Love this video! It might be fun to put a light wire like garden tie wire inside the seam if you want your hat to be a little more “perky” and stay in place.
Thanks for giving us two different approaches that come out to the same result! Very cool way to present this project. You killed it as usual!!! You guys seem like such a fun duo to work with. Keep up the awesome, inspirational, work 👾🐇👾
I just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos. Are you still making these videos? We could all use more of your instructions and tips! TFS
In drafting the pattern, I learned that once I make the curve at the bottom to match the length of middle and side height measurements, I lose some width around the brim. You started with 23" but lost an inch or two once you made the curve 🤔How did your hats still fit your heads?
@@TockCustom That song "apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur!" I think it's called "low". Me and my kid change the words all the time to whatever we're thinking or talking about at the time.
This reminds me of when I made Hogwarts student hats for the wife and I. I used a bit of math (geometry) to figure out the length of the sides based on my desired circumference and height. I think your circumference may be a little smaller than what you had measured, but it works out so it's just snug since the fabric stretches a bit. Anyway, I would add an anti-static fabric liner so your hair doesn't look like the History channel "Aliens" guy when you take it off. Cool video, nice to see alternative ways to do things.
Do you have any interest in doing a cloak tutorial? I love your videos because they actually teach how to sew because you actually make the clothing on camera, unlike every other channel I've watched. Thank you for your teaching method.
Hello My friend, you inspired me to sew. My first project was a pair of nylon/sail cloth Board shorts. I made a pattern from cotton shorts that fit, I struggled and would like to see a video were you make some. I lined them they have a hook and loop fly. I when I was much younger lived in these and now is semi retirement hope to do so again. Thanks
I could be into doing some winter accessories for sure! I just need to get caught up on some edits, but I'll see what I can do - thanks for the suggestion!
I just got a sewing machine, largely because of seeing your videos, and I've made a few of those face masks (and, of course, they all suck! But I know what I'm doing wrong in each case...). Would you do another Q&A? My goal is to sew bicycle jerseys using lightweight lycra, and I'd like to get your advice. Even if this isn't gonna work, thanks for your videos; my life is better with a sewing machine in it.
I'm happy to hear I had an impact on your enthusiasm for sewing! What do you mean about another Q&A? Did you have a specific question? I love the quote "My life is better with a sewing machine in it" 😊

Hey well done videos, thanks. Q- I have a long dormant White Star, Model 524 , ca 1980 (looks good, just stiff) looking for help to get it up and sewing. Found Service Manual at manualslib, way too advanced for a noob. Any ideas for another source? Thanks, cool channel. I never thought this would interest me, but ...!!!
My problem is that when I buy pants they are always too long. Maybe you can do a tutorial on how to hem pants? I searched through the videos but didn't find one specifically for that. It's possibly in one of the other videos though.
What happened to you? Lol You're from my hometown and I recognized the colectivo sticker on your sewing machine. Come back dude, Im just learning to sew lol
My English is not so good...but if can understand then i will be very grateful.... Can you solve my problem? My sewing machine is brother JA001. The yarn is not rising from the bovine case from the bottom of the sewing machine...can u plz help?
I know it's not much but when you said half of 23.5 was 11.25 I was saying in my head you're a half inch too short. Half is 11.75 but that's neither here nor there. Just a small correction
Dang what happened to this guy he hasn't made a video in over a year. That sucks because he explains and demonstrates in better detail than anyone i have been able to find on youtube. I was hoping he would do a tutorial on a pair of loose fitting men's pants. I hope he is OK
I'm literally only here because I need to figure out how to make a hat like this (even though this one is more of like a night cap) because I can not find a tutorial for it and I need it for a cosplay
You're 100% correct. I skipped a step. The measurement was 22.5 / 2 = 11.25. Then added a 1/2" inch seam allowance on either side to make it 23.5. Good catch, now I wish I could re-edit that part :P
@@TockCustom Would the skipped step have something to do with making the hat one inch smaller then your head measurement... and does that make a better fit, allowing for slight stretch?
Holiday?! Hats Humm 🤔🤔 could you elaborate could they be 4th of July hats or labor day hats kinda look like CHRISTMAS!!!! hats you don't have to be scared to say it don't be scared of it it dose exist
I wish you still made videos. You have the best sewing tutorials! Please come back!
Hope everything is going good for you.
Bought a sewing machine because of your videos. Stay rad ❤
"My head is not that much bigger." Loaded comment 😂😂😂
Best hat tutorial I have found .. thanks !!
Awww, thanks so much! Hope you're having fun making some new stuff for the holidays :)
Hope a new vid comes soon, the videos are great!
Love this video! It might be fun to put a light wire like garden tie wire inside the seam if you want your hat to be a little more “perky” and stay in place.
That's a great idea! Sorry for the delayed response, but thanks for watching!! 😊
Great job CANT wait to make one😁
Nice tip about cutting with fur!
Thank you! 😊 I got to learn the hard way lol - Happy Holidays!
Now on my to do list for next year. I love your videos. I think I'll also make Santa hat chair covers now that I understand the process :-))
lol that's a great idea 😊

Really cute I wish I had seen this before the holidays :)
Yeah I should have gotten this up earlier in the month, but we were just happy to do it :)
your channel is so awesome! Keep being you ; )
i have to imagine that after the video, you two had an epic cosplay party (at home). LOL
Actually, after this video, we both made giant two handed EVA foam axes from Assassin's Creed Valhalla... so YES, we totally did! 😊
Looks great. With how you didn't sew the other edge of the white fur is there any worry about it coming apart?
As long as your back-stitch that seam, it's good to go 😊

I just found the same problem
Santa got that apple color suit and the hats with the Fuur!
I totally don't understand what this comment means, but I feel like its a good thing!! 😊

Hi from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

This could be one of them.
For sure, I'd be happy to do more entry level projects :) Great suggestion!
For sure 😊
You are such a cool person, love your videos. Hope you're ok.
Great video! How about a video on a Tock Custom embroidered neck warmer!
I could be into doing some winter accessories for sure! I just need to get caught up on some edits, but I'll see what I can do - thanks for the suggestion!

@Tock do you make costumes? I'm after some Viking/,medievil costumes if you wanted to put some together?
Can you please sew on the cuffs of a pair of denims or on the thick seams with the heavy sewing machine. I always break needles no matter what size
Hi Tock, any chance you will show us how to make a long sleeve dress shirt? I hope all is well, its been a while. Best regards from Vermont

Uh-oh, looks like Tock is MIA. Even his Patreon page doesn't show any recent activity. Hope all is well, Tock.
His twitch had a livestream a month ago
