Thank you so much for this, I’m so grateful to have found this video because I have an especially hard time cleaning my room, it’s a common problem with me and my siblings. We grew up in a mentally abusive household because of my ex-stepdad, and he never let us learn how to clean because of his weird rules. When we tried to, he would come out of his room and tell us that we were doing it out of order (I went to sweep, which we all know we should do regularly not as a deep cleaning process even if we avoid it, aand he told me that we needed to clean up all of the junk piles around the house first and take the trash. Important to know that all of it was stuff that didn’t belong to me so I didn’t know what to do with it.) For as long as I can recall, we had roach problems, laundry piles, junk piles, crowded counters, multiple trash bags in the kitchen, a full sink. howdy hey! random thing that can also help keep your bed a bit more tidy. don’t use your bed for random things. if you’re just chilling, don’t sit in your bed. if you’re watching a show, pull up a chair etc. not only will you end up with less stuff in your bed, but you’ll have an easier time going to sleep because your brain is associating you being in your bed with going to sleep, and not with playing animal crossing.

Thank you so much for this, I’m so grateful to have found this video because I have an especially hard time cleaning my room, it’s a common problem with me and my siblings. We grew up in a mentally abusive household because of my ex-stepdad, and he never let us learn how to clean because of his weird rules. When we tried to, he would come out of his room and tell us that we were doing it out of order (I went to sweep, which we all know we should do regularly not as a deep cleaning process even if we avoid it, aand he told me that we needed to clean up all of the junk piles around the house first and take the trash. Important to know that all of it was stuff that didn’t belong to me so I didn’t know what to do with it.) For as long as I can recall, we had roach problems, laundry piles, junk piles, crowded counters, multiple trash bags in the kitchen, a full sink. I know I said a lot but overall I’m so happy to finally be able to learn how to clean after 13 years :D thanks for being a part of my journey

How to keep your room clean.
Tip 1: have a huge room that you can fit your "dump bin", cupboards, recycling bin, wardrobe, etc.
Not possible in Singapore or hong Kong

I live in Hong Kong I didn't have a room in the apartment but when I moved to a villa I had a huge room. It was the same size of my mom's master in the apartment . I used to share my room with younger sister and a helper but now I get some privacy!

The dump bin is such a great idea. Everyone has that one chair or spot on their desk that is basically their dump spot, but to have an actual bin helps it to look waaay more organized & clean! (:

howdy hey! random thing that can also help keep your bed a bit more tidy. don’t use your bed for random things. if you’re just chilling, don’t sit in your bed. if you’re watching a show, pull up a chair etc. not only will you end up with less stuff in your bed, but you’ll have an easier time going to sleep because your brain is associating you being in your bed with going to sleep, and not with playing animal crossing.
