Adriaan Groeneveld The two products are designed for different purposes. The Parf system is intended to be used to create a very accurate 96mm x 96mm grid identical in usage to the Festool MFT system. The LR32 is designed to Quickly and accurately place holes at 32mm increments in known (and easily reproducible) locations in reference to top, bottom and sides of your target workpiece. Having said that, I own (and love) both systems. The Parf system is ideal for creating a new work surface, but would be unbearably slow to try to use in cabinet making. The LR32 is probably just as accurate as the Parf when making a row of holes (and much, much, much faster), but it couldn’t create an similarly accurate grid without some extra tools and setup.
Thank you so much sedge for this video. I have just purchased the LR32 system kit and looking forward to expanding my abilities in my home workshop in Sydney Australia. Your videos have made my transition to much easier with your explanations and demonstrations
Thank you Sedge for doing another great training session. What really comes through is your devotion to the craft and to us. Thanks to Festool for creating such incredible systems and building them perfectly.
My LR32 system is arriving tomorrow. Figured I’d get a head start and watch so I know what to do when I get it. So excited. I feel better prepared now. Already have the OF 1400 and have been using it. I always go to your videos and Jason’s to get educated. I am super excited to do my shelf pins…. But also my drawers. OMG! Just finished a simple 4 drawer small cabinet for my drill press. Drilling for my drawer guides is the worst. I also can see it will make me enjoying doing the doors more as well .
Love my LR32 system! I use it all the time, yet, I still picked up tips and tricks from this video! I'd love to see a video on using the LR32 system for making a new MFT top with a 20mm bit on the OF1400! I mean, it's a 96mm spacing, so ever third hole, right? Should be simple and easy! Love ya, Sedge! You are the man!
At 44:10 you clamped the 32 up and out to the top to the door panel. Doing so, how do you account for the 2mm reveal since you said earlier that you cut the door to 764mm. Were you suppose to use the 2mm edge banding material between the stop and the top edge of the door? Thanks for your videos. Learning alot.
Boo hoo! I missed the live Sedge presentation, but thank goodness, I can enjoy the replay. I absolutely LOVE using the LR 32 system with my 1400 router.
I bought the 1010 and after using the LR32 system I decided to buy a 1400. Now the 1010 is strictly my LR32 router all set up and ready to go. I live having both. I also use 2 DeWalt 20volt smaller units. With those is don't need the 70 for edging.
Another awesome video Sedge. I watched this a year ago, before I purchased the Festool shelf pin system, and now that I have one, I can go back and watch this video again to refresh my memory. Thank you guys/gals for taking the time to do these videos, I know it's not easy. Anyone know where I can get those screwless hinges, can't find them anywhere?
good demo on the domino 500 , have both tools mostly use the 500 bought all the kits for both systems excellent capabilities , your show is very good I pick up those tricks and tips, looking forward in your next video.
Hi There, I bought the LR32 system kit, but the plate holes do not match my OF 1010 EBQ base. Can you please advise about this? Thank you and happy new year!!
Hey Sedge, great explanation and demonstration of the LR32. I would like to clarify something, given that the door was cut 4mm shorter than the cabinet you had a 2mm spacer which I assume you placed between the door and the end-stop to keep the correct 80mm cup hinge offset, is that correct?
Love the video’s and you guys are getting better every video. And I have been waiting for a detailed video on this topic so thank. I just have one request.... Can you add some additional lighting? There have been several video’s that you have been pointing to something or doing an explanation and I can’t see what you are pointing to or it is in a shadow. I apologize for the criticism and as I said I love the video’s and you are all doing a great job. My favorite video each week! Ron
Sedge What tape measure are you using? I saw that it has millimeter / centimeter and inches. I have yet to come across a tape that has the marks at 32mm.
Sedge, Love what you all are presenting and learning a lot! A quick question, you said 80mm from the top, but I missed what you said from the bottom of the cabinet? Thanks again, can not wait till next Friday!!
@Brent-i know this might not be on topic but i finally ordered the festool pre seperator today but i still cant find any info on the hose diameter from the extractor to the pre seperator. It would be nice to know from an interest point of view. Sorry to deviate from the topic but i already use the LR 32 system. Biggest Festool fan in South Africa
Brent Shrively’s name is in blue, with a spanner beside it. I have notice this in other live chats. Can someone explain the significance of the blue text and spanner. Thanks
Hi Sedge, couple questions, by the way another brilliant instructional video! Who manufactures the clip on hinge plate? The tape with the diamonds on it who's make is it? Steve, in Leeds, UK.
manuj mundhada Not a bad idea. It would be easy enough to make a plate to ride on the LR-32 rail and router plate and make it so the DF 500 or 700 XL is flipped upside down and you could have very accurate placement control of the domino’s....
Sedge. I wonder why festool is professing to use LR32 system the way its shown in video. Why not use full capacity of festool system(MFT/3). I normally attach LR32 rail to mft instead of normal rail. This way you save lot of time. You dont need to move rail and use clamps. Speed is tripled. No need for vacuum sys.
Thanks for the excellent series. Like another comment made, I prefer you in subdued mode. The eye roll and the joke about collecting soda glasses was classic deadpan humour. I was never a fan of Jerry Lewis style of screeching humour, and find it very distracting when you indulge in that style of commentary. You are a class act Brian, and deserving of our respect, so it is with the utmost kindness and consideration that I suggest you give the class clown aspect a rest.
Thank you Festool for the videos but can you put a limiting switch on his high-pitched squealing those of us that like to watch things but late at night I have the volume set so we don’t wake anybody up is the one time we can have to watch and maybe learn something and then he hast to yell and squeal and let’s just say if you’re watching something at 1:30 in the morning and he does that it’s not helpful the UK versions don’t have any yelling or squealing only thing is there’s no translation otherwise I would watch all of those
I can’t stand when people do the “car salesman” pitch. Coming from an avid Festool user, lose the dramatic performance and stick to the facts and you’ll sell a lot more products
Sedge think about our ears. STOP those little high pitched sounds you make when getting excited. You are not a yelling kid or are you?! IT IS REALLY IRRITATING YOU DON'T GET THE HINDS WE GIVE YOU. The information is wonderful, but do it in a way we don't hurt our ears. Also a shame you don't respond to the reactions that are written.
Great tips, but the presenter is not doing Festool any favours. Some people are funny, and others try to be funny. This guy, unfortunately, falls into the last category. I watch these videos for education, not for entertainment by a wannabe stand up comedian.
I think this is the first LR32 video I've seen that actually made sense. Thank you!!!
Curious to know and hear how exact these holes will be separate from each other in comparison to the Parf Guide System. Did anyone try?

I’m with you on that. Making a video on making an MFT top with with the LR32 system would be excellent!

Which tape measure has the marks at the 32mm increments? Having one would be great to be sure I am always cutting/making my panels balanced.
Love the tip on the clamp
Sedge, you have great timing! I'm making my shopping list right now.
Sehr gutes Video, super erklärt und gute Tipps gegeben. Viele Grüße aus Deutschland.

thank you sedge i love your videos you do i have watch every one brilliant thank you
paul from the uk
Great video! so many little questions answered for me, Thank you!! keep it up
Great content Sedge! Too bad the cameraman doesn’t give a hoot that we can’t see the intricate details you’re pointing out.
Thank you - very informative. What cabinet tape measure is Sedge using, and what type of hinges are those that just click into the pinholes?
Hi There, I bought the LR32 system kit, but the plate holes do not match my OF 1010 EBQ base. Can you please advise about this? Thank you and happy new year!!
Greetings from Flanders !
Love to hear this guy at a Bruins game.
Exactly, a Bostonian doing a Bruins game. I'm in Florida now but I miss the accent.
Can you use this system to drill for the screws or push in hinge holes on the sides of the hinge cup?
Hey Sedge, great explanation and demonstration of the LR32. I would like to clarify something, given that the door was cut 4mm shorter than the cabinet you had a 2mm spacer which I assume you placed between the door and the end-stop to keep the correct 80mm cup hinge offset, is that correct?
I make custom size cabinets but from now on I'm gonna make sure they're a multiple of 32mm. So much easier
Graham from Sydney, Australia says hello and thanks for the series. Time zones don't work for the live feed which isa bummer.
Can someone at Festool Do a demo of the LR 32 Sys routing shelf pin holes into narrow stock ?
Love the video’s and you guys are getting better every video. And I have been waiting for a detailed video on this topic so thank. I just have one request.... Can you add some additional lighting? Great video. Maybe I will do better with the my LR 32. What was the 2mm spacer for?
The 2mm spacer is for the reveal top and bottom of the allowance of the door to the cabinet!
What if you have the upper cabinet to be 914mm Can you still use the lr32 system
Sedge What tape measure are you using? I saw that it has millimeter / centimeter and inches. I have yet to come across a tape that has the marks at 32mm.
Why is there a 9.5 marking?
Thanks again!
Why is there no adapter for the OF 2200 router?
Hey, I’m watching Tough as Nails and I thought I saw the contestants using your tools. Was I seeing things?
What kind of hinges you using?
What brand hinge is that? No screws. What are they called ?
Hi there! they are blum Inserta hinges!
Sedge, Love what you all are presenting and learning a lot! A quick question, you said 80mm from the top, but I missed what you said from the bottom of the cabinet? Thanks again, can not wait till next Friday!!
80 mm from the top and bottom for the first hole for the hinge plate.
Lol, I love this guy!
You didn't use the 2mm spacer
@Brent-i know this might not be on topic but i finally ordered the festool pre seperator today but i still cant find any info on the hose diameter from the extractor to the pre seperator. @Garron Steele The hose diameter from the extractor to the pre perpetrator is a 32mm hose. Thanks for the question!
Boy he should try the kreg jig for this. This is WAY to complicated.
Brent Shrively’s name is in blue, with a spanner beside it.
I have notice this in other live chats.
Can someone explain the significance of the blue text and spanner. Thanks
Probably an administrator
Also, your performance makes people think this is a sadly performed “infomercial”…..waiting for you to say….”and there’s more”!
Hi Sedge, couple questions, by the way another brilliant instructional video!
Who manufactures the clip on hinge plate?
The tape with the diamonds on it who's make is it?
Steve, in Leeds, UK.
Same question on that hinge...I am searching, but can’t seem to find it.
I guess the hinges are from Blum, check www.blum.com. They have a very nice range of hinges.
FastCap for the tape measure. Don’t know about the hinge.
@@adriaan7627 Hi Thanks for the info just ordered one!
Steve
Chuck Wieland hi the hinges are Blum Inserta
Steve
Festool should develop similar system for domino

Just another used car salesman
I lasted about a minute of this before closing. Cringeworthy......

just take a jig from Blum and its takes 2 minutes to drill the hols .Ithink its useless tools from festool
this guy is sickening
Stop using metric you in the USA
