Nobody mentioned the black tank top. Maybe it’s because Alayna’s girlfriend was there but I felt a little betrayed by the lack of mentioning how hot she was.
I really want a compilation of ashley explaining what the chosen family is and why we are watching. Pure Gold. The moment when it goes too far and alaynas face is like woah ok ok
As a German Gen X I can confirm that being on time is considered polite, best to be 5 minutes early. I Don't know if the younger generations still value this as much though
Supposed to be working rn.😏 Much love from Germany!💚🇩🇪 Update: Finished Pod, have Notes. Yes, Germany has a yuuuge stick up it's ass. I'm a Brit, but have lived here for 24 years. The safest, stablest country I know. But being a rebel is hard here.😅
1. As a single woman at Ashley's shows, all I'm thinking about is how bad of an audience member I am because I don't yell or laugh really hard. I feel this way at all comedy shows. 2. I use Google Maps because Apple Maps has steered me wrong TOO MANY TIMES. Also, I road tripped around Canada in 2017 and Apple Maps wouldn't even work, so Google it was from then on!
Sorry from Germany and thank you from Amsterdam! (I went to the show there because it was closest to me and I used to live there.) It truly is something else to see you on stage in a room that feels so massive and see you in your element. In a "I can't believe I just took a picture on my phone of that, that's something that I'd only get to see on TV"-way. What a fun episode as well! And a deep question. You guys rock!
It's so funny to me to hear someone elses opinion on germany as a german because working here is insane to me, i can't imagine just being thrown into this. It's a constant feeling of "is it really that serious" 😂
This episode was so hilarious. Definitely one of their best ones. My take on the anger thing is don't let it build up. I used to marinate in resentment. Now i start by thinking of the other person's perspective - am i justified? Do they have a point? They have their own needs that might just not meet mine. If that's not it, i address it directly as soon as I'm able to do it calmly. If i can't do that because the person has some power over me or is a faceless organisation, I do what Ashley does on stage & go into multiple high-energy rants which serve the dual purpose of catharsis & entertainment. Either way, don't bottle it up. It'll come out at some point whether you choose it or not
for the anger question: years ago when i was struggling with the same thing, the first thing my therapist said is that anger is a good sign that you are ready to heal. Because anger is a healthy reaction to going through hard, potentially traumatic, things. It was still hard to figure out because id never practiced it, but her words just made it click for me.
The _THBPTTTTTTTTT_ i produced when sweet little brother produced a WW2 joke out of nowhere... that was amazing. For the record, i also laughed at alayna's no period-only crabs.
This was amazing. Watching this right before couples therapy with my spouse is exactly what i needed. ❤ I always feel bad when i can tell Ashley isn't feeling well...but then usually laugh the hardest because she channels her pain into humor so effortlessly. THAT ENDING 😂😂😂
omg finally in-person!! Thanks for keeping me company while I cook dinner, y'all. I used to call my ~actual family~ but now I live in a weird time zone and they're usually asleep, lol.
WAAAHHHH I've been waiting for this episode ever since I saw the content you posted with each other on insta!!🥰🥰😍 The all together live podcast vibes are EVERYTHING!!😍
For the anger thing, exercising, particularly some kind of martial art/combat is very good. Contrary to what you may believe, you won't hurt anyone and it would help you to control how your anger is directed. It was very helpful for me when I was a teen. Running might also help. Depending on where you are based, rage rooms might be an option. Otherwise, wood chopping or doing something like that mght also help. One more thing, metal music, or music in general, sing to the top of your lungs. It gives you a physical and mental outlet.
Also I just use whatever map I see first on my phones screen so sometimes Apple sometimes Google and I never noticed it wasn’t the same thing until I looked while you guys talked about it😅😂
Talking about being at Ashley's shows makes me all the more excited for this fall. I have my tickets for the Buffalo appearance in November! Also, for the Patreon listener, you can't lessen anger by expressing anger, it has to be defused. Anger is a masking emotion that covers other emotions, often multiple ones. Figure out what other emotions are actually there (jealously, betrayal, guilt, grief, etc.) and address those (therapy!!!). Anger is preventing feeling these deeper and more complex emotions from being felt, so if you want to get rid of the anger, deal with the deeper feelings. Also, focus on taking care of yourself now - eat as best as you can, sleep regularly, and look for joy in your life wherever you can. It will get better, nothing lasts forever.
why does this have to end, i can watch them forever, we dont get much episodes where we see them together :(( i wanted this to be longer, the vibes when they are together are so different than virtual and the energy is just off the charts
During the pandemic, and low key due to TikTok, I couldn’t find enoki mushrooms anywhere. All the local Asian markets near me were completely sold out so I resorted to watching the videos of people eating them 😅😂 weirdly relatable
As a german, I actually agree with Ashley's analysis, really. Imagine living there and having to deal with these kinds of people and bureaucracy? It IS hell on earth.
My Grampa and Uncle were crab fishermen, so I know very well that a crab is a whole damn crab, and how to bust it all apart to get all the good bits out, but I empathize with Mak because since 100% of my crab experiences have been in-family, I would not have the slightest idea how to walk into a store and buy one. They aren`t exactly intuitive. It`s like a hard, sharp, stinky puzzle box.
I’m an Aussie that works in Germany and the Germans focus on tasks not outcome. It is highly bureaucratic, inefficient and technologically backwards. The fax machine lives on in Germany.
This is my favorite episode yet!!! I love it when you guys are in the same room together!!! Ashley, I think I may have a crush on you.... there, I said it...
Also, re: the Germans. Ashley’s observation that life is a lifetime of uncomfortable horrible emotions explains why Germans are so neurotic, they focus on perfectionism and timeliness to distract themselves from their existential dread of Ashley’s truth. ;)
As a German, Ashleys perception of germans and punctuality is so funny. It's true, being on time is running late in Germany haha. And general bureaucracy in Germany is so fucked up, but I only ever think about it when people from abroad complain about it.
bro the in-person podcast vibes are UNMATCHED I live for this
Even Alayna's ✨fiancée✨ as the live audience? This week truly is everything.
a single hotel room isn't enough to contain this much lesbian power
Mak’s girlfriend explaining to the crab place people: “everyone can cook, not everyone can eat. “
😂😂😂😂 best comment ever!!
lmao
lol, the Jewish joke while Ashley is wearing striped pajamas 💀
noooooo
OMG🤣💀
LMAO NOOOOOOOOO
i really hope ashley sees this comment
@ashleygavin
When Mak said "why'd you put Mak in the corner?" Only thing I could think was "nobody puts Baby in the corner!" 😂
I really appreciate how this podcast has helped to simulate the experience of being a child of divorce
Lol this is the best possible outcome of divorce
LMAO
“Bro stop, I’m going to come“ that was so funny lol
the ordering a crab and not expecting to get a crab is cracking me up i love this
But it's not cracking up the crab...
Nobody mentioned the black tank top. Maybe it’s because Alayna’s girlfriend was there but I felt a little betrayed by the lack of mentioning how hot she was.
Lol to be fair, I like it when Ashley points out the parasocial 😂 reality checks are important lol
I love that mak is the youngest but has amazing dad jokes
Alayna's crabs and period joke was flawless! My wife and I laughed so hard. This episode is amazing!
Mak: „I don‘t think I actually have autism“ also mak: „umm that is too much eye contact for me. No eye contact pls.“
I really want a compilation of ashley explaining what the chosen family is and why we are watching. Pure Gold. The moment when it goes too far and alaynas face is like woah ok ok
41:08 every time Ashley says “DUMB” I cannot breathe
trashing apple maps is the content i am here for truly
49:28 the way it endeeeeeeed!! I'm dyyyyyyyyying 🤣💀💀💀💀💀
Maks hilarious album cover joke went unnoticed! 😂
I literally burst out laughing and was expecting another AshGav high five but it didn't happen LOL
10:26 Mak the Menace came back for a moment 😂
I can’t believe they put mak in a chair!!!!!
is there lore I’m forgetting?
Nobody puts baby in the corner.
37:54 I've never laughed so hard at this podcast. It was perfect. Especially that no one adressed it.
37:55 Ashley filling in for Fulton 🐈⬛️
21:13 the shock on Ashley’s face I can’t-
All single lesbians will be standing on chairs at your shows now 😂
As a German Gen X I can confirm that being on time is considered polite, best to be 5 minutes early. I Don't know if the younger generations still value this as much though
in germany they do. trust me.
2:46 god Ashley you didn’t have to call me (us) out so hard that early on
"You guys were *SO EXCITED* to do this 😂😂😂😂😂"
"Well yeah❤?"
Supposed to be working rn.😏 Much love from Germany!💚🇩🇪
Update: Finished Pod, have Notes.
Yes, Germany has a yuuuge stick up it's ass. I'm a Brit, but have lived here for 24 years. The safest, stablest country I know. But being a rebel is hard here.😅
This was next level chaos and I couldn't get enough.
49:26 Another one for the 'best moments' list, methinks.
They're too powerful all together, be afraid, be very afraid
25:15 "Sorry I'm too distracted by the point I'm about to make" 😂
I binge watched nearly sixty episodes. This is for sure my favorite pod.
Technically it is 4 Gays 1 hotel room because Alayna's girlfriend is also in the room. lol
Ashley giving out free foot content!
I love how unhinged you three get in a hotel room.
1. As a single woman at Ashley's shows, all I'm thinking about is how bad of an audience member I am because I don't yell or laugh really hard. I feel this way at all comedy shows. 2. I use Google Maps because Apple Maps has steered me wrong TOO MANY TIMES. Also, I road tripped around Canada in 2017 and Apple Maps wouldn't even work, so Google it was from then on!
dont feel bad, i dont want you to yell lol, so i really appreciated it!
A glimpse of what Mac is like off camera? 21:07

For the anger question, why not go to a rage room? You can go to a room where you can smash stuff and scream all you want
I've wanted to do this ever since I heard it was a thing (s/o Amy and Tammy Slaton lol) have you done it? Was it good?
Not the ‘this is my album cover’ during the Alayna GF reveal omg 😅
As a single woman who’s been to Ashley’s show I feel absolutely attacked mak and your completely 100% right too
y'all didn't say anything about what you ate today for dinner, but I'm sure it was a crab!! LMAOO
Pssy!
"Was there a bib? .... Then you're getting a whole crab." Ashley kills me. 😂😂😂😂😂
OMG THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST ENDING TO A PODCAST EVER LMAAAOOO
The chaotic energy of this pod was amazing, it's really lovely to see you guys all together and really adds to the pod!
BEST ENDING EVER LMAO
Ashley’s face when Mak said, “I take walks” 😂
“DID THEY BRING OUT THE WHOLE PIZZA AND MAKE YOU CUT IT” was WILD 🤣 Ashley’s savagery has me dying
The chaos of the family being together is top tier ✨
I could watch this for hours. Please do more together in person I loooooved it
petition for more in person podcast episodes
I actually use a compass and wind direction to get where I’m going
I love to scream in my car or in the middle of the woods to get anger out
This was so fun! Ashley was so funny with her face in the other camera angle 😂 so proud you loved amsterdam! Not suprised, it is a really unique city!
It's so funny to me to hear someone elses opinion on germany as a german because working here is insane to me, i can't imagine just being thrown into this. It's a constant feeling of "is it really that serious" 😂
I knew Alayna’s girlfriend being in the back ground but still made me excited when I heard her voice! Alayna little laugh and compliments to her gf! ❤
This episode was so hilarious. Definitely one of their best ones. My take on the anger thing is don't let it build up. I used to marinate in resentment. watched this on my way home and i literally have to control myself from laughing so hard in the bus hahahahaha
The _THBPTTTTTTTTT_ i produced when sweet little brother produced a WW2 joke out of nowhere... that was amazing.
For the record, i also laughed at alayna's no period-only crabs.
Me too
This was amazing. Watching this right before couples therapy with my spouse is exactly what i needed. ❤

THAT ENDING 😂😂😂
omg finally in-person!!
Thanks for keeping me company while I cook dinner, y'all. I used to call my ~actual family~ but now I live in a weird time zone and they're usually asleep, lol.
I want to win that immersion shattering sit in pod cast viewing!!
As a German not living in Germany I just pissed my pants 😂
WAAAHHHH I've been waiting for this episode ever since I saw the content you posted with each other on insta!!🥰🥰😍 The all together live podcast vibes are EVERYTHING!!😍
No but the comedic timing of Mac's whey joke and the ad was everything
how long until betterhelp spots stop?? first i was like "probably signed up for x runs" but it's been way too long now
For the anger thing, exercising, particularly some kind of martial art/combat is very good.
Yeh. Listening to aggressive music is a safe way to vent or experience emotions.
The “I’ll eat whey” “Yeah, whey good!” Right before the ad break would’ve been a perfect cut to a Hellofresh ad
Alayna competing with Mak at the end for who is more in awe of Ashley 😂
I LOVE that you have the convos that are real and raw ON the podcast not off air.
Also I just use whatever map I see first on my phones screen so sometimes Apple sometimes Google and I never noticed it wasn’t the same thing until I looked while you guys talked about it😅😂
As a Marylander, the best crab comes to the table whole. I was so confused at Mak’s shock!
Talking about being at Ashley's shows makes me all the more excited for this fall. I have my tickets for the Buffalo appearance in November!

“Guys stop im gonna come” *end of podcast* 🤣😂🤣
Lowkey my favorite episode so far
the outro had me in tears of laughter for a full minute after.
Yeah, I relate to this in Belgium
I got so excited when I realized it was wednesday again! Also you three look so good
My Grampa and Uncle were crab fishermen, so I know very well that a crab is a whole damn crab, and how to bust it all apart to get all the good bits out, but I empathize with Mak because since 100% of my crab experiences have been in-family, I would not have the slightest idea how to walk into a store and buy one. This was something! Always a special event when anyone is together 🎉
In person podcast was the greatest thing ever after the day ive had!
You forgot to say you had crabs for dinner. It was great seeing you all together. I loved the ending!
ALSO mak yoyr joke at 21:11 made me so happy!!!!!
This is so funny cuz I haven't watched you guys since episode 50 (i have a lot to catch up on), but ur intros are still a mess and I LOVE IT
I always use Google maps. I am a taxi driver for my job. It always gets me to my destination within 50 feet. Love ya all
That might be the most unhinged final line of this podcast so far 😂
I’m an Aussie that works in Germany and the Germans focus on tasks not outcome. It is highly bureaucratic, inefficient and technologically backwards. The fax machine lives on in Germany.
This is my favorite episode yet!!! I love it when you guys are in the same room together!!! Ashley, I think I may have a crush on you.... there, I said it...
No bc the “anyone can cook but not everyone can eat” is soooo funny, would definitely get the shirt!!😭😭😭😭
This is such a great pod, the in-person energy is so good. You know, for a live podcast... that's recorded... and then edited. ;)
Also, re: the Germans. Ashley’s observation that life is a lifetime of uncomfortable horrible emotions explains why Germans are so neurotic, they focus on perfectionism and timeliness to distract themselves from their existential dread of Ashley’s truth. ;)
Never been so excited
I literally yelled "they are doing an in person episode" and my brother looked at me concerned 😅
Mak's German joke made me CREASE
i didnt even know apple maps existed lol
‘That’s like, my Ashley!’ 🥹
3 gays 1 hotel room could be a whole other pod lol!
Team Google Maps as well. I am glad other people are as passionate about this topic as I am.
As a new fan lmao first four minutes I was called out and def needed 😅 will these hotel pods happen again?
21:10 is such a mic drop, fantastic job mak 😎
As a German, Ashleys perception of germans and punctuality is so funny. It's true, being on time is running late in Germany haha. And general bureaucracy in Germany is so fucked up, but I only ever think about it when people from abroad complain about it.
