The difficulty of the game is pretty hard, but I love it. I don’t constrain myself to arbitrary rules like “no spirit ashes” and “no summons” and I’m having a blast.

Also at some point Max talks about Radahn being nerfed in the base game, but if I remember correctly, his damages have been nerfed by accident for few weeks before getting fixed again. The diffrence between Day1 Radahn and the one we can fight now is the tracking of his arrow rain and the hitbox of his meteor. That big boss bear with the red fur reminds me of Akakaboto (the red helmet), from an anime called "Silver Fang" 🤔 Though, Akakaboto only have ONE eye, and not two. 😏
There's only one thing I disagree on what Max said on his take here 1:09:53. The default difficulty of this game is the one where you use summons that's why it's available in most bosses and area, that's why there are summon upgrades everywhere especially in the dlc. There's also a reason why most youtubers and streamers always title their video with "no summons". the rest of what he said I wholeheartedly agree.
This gam, DLC included, is still hailed as a masterpiece. Is it too hard for you? Use summons. Don wanna? There's still the most broken weapons in the game that you can use like the whatever katana; I just got thru watching a streamer beat the moon knight in TWO TRIES! She used magic & summons, all maxed out, PLUS she used the most broken katana in the game. Anyone complaining about the difficulty, I seriously hope Miyazaki & Co ignore the complainers who want everything their way; making gamers feel entitled will only hurt the industry; these are FROMSOFT games folks; a challenging gaming experience is what it's all about, & I LOVE Max's attitude about it.

Some day Max will learn that any weapon pretty much below C initial scaling can be infused for any scaling you currently have and be used at full effect. I'm still surprised how little, if at all, he plays with the Ash of War/infusion system
Heck tbh you can use any weapon you can infuse on any build, especially physical damage weapons. This system is so much more free and flexible than any of the previous games
There's definitely a difference between new game plus and the vanilla game when it comes to the DLC. When you got those two lobsters, I got one, and when you fought those three scorpions, I got one. I've noticed a few things like this along your playthrough.
So I've been watching Max's gameplay and info videos for over eight years now. I just noticed he doesn't use a headset and yet his Mic only records his voice and not sound from anywhere else. How did you get the mic to not echo the ingame audio?
Not sure how Max exactly does it but one way is to use a directional mic, noise gate and limit the speaker volume, it isn’t perfect but if your room is also sound treated the mic wont pick up any background noises
The mic he’s using is Shure SM7B, they’re known to be one of the best microphones in the music business for recording vocals. Most Podcasts use them these days too. I have one for recording vocals and I use it in a big open room, yet it doesn’t pick up any of the echo or reverberation. It’s also great at not picking up loud sounds around you, like speaker noise from your tv/game audio. I highly recommend getting one!
I don't give a shit if people use summons it's that the boss encounters were clearly designed with the idea that the player will be using summons. This leads to the bosses having lots of AOE attacks, wide sweeping attacks, big attacks with splash damage, and long combo strings. This leads to bosses being tedious and often frustrating.
I can see your point to some extent here. It’s a shame that the bosses were designed the way they were. I guess it would be hard to have bosses act differently and have separate attacks for people using summons or spirit ashes vs people who aren’t.
People said that exact thing about base Elden Ring too and now most of those bosses are relatively simple. Give it a few months and a few playthroughs and you'll soon be just as proficient with DLC bosses as with the main game bosses.
