICE!

    Thanks again, Josh, for another amazing video. Now I am back on the Cougar wagon for our downsize. I'm not sure how I feel about the fridge placement 🤔 it would work better if it opened in either direction. I am a fan of how they pimped out the storage, though. Could go either way with the pantry or counter space. Could eliminate the oven and do a convection microwave. Love the upgraded floor vents, not a fan of one being in the bathroom. I like it. Could definitely make the ever growing list of 37. From all my time watching these videos I’ve come to the conclusion that anybody wanting to get into the camping world (not the store chain), it is just best to buy a heavy duty 3/4 ton truck so that you already have the tow vehicle in place for no matter camper you end up buying in the future. I like the color and decals on this. If I could be nit picky, I’d like to see the awning extended all the way to the rear.

    Nice floorplan. For the kitchen, keep the pantry as the foot of counterspace isn't worth giving up the pantry IMO. In the top corner, spice rack is a good idea. Would prefer wider drawers rather than a double set of lower drawers. I can live with the height difference. A couple power towers would be helpful. Thanks for the shower shape. Being disabled I need a chair in the shower so a radius shower is a problem. Love the pantrytainment storage unit! I would like an option for a queen bed. For bedroom storage, I would vote for more hanging storage space.

    Pretty darn good floorplan. Like that both doors are well under the awning, shouldn't get spritzed in the face. Little outside storage is a concern. Are all tankless water heaters gas only? towing without any water makes sense from a weight perspective, but if you want to use it for potty breaks or to wash up you have to have water.

Since the kitchen pantry has a curve and weird storage i would prefer a long counter. And i think they need to get with the times and start adding a sectional or long lobg couch with part that has the trifold and part that has recliners or a coffee table like we have in our jayco that comes up into a table. Not sure how I feel about the lack of a true front passthrough for large storage. I like it. But like all RV's it has some short falls. The entry step have a to high rise for older folks, the bed base is to tall for us if you put in a better mattress. We would prefer the table and chairs, queen bed for walk around space to make it and to get into. Need some kind of shelf to put C-pap's on. I can do without pas thru storage since we have a pickup to pull it with an 8' bed and it is covered.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 месяцев назад

      Super fair feedback. I've really found cpap shelves are hard to find in bed slides because they require the entire RV to get a chunk wider which QUICKLY adds up on cost
      A cougar is probably easily $1,200 to $1,400 per additional foot. So unless the extra length provides some significant benefit we tend not to get them in bed slides

    Im a big fan of the front kitchens, and like to see new ones, but to me, this doesn't beat the Coachman Freedom Express 259FKDS. (I do like the the fact they put a king bed in there though.) The Coachman has a huge outside camp kitchen, which is a major point for them, and how I cook. I have never seen the need for a second door on a camper either, so having that is just a waste of space to me. Several models seem to keep doing it though. As for your question on the bedroom, I would say more storage space would be desired over windows for a bedroom. Road mode is another thing that don't matter too much to me either, but its nice if they can accommodate it. Certainly at least be able to get to the refrigerator is a must. Finally, the shower size also don't matter to me. I think the shower in my current camper has been used maybe once in all the years. Id actually be interested in some accessory kit that turned it into a shelf /storage area. We always just used the campground showers, but that's just how we roll. Keep up the reviews Josh. Love your work.

    Yepper, since you asked, kill the narrow pantry in the kitchen, at least the upper half, insert a pull out spice rack in its place and extend the countertop all the way over...there appears to be plenty of cabinets and drawers in the kitchen in addition to the hidden pantry. I agree with the downside of no windows on the camp-side. if the entertainment center was in the slide out, teh recliners could be moved to thecampside with windows:)

With everything there is always something you would change. Not a fan of all the windows in the bedroom. I would eliminate that small one by the door and the small ones by the head of the bed. I'd rather have some kind of shelf for your phone, water bottle etc. Storage by the bedroom door would be better use of the space. My 6'2" husband would appreciate that head room as well. Wow! Great first impression, love the way the frig is set into the pantry and the TV is at eye level. I am not a fan of the paint scheme, I want it solid. I am not normally a fan of the booth dinett but the way the table mounts it is very usable. Plus, it has a real shower with doors. I believe it is a mistake making the king bed standard. I like a side stand for the CPAP. The front storage isn't bad and I like that they use 30lb propane tanks. Placing the water heater in its current location should dictate a shower mizer type return until the water is hot. I like the way they handled the outside storage. I think they nailed this!

    I love floor plans like this, but almost all of them have limitted space for thick matttresses. One factor in our choosing a Minnie 2529RG over a dual-slide FK model (like this one) was so that we could fit a 14-inch mattress. Shoppers may not think about mattress thickness (and maybe I am the only one who cares), but it might be worth including on some models.

      Cougar builds for colder climates and that floor ducted heating is part of the equation. I've had multiple cougar customers survive polar vortex midwestern winters successfully without things like frosted cabinets and busted water lines that are common in most "four seasons" rigs
      That heat system runs one direct chute thru the floor and doesn't really allow for placing vents in out of the way locations. It's a function over fashion system really

While I love our closet, I have to bring a fabric dresser with wood top to put in front of the door for a place to set things down at night. (never use the door) Not sure why there is a bedroom door since you have complete access. Could've had a longer closet and dresser in place of door. Last suggestion.....lose the pantry on the front wall.
