Oh, I can't remember if I mentioned it in the video but the reason we're getting the cats and not my brother is because my brother is a respectable member of society and works a real job. He came home for lunch and let us inside and we went and bought the kitties all the stuff they needed.
And they were negative on their tests!! And they've since been fixed and gotten all their shots. :) They're apparently super healthy little parking lot kitties!

many of the older bathrooms here in Australia have carpeted toilets lol it's really gross, particularly if you have children
in the uk as well it was fairly common.. student houses with all rooms carpeted.. so gross..

@@kathlinke1130 : A kitchen is just barely workable, if you either don't care about stains, or never cook.
But a bathroom... if you ever get a toilet overflow, it is _not_ possible to properly clean. And you can get the same benefit with either rugs or towels, with less problems.
We had carpet in our downstairs bathroom and the cat peed in there. When my parents went on holiday, I ripped out the carpet to reveal a beautiful parquet floor!
I *know.* The house I grew up in had carpet in the kitchen *and* bathroom when my parents bought it. Mom *hated* it so much I not only didn't get in trouble when I dropped a bunch of eggs on the kitchen floor, Mom dang near did a jig because she finally had an excuse to get rid of the nasty thing.

Haha, I've lived with cats for far too long. Near the end of the video, where I think it was Luna drinking out of the water bowl, she was looking right at the camera. I automatically did a long slow blink back - completely forgetting that this cat won't see it >_

I thought that's what you do with cats though. It signals to them that you aren't there to harm them as you are blinding yourself and making yourself vulnerable to them in that instant.
Pretty much. I do it with mine all the time - usually out of habit. Which is why I unconsciously did it when Luna was looking directly at the camera.

K Nana lol everyone has an accent. The midwest has an accent because there is no "neutral" or "normal" English accent (despite what the Brits may say...). To any other English speaker in a different part of the world, you have an accent.

I don't get the combination of bathrooms and carpet. Oh, yeah, I understand the _logic_ of it, but the rest of the logic counteracts it. Just use towels the you can replace on a weekly basis if the cold bothers you (I do that for showers, so I know it works).

I take my shoes off inside most of the time, too, though in that case it's more because shoes are so incredibly uncomfortable to me that I'd rather not wear them if I don't have to.

I'm thinking those two may have been dumped and were unwanted, for how friendly they are. So happy they were rescued and got a home right away!
Thank you so much to your brother, but also the people who took them home from the parking lot. Almost 2 years ago my husband and I got a message from a stranger (I was searching for kittens) and she told me her son had heard some kittens meowing on his way somewhere. After a lot of questions I kinda knew where they were and called a friend to help with the searching (it was 12 o'clock in the morning. Didn't want my husband searching alone in the middle of nowhere) after searching for more than an hour they found 5!!!!! tiny little kittens. They stayed with them for about an hour to see if mom showed up, sadly not! So my hubby took them home around 3 in the morning. Poor things were so damn hungry. The place my hubby found them though wasn't a spot you could "hear" or " see" them. We think the people who messafed me dumped them but had regrets and hoped I took them in. I'm now the proud mommy of Jazz, Enya, Star, Jack and Maya. Three of them are still living with us, (Jazz, Enya and Star. Two reds and a calico) Jack lives with my brother and Maya with my best friend. I love them so much! In the beginning we fed them every 2-3 hours. Was good practice!
Tldr: found 5 kittens on the streets, Handraised them. Love them to death!
Ainiewainy Hi! can I ask how did you feed them? (as in with what) My best friend found 3 newborn kittens in a cardbox and hanraised them for about 2 months. Sadly only one survived, ironically enough it was the smallest and weakest of the bunch, proving to be actually the strongest. She's so cute but still tiny. I was wondering if maybe the milk she used had to do with it? she was adviced to use goat milk by her vet.
Vicaohlaluna I bottle fed a 2 week old kitten I found in an abandoned neighbor's backyard. They sell kitten bottles and kitten milk formula at pet stores or your local big grocery stores. We had the powder formula and mixed it up and put it in a bottle. Idr if we chilled the leftovers but we always had plenty made. Make sure to not feed the kitten like a baby human on its back! Or else you risk it getting formula in its lungs. My kitten was ravenous for food and always cut up our hands with its spastic clawing so be sure to wear gardening gloves. If they chew off and swallow the nipple of the bottle don't worry too much, it happens a lot. You may need to prick a slightly bigger hole in the tip of the nipple I've found.

Thats probably just a symbolic compensation for food and the tests since they were found outside and then put up for adoption
@@contra1124 Well symbolic compensation (for food and tests and to make sure the new owner really is eager to take care of the cat) in Germany is never less than 100 USD (convertet from Euro).
@@0Stephanotis0 I live in Germany too, we got our cat from a farm at 5 weeks old and gave the owner 10 euros for him. He would have given him to us for free. If you adopt from shelters you pay a high compensation, yes
But there are streetcats here, too, we used to feed one until he didn't show up anymore..
@@contra1124 I think it's irresponsible to give cats away for free, if you don't know the person who is willing to adopt the cat. A few months ago there was a case, where a cat was sexually abused by it's owner and finally was rescued. I hope and think this was an individual case. In my opinion a life is worth more then 10 Euro.
And yes, here are streetcats too, but at least in Hamburg the shelter (2nd biggest in Germany) takes good care of each life they can save.
And it is important to educate the people around you, so that we can get a hold of the cats that suffer on the streets and can help them.
Civetta47 I agree with you, I saw a story where these kittens were given away for free and ended up being used in a horrible gambling game (they’d color the kittens and put them against rabid dogs and people bet on which kitten would win). Luckily they were rescued before anything happened to them! It’s important to keep in contact with who you give your puppies or kitties or any animal away and have an adoption fee :0!!!!!
The boy reminds me of Poki. Nagging for food, knowing when it's time to be fed. And he also eats the leftovers of the girl's bowl just like Poki finishes Nagi's and Haku's bowls.

When my mom first got her cat, I think about October, she was a dirty kitten! She had dead fleas, and seriously needed a bath. But now, she’s a happy(and probably spoiled!) cat!

I love their names! :) All of my cats have been rescue cats! For the first time, last year, we rescued older cats (6 yrs and 8 yrs). One ended up being really sick, but she's doing great now and the other has been such a love! So glad that they found a home so quickly from their last one!
