North africans had cornrows and box braids too and they don’t consider themselves black. My paternal grandpa is 75% Morrocan and 25% nigerian and trust me he told me that North africans don’t consider themselves black. African braids started before Christ era. North Africans had cornrows and black Africans had cornrows. They actually started in Ethiopia though. I read about cornrows and these are facts. Yes cornrows hold deep history for African americans due to slavery but they didn’t start during that period. They started long before. Also Ancient Greek and Romans had cornrows too as they were very inspired by Ancient Egypt

Honey, do you know what it means to have 4c hair. It takes me 2 days completely devoted to my wash day routing I'm not exaggerating. Then ones a month, if you're like me and has short hair and no wig, you have to sit for 7 hrs or more straight to weave of hair and of course pay.

I knew that they carried seeds with them but I didn't know it was braided into the hair. They used Vaseline to keep lice, bowevils,roaches, bedbugs etc out of the hair.

I am bengali and I never understood why black woman got angry at other races for appropating their hair, I was always confused and thought it’s just hair like what’s the big deal. I am so glad I watched this video, wow I never knew this and they never teach us this in schools. I just cried watching this the fact that they have to eat food by placing it in hair. So inhumane what black people went through.

Honey, do you know what it means to have 4c hair. It takes me 2 days completely devoted to my wash day routing I'm not exaggerating. Then ones a month, if you're like me and has short hair and no wig, you have to sit for 7 hrs or more straight to weave of hair and of course pay.
