I've heard many many times that it's betterr to declutter according to the space that you have, than buying new storage bins, shelvings, drawers, etc. Think of containers as the phisical limits to your stuff. You don't need to become a minimalist, but go through your things first and see what you don't use, wear, need, or like anymore, and then start reorganizing the entire room. That is what works the best for me... I used to feel soooooo overwhelmed before I started to do that, and now I declutter and organize a lot easier and without the overwhelm
Thank you for that! It really is helpful advice I appreciate it
You are welcome!!! ❤️
I wish I had know this sooner. I got a huge 5x5 cube shelf but it severely limits how I can move things in my room and since I love to reorganize things and move things around (adhd), it sucks.
@@MoonlitBookworm73 hope that this works for you if you decide to try it... It works for me, and I would normally get overwhelmed by chaos because I am autistic, and I can't deal with that kind of sensory overstimulation... So when I started trying this, it was a game changer... I am still decluttering but it's a lot better and much easier to keep everything tidy
I'm autistic as well and I also really need to declutter and reorganize all the kinds of storage areas in my room. The room itself is great, but when you open things up you'll find it's not so organized inside.
For me, it doesn't make me go crazy or anything at all, so it's therefore really cool to both relate AND be different from other autistic people when I see them! No one of us is the exact same as the other!
I've been wanting to declutter and organize it all, but each time I'm so unmotivated for certain reasons. The only thing I have instead of feeling stressed and stuff is that I feel bad about the fact that everything is still not started with and that I just struggle to start sometimes when everything is already like this.
Oh and, the dust I have in my room is the hardest part. I'm allergic to it so I don't know how I've been fine all this time.
I think another piece of advice would be to download a nice pomodoro timer app. Work for like 25-30 min, take a 5-10 min short break, work again, then take a 10-15min long break and repeat as much as you want till you get everything done.
Or use another method I forgot the name of - assign some time to a task and finish it within that time.
I will be trying out the Pomodoro method first though!
As someone who has the same struggles, my advice for the desk is, Angle the mirror against the corner where you have it. So instead of flat against one wall, have it rest on both walls…move the double stacked yellow and pink boxes behind the mirror and then move the vase with flowers to the right where the stacked boxes were.
Exactly what i was thinking!
that sounds like such a lovely idea, I'll def give it a try maybe I'll include it in my next video and if it doesn't work I'll just return the mirror 🥰
That's exactly what I was about to say about the mirror. Also think some sheer curtains would let light in and add more color to the wall.
Whenever I need to clean my room listening to these videos is the only thing that motivates me.
Same
This gave me motivation to clean my room. I love watching people wash their room so it can give me some sort of motivation, too.
Lets gooooo, you can do it and you will 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
As a person who constantly rearranges her room like 3-4 times a day, I'd say put the shelf to the back of the desk to kind of cut off your work space from your hobby space. Scoot the night table over just a bit, and put your makeup mirror in the window sill to be able to do your makeup with natural light. Place a small flat pillow on the floor to cushion it, and yeah, I think it'd look much neater, and it would clear up space on your desk!
Great ideas
girl this video was too relatable.... im stiitng here procrastinating cleaning my room so that I can move new furniture in and make a suitable home for my plants and whenever I clean it always ends up becoming messy again in a matter of a week
Currently typing this with a very messy room… 😮💨😩
Hello Meli, my advice as a minimalist: don't buy new storage when you want to declutter. The less space you have, the more you're willing to get rid of things. you don't have to adapt to a minimalist lifestyle but since you seem pretty unhappy with your room, you should really consider keeping items that you don't need.
When you started with your desk I noticed that you just rearrange your stuff. Instead get everything out of the drawer, and see if you need everything or just put it elsewhere. the drawer under the desk provides so much room, you could also just use it for your makeup instead.
Yess thank you for that I definitely did buy too much furniture 😭
This video reminds me when I was younger. Now I still struggle with keeping my space tidy, but married and with children, it's more difficult to tackle.
Now I'm trying to declutter stuff that I don't need. But it's hard.
I'm trying to implement routines that help me keep my house tidy. When I was single I used to spend a whole weekend for cleaning and tidying and decorating, but the next day it was a mess again. Now I don't even have a whole day to do that.
I'm improving as the time pass and I learn more. But I would like to had learned it before.
I think for displaying all your trinkets, you should get some acrylic stands so that they can actually fill up the space you put them in. Having a bunch of little things in a tall drawer can look strange, but if you have the little trinkets in two layers, then you can free up some counter space on your desk and other drawers for some calmness to the room. I love clear spaces so you can actually use them when you need to!!
Watching your struggle meant soo much to me. I live in my one room with my husband and toddler at the moment and I have been soo depressed at how much I need to keep in my room. Its never aesthetically pleasing so it was nice to see someone else on the same boat as me. Until I can finally get my own house soon hopefully I will have to keeping dealing with the clutter sadly.
Heyy, when it comes to the desk I would balance the sides, I saw another comment saying this but I would tilt the mirror into the corner and move the vase to the right side. It would help with height, I would make the laptop more central and then scatter the smaller decor about colour correspondingly, hope this helps
aww thank you for this I appreciate it so much!!🤍 im honestly thinking if returning my mirror tbh 😭
@@MeliMel That's fair enough 😭
@@tristytreating8639 I don't think so maybe I just have a look alike 👀
@@Lexilouise__ ok :)
I totally relate with this especially how long it took to clean out a whole bedroom. I recently decluttered mine. I threw (some are for donation) out a lot of things which I no longer use. Now, I am enjoying a bigger and cleaner space.
Great job decluttering! I like the vibe👍🏼 My only suggestion/recommendation would be to try switching the salt lamp with your makeup organizer. I find it super helpful to store makeup near where I plan to use it☺️
I came across your video because I watch decluttering videos to motivate myself to do it myself... and i loveee your content so much. hello to my new favorite youtuber!
Use fairy lights or LEDS for more light, it’ll be aesthetic too. Maybe change the rug, and change the curtains to match the lights 😊
omg yes CLEANING CLEARS YOUR MIND that is good that you are cleaning
Dude I love the vibes of your room sm
Love your vidas 🤍I think a good idea would be put some shelves on the walls to display your small trinkets above your desk that you don’t normally use that often. You also have all your small items on display and it looks like a lot of clutter but I’d suggest bins that you can put on your bookshelf to hide the clutter so it looks cleaner ❤ or a dresser instead of bookshelves that way you’d have storage for extra clothes
I love your style!!!! Can you do a whats in my closet tour? Thank you!
I would put the mirror more in the middle of the desk, I love your room it’s adorable
Move your desk around so that you have your back to your bed. Rn the feng shui is off. Never have your back to the door. Also yes switch the mirror so your makeup and mirror are next to each other! Gd luck!
Ironically I also have to assemble a bookshelf. Thanks for the motivation!
Your videos always brighten up my day🥰 you’re hilarious girl, the way you put your shirt on Candy lol I cant 🤣🤣 and I also love that top you were wearing in the beginning! Very nostalgic 🫶🏼
STOPP I literally put a crop top from yesstyle on her 🤣 and ikkk I love bobby jack! P.s your comment made me smile so ty for that 🥰🤍
maybe put a floating shelf above your desk to put all the cute decorations on, so your desk isnt super cluttered and the shelf adds another layer, so it looks less flat
I'd leave the mirror on whatever side you like to do your makeup best. And I'd definitely put the makeup bin next to it ! But it looks so cute 😍
I love your videos but the thought i have everytime is if you use all of your skincare products and that your room is pretty "full". It is hard to keep a room clean when there are so many things in there. And at least in my case it was that i tried new stuff every now and then, didnt finish the old ones bc it wasnt working as well and it just accumulated. So my tip would be to do a radical declutter, i did it as well and it really helped. If i havent used something in the last 3 to 6 months i'll get rid of it except i know i'll use it again like seasonal stuff. I dont keep things anymore with the thought that maybe one day.. i donated or gave away everything i could, there are ppl out there that need it more💕
The checkered make up bags are my faves! I keep one in my purse and I am getting a new car so I am gonna keep car essentials in one. And I LOVE the crates. They are so cute to display
Also do you think more bins in your closet would help? For the top?
loved this!!! your energy is so warming
POOR GIRLY, I HOPE YOU GET BETTER! ❤❤️🩹 (hey meli i love u, ur vids, and the adorable bunny 🥹)
aww thanks bestie I love u smmm 🤍

How does your bunbun not chew anything in your room?! Such a well behaved bun x
I'm glad you were honest. My closet looks the same
Oml this is the only vid that makes me want to clean my room.

Wow Wow Meli what a pretty pretty room you have and your room is looking too too clean and I was eagerly waiting for this vlog and I wish you reach 60K Subscribers very very soon!😭💫💖
awww im glad you enjoyed it and tysm 🤍
Move the table other way in the corner and AD that low selfunit next to it. Move clothesrack next to miror and place bookself where clothesrack is. Move bunnys things front of window. And ad some underbed baskets for more storage.
we move in 7 days and I only have 3 or 4 boxes packed 😭😭 I'm watching this to motivate me to pack and clean right now-
I live SUPER far north, so it's not uncommon for people on my area to have Vitamin D deficiency or seasonal depression, and some people buy "light boxes" that you can sit with for like half an hour. It's actually pretty nice to have in the winter months!!
“My rooms a mess again” most relatable sentence EVER 😭
Have the mirror in the centre of the desk and the other things to the side keyboard left and the pink make up storage on the right of the mirror x
I love these types videos... It gets me motivated to clean my messes and its just entertaining to watch!!! (Also where is that jewellery stand from... Looks very nice!!)
Usually personally a typical bedroom requires a bed, nightstand, dresser, bookcase, small garbage pail, and a desk and chair.
*Use it or lose it*. This is my motto.
2) only need typically one maybe two weeks worth of clothes. For summer and one set for winter, or rather clothes for when its hot and clothes for when its cold. Some nice outfits for special occasions. A few sweaters and jackets, thats like 2-3. One pair of day shoes, sneakers or running shoes, heavy duty outdoor and/ winter boots. And one to three special occasion shoes. And one really nice favorite purse. Maybe a second for special occasion. Anything more than that is too many clothes.
3) The most important about the face is that when you keep it clean and healthy you hardly ever need to put makeup on. Thats what i know. Girls and women should only need one small makeup bag. Anything more is too much. And yes im a girl and i used to have some makeup but in the end i only used like one thing for my face, one black eyeliner, lip gloss, and a small eyeshadow pallette, and one blush. Thats all i needed. Less is more. Makeup should be used to accentuate the face, not cover and paint it all. The more makeup then the more work and time and stress, and the weirder and uglier the face can look. Plus wearing makeup too often and too much, can actually damage and ruin the face. Keeping the face clean is the most important. Ive also found that with makeup it actually can show up horribly on camera. Everybody can see the makeup if done wrong. For me i just stopped wearing makeup entirely. For my situation its a waste of my time and money. But thats how i see makeup, other people see it on the opposite spectrum and essentially need it every day. But meh.
4) Jewelry. If you wear earrings then maybe just a 2-3 really good pairs. Like really good ones. One really good day to day favorite necklace. And maybe another or two for special occasions. Less amount of jewelry, but like really awesome and amazingly good quality jewelry that will last a lifetime. I only really have one necklace that i can wear daily. It goes with my engagement and wedding ring, and thats all i really need or care for. Lol :P .
5) Back to clothes. Again less quantity and more quality. Make sure the 1 to 2 weeks worth of clothes are all of your absolute favorites and they fit you perfectly, and quality material that can last a lifetime. Clothes that can easily be mixed and matched together, so less clothes but more variability.
6) With perfume make sure you use them. Make sure all of your perfumes are your absolute favorites.
7) With less clothes, you can organize all of your (excess) arts and crafting stuff into your closet. If you arent actually doing a crafting project then you should just keep them nicely organized in your closet. Use it or lose it. If you find yourself not actually doing any arts and crafts for like months or years, then ask yourself if you actually do plan to yarn or other arts and crafts. Otherwise just sell or donate them.
8) Keep your desk clean. With a writing desk its very helpful to have a nice set of drawers that go with your desk.
9) If need be why not get a small and sturdy vanity desk or table? Get rid of the small 6 cubicle thing or else both of those cubicle bookshelf and get yourself a really good quality vanity table, where you can organize your makeup and perfumes in the drawers nicely. Then you can put that mirror on it nicely. So you would basically have two tables. One for your writing and schoolwork and laptop. And one for makeup, perfume, and arts and crafts stuff.
-- Keep in mind these are all my thoughts and suggestions. You are free to take them or ignore them. Its up to you. But these ideas should help anyone keep a clean and organized bedroom, for anyone. Heh. Good luck!
God bless you! You could put your sock bin under your bed or maybe a couple more things with under the bed storage bins
I have a suggestion for your desk. Maybe try taking away all the decor (plants, candles, knick-knacks) and see how that feels. It should feel a lot more practical and calm. And for the mirror, maybe place it on the back right corner of your desk, so that you would have more sunlight on your face when looking in that mirror :)
Wow very creative my love I'm so proud 👏, please upload more videos more often it's very entertaining 😍
ty my love I appreciate it, thank you for your comments they make me smile 🥺🥰❤️
love the video, and LOVE the vibes 😂🥰
I know you probably know this but try to pick 1 hour on a certain day of the week and clean your room every single week. If you dont let it get bad it wont be so overwhelming
Thank u for this video!! I got a lot of motivation and finally cleaned my room and it looks awesome! me being anxious thinking ur phone is gonna fall out in 6:15
Loved it ❤🌷❤🌷
You building your bookshelf, I built my desk I got off of Amazon. 150 lbs, I lifted it up on my own by sheer determination 😂
Also built it at night, cause sleep was not an option that day. Lol
5:29 SAMEEE and even with my light on sometimes I walk in and accidentally TURN MY LIGHT OFF because I thought I was turning it on. 😢
Girl I’m at the beginning of this and your closet is cleaner then mine and I have a big closet
You can put the bookcase that's in front of the window on it's side so it isn't so high in front of the window
On your other/smaller shelf set, what’s the little pink computer looking thing? And where did you get the tiny pink set of two drawers?
I would turn the little cubby on its side, so it would not cover the window that much and you’d had more space on the top
Just discovered your channel and now I'm gonna subscribe ✨
I completely hear your concern about the light - but that window covering is blocking out a LOT! Get something lighter, or drapes that pull across the window and can be pulled open when you wake up. Maybe two layers - one sheer, one room-darkening? For makeup organization I like things that are clear or partially see-through so that you don't have to open each drawer to decide what to grab.
maybe put the desk in front of the window and make it only what the purpose is around it and on it for example get ready and work area. then the book shelves where the desk was. then have a declutter and maybe store things that u want to keep but dont use often out of sight but organised that way u now where to go to find something and maybe more aware if its worth keeping if u never reach for it. or like a backup area where u basically shopping and go through everything u have to prevent anything going out of date and feel less overwhelmed having less to maintain in visual sight. also test out putting ur wall decore in different ways and places to see how it makes the room feel.
She looks like Sarah Cameron ❤⭐
How did u hang ur peg board up! I have one but it idk how to put it up🥲
Maybe it would help if you turn the shelf that is next to your desk (now it is placed vertically but maybe you can put it horizontally) and then you will have more space on top to put some of the things that are in your desk and maybe some of the closet.
U should change the flower vase with the mirror❤❤❤❤
I would switch the mirror to the right side of the desk it's got more light as well as it's next to your makeup so it would flow. I've heard that you wanna set your room up the way your routine would flow.
Use hair clips to keep your yarn from unwinding
That happened to me too when I built my book shelf but I had white paint for wood and thats what I did. I was not taring that thing down again😂😂😅😅
hey!! the video is really nice, i generally dont do this, but i think the way you tackled your room was not planned. like take a while to decide what part of room is meant to serve what, thatm ight help you to feel satisfied. make a place getting ready area, near mirror, make a place strictly trinkets or display stuff area, another for being productive- just a suggestion!!
first video i watched of you but as soon as you said there’d be 4 of you building that shelf i automatically subbed lmao
It looks like there’s more space to buy another or even 2 of those bookshelves & you could totally
Maximize that space by making your shelves cute like you did & still putting away items.
Ok but I feel like I should’ve alerted someone the way u strangled that frog tryna get that tank on it 😂😂😂😂🔜 sooo funny but I loveee the way your room turned out. Your bed is so cute. Almost defies gravity lol. And ur bunnnn 😩😍 omg toooo cute
P.s. I’d also prefer the mirror on the side w the window for natural light sometimes even tho it’s minimal.
Girl the pic of Vinnie? Honestly me too
You would benefit by using some velvet hangers 😊
your toe must of hurt well 🤣🤣 also love ur room btw
Where can I get that clear spinny skincare organizer that’s at 3:25
mirror on the other side angled or angle it where it is and maybe a laptop stand that has little drawers? but overall the room looks so cute!
1:17 YES GIRL AMEN 💅
There are pet air purifiers that collects all of the fur from the air you could try if you haven’t already tried it
where’s your vase from with the tulips?
That’s amazing, where do u edit your videos😍 please tell
where’d you get the peg board from 8:21 🫶🏻✨
I feel like you should make your mirror your centerpiece on your desk and maybe decorate to the left and right beautifying the mirror since you look at it everyday. But it’s just a suggestion and maybe you’ve done it already lol. I’m new to your channel. I love your content so far. 💙
Hi girl, loved the video! Would you mind sharing the link to your make up organizer? 🤍
i saw it on amazon
when you said "it recommends two but i have God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit" it was AUTOMATIC subscribe i laughed so much AMENNNNN sister
Your new bookshelf needs adjusting. The top 2 shelfs are not being used to its advantage like the bottom 3. I would put ur pink makeup container on one the one by the window and some of your desk things like the hairclip holder stuff also on that bookshelf. But yea it looks like its coming together and can see the progress u made
I love you off of this one video I just discovered! You are beautiful you are real and I love you ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the video! But why do you have the curtain covering half the window if youre already nog getting enough sunlight😅
Am I the only one watching this so I can reorganize?
If you want something to help you with the fur you should a humidifier 🤍
POV the next day your room is a tornado.....😂
I am cleaning my room tomorrow and I know the feeling 😭😭
The Vinnie picture is so real 😂
To prevent clutter in the future, I would suggest you to stop buying things whatsoever for an extended period of time (e.g. for a year) and use what you already have. E.g., it seems like you have a lot of makeup which is totally enough to last you a year, stop buying it completely and only buy the next item (such as new foundation, new mascara etc) when you completely use up all of the items that you already own. Same applies to clothes, yarn, organizers/storage and basically anything else except food and hygienic items.
It is a great way to get rid of stuff while getting enough value out of the price you paid for it and not ruining our planet by constantly going through a cycle of buying stuff, throwing it away and re-buying everything all over again
