@@theronerdithas2944 Ask GM what level is the most fun to play chess and they'll tell you it is around 1500. My man knows this truth and refuses to leave the zane for our glorious entertainment.
NL plays the most relatable chess. Getting carried away by analyzing complicated lines for like two minutes straight like a supercomputer, only to regret wasting his time and move his bishop one square back.
@@samuelsisti4849 How would that make him move slower? He already drags pieces which is considered the faster method than click two squares. Using drag only would just eliminate misclicks where he didn't mean to move which actually might eliminate some cautiousness around mouse movement and let him go faster.
@@mattland3924 I don't see how dragging pieces would be any faster or slower than clicking. You have to move the mouse the same amount of distance either way. Plus I've had misclicks even by using the dragging method by releasing the piece on the wrong square.
@@UngodlyFreak I think It can be slightly faster because you just have to click then release instead of click, release, then click again which can make a difference if you have fast mouse speed especially for short moves. At worst it's equal definitely not slower like Samuel suggested which is why I replied to him. Of course both methods can have misclicks/mouse slips although I find dragging is more intuitive and a bit faster and all the top players like Hikaru and Danya seem to agree. The point was that you shouldn't have both methods enabled at the same time which is the default if you only use one method. NL only ever drags and would prevent misclicks from two clicks if he used Drag Pieces Only.
Best chess episode in the recent arc!!! That lightning win with 12 seconds left was amazing! The final game being neck and neck until the blunder-resign I was so happy NL was on the other side of that for once lol!!
I'm only 3 and a half minutes in and I was thinking about saying something about changing your controls to prevent mis-clicks but you know what it's content baybeeeee. Loving the chess content, thank you bunches.
Loving the chess content! Ngl, I love the mentality of "I'm not looking to play perfect games, I'm looking to have fun." It definitely gives me a sliver of copium for the return of bespoke youtube StS videos >.>;
I make the best move every time yeah, when your not around. Stimilate my mind i can beat you in chess blind yeah. Worry bout the best move, its way to hard yeah, its way to hard yeah. I make the best move every time yeah, when your not around.
NL running through potential lines to arrive at a mis-click move is *chef's kiss*
@Cry the opponent doesn't lose the bishop because there's Be7 after the check. still a strong move tho
The psychotic "no analysis" arc is really coming along great.
Refusing to learn from ones mistakes is the sign of a true master.
Never study, never analyse, no openings, no gambits, always down on time, missclicks guaranteed, minimum 5 blunders per game LOOKS LIKE RYAN

You love to see the massive swings between arrogance and humility
"They can't checkmate me..... Ahhhhh I got checkmated!!" Classic
I see Chess, I say, "Yes."
so true
Such a simple yet infinitely confusing game. I love and hate chess.
Yes
Yes
"Am I still in the gambit?" I ask myself the same question everyday
"You protected the pawn but at what cost ... I've been there Steven." I died laughing.
I love that 'castle queen-side' is considered a 'zoomer move' in this game that is well over 1000 years old lol

The passed pawn crisis turned into a masterful quick-thinking checkmate - bravo!
I love how nl only does an analysis when he wins
it's his drug, copium
NL you can use the Drag Pieces Only move method in the settings to avoid misclicks like that first game.
While that is a great idea, that would require NL to ever open a settings menu lmao
Don't make him move any slower hahah

I love these chess videos, but for the first game I couldn't help but feel like screaming at my screen "MOVE THE DAMN PAWNS"
10:41 "We got a little classic Pippi Longcastle situation."

both his Rooks to the 2nd or the 7th

"I protected the pawn."
"What did it cost?"
"Everything.
NL is the first person to ever lose to the Tennison Gambit. and somehow it was more beautiful than the ICBM variation
"I must be missing something" - I am literally crying at my monitor ahahaha
that rook queen pre move game was awesome holy shit, it's like you function better under duress
Impressive end game quick fire at the end there. Nice Egg
Like we always say: "You can't spell chess without Ryan Letourneau" or something like that.
The cavalier manner in which you play f3 is so frightening to me god bless
overclocking his neocortex to squeeze out that tight win, pogs galore

Pog chess but you have a long way to go to reach your previous peack
I honestly prefer the analysis to the actual games
you should play 5+3 on lichess, you get a game fast and it would suit your blitzgames. +3 makes such a adifference

21:27, Bc4 would threaten queen and put you in a good place for a rook swap
Bishop wasn't protected on that square, the queen would just capture it

Skewer

you should play the low-rated subscribers
I really wanna see NL play with a good teacher like Danya or Ben Finegold and try competing over the board.
He's had a few lessons with Levy so I would guess that's who he would pick if the option was there but Danya is also fantastic at teaching.
@@Kyledishgambin0 I don’t know if
