    Thanks for the video! As a person with 1 hand (2nd hand is palm/thumb only) this controller has been a fantastic addition to my new dreamachine. I've always enjoyed xbox controllers as my left hand is larger so they are very comfortable. I usually use my knee to shoot or use the right trigger, if i use my right hand' i have to take away from the right thumbstick and right buttons. Man im lucky that my hand can do everything on the front right, except the R1/R2. The paddles though im not used to it alow me to not have to take away from using xyba/thumbstick. I took out the right rear paddles. This thing is premium and makes it easy for me!

    This is a great & concise review. I’ve had one since the Elite Series 2 launched and it’s been great. A stuff people don’t highlight is that you can self repair/replace the controller parts as Microsoft sells replacement parts & has service manuals online for the more approachable work.
    I see right to repair as a bonus personally so it only helps my love for the controller despite some of the flaws it has.

    Having Cerebral Palsy and playing with one hand, the back paddles are a GOD SEND! I love this controller, have had them for a long time, I also have the series 1 for swap charging! Never go without a elite controller! Great video man!!

  • @berg_berg
    @berg_berg 2 года назад +199

    Pro Tip: for the back paddles they are all interchangeable. You can put any of the paddles in any of the 4 locations. For example if you take the larger bottom paddle and move it to the other side it will point upward and protrude out a bit more than normal. I do this bc the position is a bit more natural for my hand and having a bit of extra surface feels better.

    I love my series 2 controller. Unfortunately mine came with the infamous issue of bumpers not working. Recently sent it for repair. Bc of this I can’t really recommend it unless you find it with a nice discount. Everything else, best controller out there hands down. The level of hardware and software customization is insane.
    UPDATE: got my controller back. This time they used ALPS bumpers instead of the Chinese no-brand bumpers Microsoft uses. So far no problems at all. Best controller I've owned.

      Where do you take it for repairs and how much is it?

    • @richboss_
      @richboss_ 2 года назад +4

      @@Kazasia-_- I live in Mexico and it was a repair shop up north called ElTallerDeAlex. Whole process took about two weeks. And was about $30 shipping costs included.
      But if you want to sent it for repair just make sure they use ALPS buttons. Those are the "official" ones. They explained to me the reason why the bumpers on the elite series 2 are so bad is bc Microsoft doesn't use ALPS, they put on some cheap Chinese buttons. They actually sent me back the faulty ones and in fact they're some no-brand bumpers.
      Just make sure they use ALPS wherever you send it and that they know how to solder correctly so you get a clean job without damaging the motherboard or any other components.
      It's been a week and a half since my controller arrived and so far no problems at all. As I said, best controller I've ever used.

    One thing that I feel most reviews aren't addressing is the bumpers going bad and stick drift. Both of these issues are super common on the elite series 2. I haven't had my elite series 2 for even a year and my RB doesn't work at all and my left stick drifts forward. To my surprise after some research it turns out this is a super common issue with this controller. For a 200$ controller it's kinda bullshit that X box uses such cheap hardware

    • @lash3873
      @lash3873 2 года назад +12

    • @GD1_3
      @GD1_3 2 года назад +7

      Yup, same on mine it's a game of luck with the bumbers hoping it registers or not, one of my back paddle ports doesn't work either I barely use them. It's kept in the case and we'll maintained. For 150-200 these issues should not happen if your playing normally

    • @lash3873
      @lash3873 2 года назад

      On the upside. Microsoft has increased the warranty on it from 6 months to a year from date of purchase. Definitely take advantage of that as soon as something starts to go wrong while it's valid.
      It's a hassle having to ship it to them but they fix/or replace it and send it back fairly quickly free of charge.

    • @E-1337
      @E-1337 2 года назад +1

      @@lash3873 they wont repair it if theres any cosmetic blemishes (scratches, etc.) because they dont actually repair your controller, they send you a refurbished one that they have lying around. so if they cant ship yours to someone else later on, they just simply wont honor the warranty.

    My use case for the paddles is in games where I want to keep a button held down a majority of the time. My textbook example is Elden Ring, where you want to be running a lot of the time. Keeping the B button held down all the time gets uncomfortable after a multi-hour session, but the paddles just feel like I'm holding the controller so it doesn't give my hands any fatigue. Plus, it lets me use the left thumbstick and the B button (or any button) at the same time with only one hand, which is nice when I'm traveling a long way and want to use my other hand to check my phone or take a drink.

    One thing i do have to say about the non replacable batteries, its not that we play 40 hour sessions, but when you leave the controller after racking up 39 hours and 30 minutes, next time you pick it up you run out and have to recharge, which is why i love my swappable rechargable batteries. One set is always full so i never have downtime

    • @SilverRyuu
      @SilverRyuu 2 месяца назад

      Basically this. If you're someone who doesn't mind playing wired or who always remembers to charge their controller than non replaceable batteries are better.
      Replacable batteries are good because it's easy to have a setup where you have a couple of fully charged batteries so if one pair dies you can just swap it and continue playing wirelessly.
      There's also the fact that batteries degrade over time/charge cycles so those 40 hours won't be 40 hours in a couple of years if you're a heavy user

    I own both the V1 and V2 elite controllers. Apart from the rubber padding coming loose on the V1 I do feel that was hands down of a better build quality than the V2. I have had issues and have 2 friends that have similar issues. Specifically, the bumpers coming somewhat loose and the B button getting stuck. With mine I also had the left trigger lock getting stuck. My V1 however is still going strong.

    love the feel of the controller as well as the customizability of it but I just cannot use one anymore. Ive had like 4 separate ones (cuz of the warranty) and they have all broken within 1-2 months its just too much of a hassle going throught the replacement process everytime and not having a controller for a week. I switched to the wolverine TE about a year ago and havent had a single issue. If the elite 2 could just stop breaking it would be the best controller without a doubt.

Then when I got those replaced, I had aim drift in just a couple weeks. I’ve gotten so tired of cycling through these pieces of junk that I now just have learned to live with damn aim drift. I swear by my Elite S2, I’ll never go back to a regular controller by choice. It is absolutely superior in every way.
    Unfortunately so many people just think it’s crap because all the problems with the Elite S1 and I know they were having some quality assurance issues for a while but they’ve since corrected the issue and current production models are very well made.
    The product is worth the price imo. People just want something for nothing and it’s really annoying.
    I use mine at my desk less then a few feet away from my Xbox and I’ve always used it wired. I never use wireless.
    I have noticed though that if your controller is connected to your Xbox with the USB-C cord when firmware updates get pushed out it does it automatically. I can’t remember the last time I had to wait for an update to install.

    The higher resistance is better for aiming and being able to handle super high sensitivities. If you are willing to spend this much on a controller then maybe you are like me and game a lot. The long stick / high resistance has given me terrible chronic pain in my thumb's knuckle, and it goes all the way up the muscle / ligaments till it reaches my elbow. So I have learned to use the lowest tension possible and after a couple of days I am just as lethal in most scenarios. Still goof a little bit here and there due it feeling a lot different. I adjusted the deadzone, look speed, and ADS speed in game and it feels great. I have less pain already only after a couple days. So just keep this in mind when setting up your controller.

I went out and bought the regular series controller and as someone that plays claw it was alot easier to flick my xyba buttons. Also having no batteries in the controller making it feel super light which help in long Apex sessions. Hope elite 3 will address these complaints otherwise I don't see why I would switch back to it.
