She was so terrified in her final moments. She had no idea what she had done to get to that escalation- because she had done nothing. It was an “I’m sorry” of pure terror prior to state sanctioned lynching.

@@tayzonday I thot the same thing of her petrified appeal to her executioner. I can't imagine how that cop could live with himself after he did that & hope & pray he's tormented in his sleep - if he gets sleep! I'm praying that her family gets justice & they recover from their sorrow! 😥💔

Doc you have a place in government. Please bring this to the attention of Gov Whitmer for MI and the rest of the country. This racist diagnosis needs to be removed from whatever diagnosis list currently present.

*Former EMT* the police and paramedic relationship is complicated and frought with animosity. While in school, our paramedic instructor explained that a lot of people that drop out of the EMS program due to being unable to handle the emotional aspect tend to become cops. This leads to many officers feeling hostile towards medics. Especially considering it is the medic with the power to be able to step in and stop police conduct. A medic has the legal authority to stop the police during a medical emergency and they are legally required to render aid when needed. The police know this and use their air of authority to intimidate medics. Medics are acutely aware that if the cop is abusing a citizen during an arrest, there is nothing stopping the cop from violently arresting the medic if they interfere.
There is also a lot of "thin blue line" support in small, rural, and suburban city EMS services. This creates a dynamic amongst medics of those that will let the cops do whatever and the "liberal bleeding hearts" that are harrased for being leftists. It goes back to the origins of city EMS and the "good ol boy" view of medics.
I personally experienced some VERY uncomfortable scenes with the police that left me seriously questioning why police take control of the medical side of a scene. Their presence always made the scenes feel on-edge. The patients would look restrained when telling us what happened and their medical info. They would constantly look over at the cop with worry in their eyes, afraid something they say would lead to legal ramifications despite them doing nothing wrong.
You also have to understand the broader significance of a cop - medic relationship. For example, if a cop arrests a medic for DUI, if the medic is allowed to stay employed with the city EMS, the cop will sometimes be moved to a different precinct or city cuz there is a possibility that the cop will be injured and the medic they previously arrested will purposefully withhold medical care as retaliation for getting arrested. This adds another layer to an already tenuous relationship. Both the medic and the cop are acutely aware that they can both end each other's employment if not career.

Growing up I was taught that police, firefighters, and soldiers were to be respected because they put their lives on the line for others.
These days it seems that too often the risk taker isn’t the police officer but any POC in view of an officer. And somehow it’s justified because they had a fear for their life. Without anything more than a feeling.

Seems to me like "excited delirium" could aptly describe a police officer that would shoot an unarmed citizen in the face 3 times for invoking the name of Jesus. WTF!!!!!!

If you’ve never had to restrain someone experiencing this type of manic episode then how can you claim that it’s simply a cover up for excessive force? Could it not be that the person’s body overworked itself to the point of collapse. Perhaps the way it does when your fever reaches too high of a temp, a seizure causes you to stop breathing, or how your heart’s rhythm may get out of whack. Just saying, if you shouldn’t make an unprovable claim against something that you say is unprovable.
