Started watching the LR32 videos last night. Mine comes today. So excited.
Bonus... I have that fastcap tape measure already (thanks Jason Bents for the recommendation!). I had no idea that it had the 32mm marks on it. So glad to find that out. I just finished doing two pieces. One with four drawers. One with six. I'm so excited that I will have my LR32 for the next piece. I even tried to make a jig to help with the drawers. This is going to totally make things easier. I just checked the drawer slides I have. YES! They have that hole right in the right place! Gotta go look for my door hinges. AND... time to go cut a balanced panel so I can practice. Maybe I'll make a sys port.

Love using the European 32 mm standard and my LR32 system. I'm just a rookie but it's sooo easy!

Where do you get 30-1/4 as a standard upper cab8net in the US? It’s a 30” then there are 36” , and then 42” 😁

Great videos, please don’t stop. My problem here in the UK our cabinets are 720mm for of the shelf doors of 715mm so maybe me being a bit thick I can’t make balanced panels

I'm all in on the 32mm system and the L32. Could you do a video on using the 32mm pattern to do a full drawer bank installation in frameless cabinets? Thanks.

So why aren't all Festool power tools not offered in metric in the US?

  • @kerrykroberts7809
    @kerrykroberts7809 Год назад

One set of markings is only true if you center your shelf pin holes on a balanced panel. If you need holes only towards one end of the panel, then you do need two sets of markings.

Tip from my mistake. I had a perfectly balanced panel at 2432mm length but cut my rabbets and dados before using the 32mm system to rout my shelf pin holes. Problem? The depth of my cuts for the rabbets and dados were 1mm deeper than the end stops so now I no longer had a balanced panel. In the future I will ensure that I either rout pin holes first or cut rabbets shallower than the stops!

What about PVC edges which adds 2 mm to the size? Sometimes you need to add those 2 mm, sometimes not. Is there any rule?

When if ever would you put the 32mm mark up and out

Hi, can I ask, I am going to use my 1400 of router on my guide rail to cut a series of start/stop slots in sheet goods for a panel in front of a fridge ventilation system and I bought 4 kick back stops so I can start and stop at the same location each time. The problem however is that when I move the rail up the sheet to cut the next slot abve the pressure one I have to painstakingly make sure the rail is the exact distance in from the edge or I will end up with a slot (exact in length as the last one) but a little to the left or right and I need them to be exactly the same.
My idea is to put a block of wood at the end of the rail but then having seen this video I noticed that you attach a bar (much like the rail joining bars) at the end acting as a stop. But you use a rail that has the series of holes for shelf pins. Can that bracket be used on a standard rail or is something similar available for standard tracks?
    Thanks

Looking for a tape that is:
    Flat
    Metric/imperial
    Has some indicator for 32mm
Thought for sure FastCap but can’t find?

It’s probably the 12 ft metric - imperial tape by Fastcap. PMS -12. Fastcap also has it in 16 feet. Since I have gone 100% metric in my cabinet work, I prefer the Fastcap True32 version of their tape. I love’em. I buy a half a dozen at a time.

@@WelshRabbit thanks for the heads up. You buy a dozen at a time?! Do they break easily?

Tundra, no. The Fastcap tapes are so good they keep disappearing. Of course I have at least one near each machine or work station in my shop, plus I give one to my employees, and to many of my friends and relatives. Do I like ‘em? You bet.
