I wound up with a 500 case, I'm pretty sure it's a Shulaner but it has individual slots rather than the 3 pencil slots (my fingers can't deal, I still have to get a replacement for my Black Widows because I can't stand using them strictly because of the case and they're some of my favorite pencils). I'm keeping the metallics in a small wallet that fits in the front pocket. Thanks for your help with the shopping yesterday, I appreciate you. ❤❤❤

I love the set. It is not overwhelming for me at all.. its my go to set. Great cases for the brutfuner 520. I used 2-260 cases. And left mine in numerical order. Also put stickers for numbers on the ends of pencils. I need to do a video. What a great idea of numbering them on the elastic! Tfs

Honestly to have 520 pencils of the same brand, it would overwhelm me so that I wouldn't even be able to touch them. And especially because these are not so amazing pencils, it's just that they have a good price, but that's because they are budget. But that's just my opinion. I go for quality not quantity. The biggest set i have is the 150 set of Prismas and that's a lot. I also have the 100 set of Luminance because I saved the money, I know they are good pencils it's worth the investment. Now if Prisma would have a set of 520 with the quality they use to have, I would definitely buy them and probably won't use anything else. But again, that's just me. There is one set that I regret buying, even though I paid a very good price, it's the Polychromos, because they are too hard for my hand. There was so much hype about them, but I think they are overrated. I have them nicely organized, but never use them, just swatch them. I actually would sell them if I can. There are only a couple budget pencils I like, one is the Amazon Basics 72 set, they are similar to the Prismas, they are very nice. And the Arrtx which now have 126 pencils, also similar to Prismas. The Staetdler ultra soft pencils are also very nice. Anyway, sorry I didn't mean this to be this long.

Funny that you like the Amazon pencils, I think they feel exactly like the Polychromos. I wish Amazon would make a larger set.
I love the Polychromos, I have 3 sets of Prismacolors that I rarely use because they feel gunky to me. I recently tried to layer with them and it was an awful experience.
Artxx are so so in my opinion, I have both sets, I feel I don’t get enough colour before they stop giving colour.
I have almost all of Derwent except their watercolours. I guess I like the firmer feel but at the same time getting good pigmentation. Luminance is not on my radar because I am just a beginner at this colouring hobby. I think too for what the luminance does they are too expensive. I have a couple purchased off eBay, often in an array with other pencils, so about four. They wear down easily and so have to be replaced too often.
I caved and bought the pencils! It's Aug. 12th right now (if someone reads this in the future) and yesterday the set was 12% off in addition to a $10 coupon so they were $99.00 and change with free shipping with Amazon Prime. It will probably never be cheaper. I searched on RUclips for a way to organize them and this was the first video I've looked at. Thank you for uploading it! Organizing them to actually use looks like a big task but at about 19 cents a pencil it's worth the effort. Open stock Prismacolor pencils just cost me a hefty sum with shipping. I did try a smaller Brutfuner set first before ordering the 520 set. I did notice that the barrel color doesn't always match the color you get when you use them.
Yes they are at a really great price right now! Hope you like them! They are different than the Brutfunner set with only numbers and no names. Imo this 520 set performance is a lot nicer.
I got mine at the same time you did! My bd is August 12, and they were a bd present to myself! I got the 2 cases for 260 pencils too! I love these pencils, I find I use them more than any of my others.

I hate buying cases, too. I swear I was the last person on earth to get cases for my sets. I've been coloring since 2015 and just this summer started buying cases. I have all of them in cases now. Expensive. Lol 😆 I don't have this set and I'm not sure I will get it either, but interesting to see how you store all them. That case was cheap too for the size. I purchased a 250 slot case and I paid almost $30 for it. Great price for a 480 slot case! Thanks for sharing!

I bought this exact case a week ago and am waiting for it to come it, lol, so seeing you open it up and how you've got everything stored was awesome. Still thinking about whether or not I need a 520 set of pencils though, but this case would be excellent for multiple art supplies. like a 120 set of pencils, some graphite pencils, black pens, and maybe some watercolor pencils and brushes, and it definitely looks big enough to hold a sketchbook, too
Definitely great idea to store multiple art supplies. I'm really happy with the 520 set it's great to have all the colors to choose from 🙂
I was imagining if I owned this set how fun it would be to have so many pencils. How lovely it would be to know I would probably have every possible shade of color I would ever want!

Ahh!....that's SUCH a good idea using the tape for the pencil #'s in your case!!
same with taking the paint pen over the #'s on the barrel that are harder to see!
I also like how you have a seperate, smaller case, for the metallics & neons, that is able to be kept in the pocket of the bigger case with all the other pencils.

I do Vine Product reviews for Amazon and have lots of colored pencils, yet I still wanted that set of 520, so I bought them. Now I have to sort and store all my pencils and donate or give to someone that wants them, the duplicates. I was offered some pencils today so I went through my colored pencil swatch book and pretty quickly ran into that very same set made by some other company. Many pencils are being sold under different names and if you don't catch it you could be wasting your money buying the same thing. I hadn't decided yet how to store them as I wanted to see the entire run of color in one place. I think I will try for that big case. I have another large case that I do have the long carrying handle on it as I have bad arthritis and have trouble lifting and carrying things, so it is easier to fling the handle on my shoulder and carry it that way.
I just posted the same case over in my community tab it's on sale for $25 it might be cheaper than the one I posted here

Pencil overload! They look gorgeous in the big case but I had to laugh at the purse strap, you'd need to see a chiropractor after using that!
Right? I cannot imagine anyone possibly thinking they need to carry 520 pencils around with them. Like, come on. How many pencils could you possibly need to bring with you to the doctor's office. I've never had to wait long enough to use that many pencils 🤣
You were lucky to find a 480 case, it's pretty and your pencils are nicely organized. I organized my 520 Brutfuner in 12 vertical stages clear hard plastic boxes for charcuterie, it takes a little vertical space, but it's easy to find the color I need. I have a question, do your Brutfuner pencils have a strong smell ? The set I got does and it's terrible. I left them out of the box for 15 days, but it didn't help, they still have the same smell. I appreciate your video, thank you for sharing.

Yes they're are a lot of them! Once I put them all in one case they were a lot easier to use. They're not a set for everyone.
Hey crystal, is there a difference in the square 120 set and the 520 set? I want to get some brutfunners but I have no idea which way to go? And did you say you liked castle art pencils? I'm wanting them also? Just wondering your opinion. Tfs, 💗💗💗
Yes the squares are different than the 520 set. I think the squares might be a bit softer and go down kind of velvety if that makes sense? lol I personally like the 520 set better I find they work well together with my Prismacolors. I did like the new castle art set especially the colors but don't think they're really worth it at the price they are right now. I don't really care for the original Castle Art pencils much but I know a lot of people do like them.

I was thinking of buying the 520 set and found the exact same case on Ali-express, Amazon is out of it.

Amazon also has a plain box labeled 520 Brunfuners for $89 while the pretty 2 box set is $129...
I keep wondering if it's the same or a knock off. The savings almost pays for the case. Do you know anything about it?
The 520 set that $89 in the school bus box is a different set of pencils. They're the type of Brutfunners with numbers and no names. More of a student grade type pencil. The ones in the flower boxes are nicer in my opinion. If you do a search on Amazon for a 480 or 488 pencil case, a bunch should pop up. I just posted one over on my community tab last week that was on sale for a good price. If you scroll down a few posts of there it might still be on sale.

I wanted this case but it was more than the other patterns…I took out the metallic and neons and put them in cases with the same type…I have put them in but don’t like how they look so have bought a rotating thingy that holds 750+ pencils but keep thinking do I really want to put them in it…🤣🥰
They just came out with a bunch of new patterns l like better than this one lol. The prices went up a lot since I made it his video. 😪

They do work nicely together with the prismacolors but are not as soft
Do gell pens, fine liner pens, s note highlighters it in this
They should be able to fit, probably just not as many.
