Thanks dad, I'm really happy with the way my first hub motor build turned out. I tried to get as much information as I could, so anyone who wants to do a DIY ebike build knows how to put one together. Thank you for watching and commenting, as you know how much it means and is truly appreciated 😎👍
Oh yes , no more stress, just fun and convenience, especially in the summertime, it comes with a free suntan 😂 Thank you for watching and commenting as it's very much appreciated 😎👍
You know me, mate, lol I'm glad you enjoyed that build video Trust me, when you put your mind to something its easy than you first thought. Thanks for watching and commenting. As you know, it means a lot and is always appreciated, sir. All the best, and you have a great day too 😎👍
Thank you, brother, that means a lot to me. I get loads of knowledge from watching your videos. I'm sure your customers will enjoy every minute of being on one of your builds. Appreciate you watching and commenting 😎👍💯
Nice and pretty quick build. How does the hub motor feel compared to the mid drives? Is it louder or quieter and does it have the power to get up hills? Can it be cycled with the motor off?
Thank you. It's really good straight out of the box, and taking it for a quick ride, I found it to be quieter than the middrive. If I had to compare the mid drive to hub, I would say the mid drive has the pull away power over hub, but overall, I would say they are very similar at the top end from stock with no mods on a flat surface. Going up hills remains to be seen as I've not tried that yet, as for off-road. I have yet to try out the hub motor to see what it can do going up hills, but I'm sure I'll do a video on that. It can be cycled with the motor off, but I would only do that if I had no choice, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting, as it's very much appreciated 😎👍
Looks like you kept the existing brakes from your bike, is this correct? I have the same bike and my e-bike kit came with new brakes, so I’m trying to figure out what to do with my brakes. Great informative video, thanks.
@sassygmt You are absolutely correct, sir. I felt the brakes on the bike were good enough, so I just left on alone. Kept the brakes that came with the kit. The problem I had is that they are for cable brakes, not so for hydraulic brakes. Thanks for the good feedback, as I hope to help anyone out there fitting their own conversion kit. Appreciate the watch and comment. Take care out there. All the best 😎👍
Hey mate, the police have started seizing self built ebikes in Manchester now, watched them take a deliveroos bike the other day because it was "modified" and had a throttle. Mines been off the road for a couple of months, not sure I want to risk it now.
I've never had any trouble, and I've driven past tones of old bill. I appreciate the fact that they could potentially take away your bike, especially if its modded up to the nines with wires handing out all over the place, drawing attention to it. I've even spoken to a riot van full up and asked for directions, and not one of them said anything about the bike I was on. I think they have to be seen doing something, and unfortunately, delivery riders are an easy target as they all hang around fast food places. It's rare to see someone getting pulled up unless you're riding like a nutter blasting through red lights and acting silly on the bike. When I see them, I just peddle and take it easy. Please don't be discouraged as there are 1000s of ebike riding around everywhere. Always appreciated the heads up. This also may be of interest to you, but they may be upping the legal limit to 500 watts, but we'll see how that pans out. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎👍
Thanks for the heads up, mate. I will switch that around tomorrow. Loads of fun putting it together and was surprised at how fast it was. Will definitely sort out a couple of things on it as I dont really want to keep the controller in a bag, but it will do for now. Thanks for the watch and comment 😎👍.
Great vid. I'm assuming it's a direct drive kit due to the thinness of the motor. I'm glad you wore the safety crocs. Safety first! If needed you could theoretically drill just another hole into the frame for a third screw if the battery plate seems to be a bit floppy in the future. I'm sure it's an aluminum frame which is easy to drill through.
Thank you, you are absolutely right, of course. It's not a bad little motor to honest. The first test ride went well, but I will do a range test to see if there are any issues that may need to be looked at. I've been watching your videos, and your sense of humour still had me laughing away. Your Jansno X50 V2 ebike is really good. How are you finding it after a bit of ride time on it?
@@electrocycle1977 I'm going to do a 2000km(I'm at 1873km) review. Just popped the CST Big Boat street tires on it and it's like night and day as far as smoothness, I've also seem to accelerate a little faster and picked up a km or two per hour with the less rolling resistance and holds more speed as the battery goes down. I may do a video tomorrow it's been really crappy weather lately here. What is mind boggling is that the Big Boats are the same price as the BFT knobbies. So why the f$ck would they put the knobbies on a street bike? With the street bike tires it feels like a $1500 bike, not a $1000 bike.
@chrissinclair8705 Good luck on the 2000km. I'm sure you will make it. And you're right about the tires as it makes no sense at all. At least you've changed them and are now starting to reap the benefits of having decent street tries on the bike. Look forward to seeing the video and watching your accomplish your goal. Good luck from your fellow ebiker, and may you get some good weather on your ride😎👍
@chrissinclair8705 150km oh boy, at least your daily transport is there whenever you need it, which is always a plus. You're a trooper on an ebike, lol. I tried to commute to work, but where I live near arterial roads, which are basically (A) roads, and they start at 50mph up to 70mph and being in a cycle lane when they zoom past is not a nice feeling. It's always a pleasure talking with Chris. Have a good day, sir 😎👍
That's exactly what I would have done. More voltage is always a good thing 😂 I'm looking to upgrade my battery, too, hopefully soon, but as you know, they cost a pretty penny. I was looking at Cell supply for some 21700 Samsung 50S cells. I'm looking to make my own 72v battery. If possible, the quality of the cells makes such a difference in performance. Let me know how you get on with the 60v battery, please.
How's it working out for you so far? 1500w is a decent amount of power. Is it smooth? Are you able to mount it ok with those aluminum drop outs? First quality video.
@chrissinclair8705 The 1500w is great, and it's really smooth too. It fits well in the dropouts with a little persuasion if you catch my my drift. I've yet to still take it on a range test because i had to lend the battery to a friend of mine who was in desperate need of the battery. I'm in the process of making another 52v battery as we speak, so hopefully, it won't be too long. Thank you as always my fellow ebiker. Take care out there. All the best 😎👍

Maybe some torque arms on both sides of the rear wheel may give you a little more confidence. Can't post them here, but steel vs aluminum...Yeah may always not work out.
@chrissinclair8705 i totally agree about the torque, I tried fitting it but found that the pinnier rack arms were in the way, and I will have to remove the rack in order to for the the torque arm and move the controller into another position which isn't a problem. Thank you for all your help and advice as it's very much appreciated 👍
It's a 52v 17.5 ah, but I haven't had the chance to take a ride to see how many miles I can get out of it yet, but I'm hoping for at least 30 miles out of it
hello! I wanted to ask you how do you deal with flat tires?! I keep getting flats, i got my third one and i cant see any screw on the tire... anyone help?
@umi.1498 hi, sorry to hear you keep getting a flat tire. You have a few options. You should check the inside of the tire and if you feel anything sharp as this may be causing you this problem. The other options are to check out puncher resistant tires like the Schwalbe brand they have loads of different styles.
@@electrocycle1977 I think you'll do quite well in that video' to many people do build videos then just say "Range Varies". I'd rather here it how it is because I'm trying to buy a kit for range but a lot of factory stats and build videos are very contradicting.

A good kit is the voilamart 1500w waterproof connectors, and the controller box is built into the hub motor, making the installation very tidy .
@kennyk4134 That would make the build so tidy not having a controller stuck in the frame of the bike😎👍💯
