Since we were building our house from scratch we got to design the layout with cat walkways in mind! I just wanted to say thank you for a past video you did, the one where you mentioned about hydroxyapatite. I searched for it and found Boka toothpaste in the US and have been using it. I healed a cavity in my teeth (my dentist was shocked when it was no longer visible on x-ray!) and then used it to heal a cavity in my teen's teeth. I just wanted to thank you again for talking about it because you helped our family out. I'm committed to using Boka for the rest of my life because I'm so impressed with it.💚👍🏽😁
Thank you from me too! I have fluorosis all over my teeth from using fluoride toothpaste when I was growing up 😩 and had switched to fluoride free but was so happy to hear about a safe remineralising alternative! I’m in the UK so use Biomed from Amazon which contains hydroxyapatite too 👍🏻
After years of experience, I can tell you cats consider palm trees gourmet kitty grass. They also love pony tail palms and spider plants. I love how the room turned out!
That’s gorgeous! One small recommendation, on the shoji wood piece you hung the obi with put a piece of white felt so the paint doesn’t rub off on that beautiful o I.
Seeing Rachel, Jun, and the cats all together in the new, cozy house makes me so happy and hopeful! I can't wait to see any new projects you do and adventures you go on!!!

omg, that light was so easy to install, I'm jealous. I usually struggle a lot when installing a new ceiling lamp. Also, RIP poor bonsai. It will be missed
I love the upcycling! Make sure to seal the wood so the spray paint doesn't transfer/stain the obi. I made that mistake once with a piece of fabric (thankfully it wasn't anything special)
Nothing on RUclips makes me happier than when you guys upload. Y'all are too cute, and your cats are famous movie stars in my book. Great to see more of the house and all the cat pathways. Looks like it all turned out fantastic. The shoji screens turned out really well. Really nice little nook.
Wow I couldn't guess how they were going to use it at the beginning of the video, but in min 16:33 when I saw the results I loved it so much ! And the light fixture is perfect to give that modern vibe with the traditional shoji doors. Great work interior designers Rachel & Jun ;) Looking forward to seeing the other projects you did around the house and see the final tour of course
Hi Rachel 7 Jun, love the make over of the screens I have a room divider with the paper used but will be changing it to have family pictures in each square. Rachel this is a trick I learned years ago to help me stay cooler, get some tops made of linen and wear under your bra’s it has a wicking affect and will keep you feeling dry all day long. This is something they use to do in the past as the linen under shirt would be washed all the time but corsets or in your case a bra would not need washing after one wear. Linen is good for keeping you cooler and dryer.
everything's coming along so well! it's nice to see these inbetween vids for projects, without seeing the whole of the house building and that little spot for hina, melted my heart
Your videos are always so wholesome and lovely and wonderful. From the cats to the jokes to the dynamic between the two of you: thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
Oh, what an awesome idea! I loved your tea farm video from a while back? A sakura box exploration video (interview idea you mentioned) would be really cool. It'd totally add a new demension to these snacks and their histories, and the places, which I've already loved seeing your segments for! Those screens came out perfect, and that nook looks incredible, too! Perfect! too cool!
I just recently discovered you. I have a dear friend that lives in Morioka in the Iwate prefecture. We went to the same college in the USA. We both got degrees in Interior Architecture. You make me feel closer to her and I am a cat lover. I have six rescues. Thank you! I love watching you and seeing your adventures in your new home.
As someone who lives in a very tourism heavy state and works in realty, people owning multiple homes is not unheard of to me. 😂 (though I can only ever dream of having two homes!!) anyway, the nook came out amazing! It looks so nice. 😻
Ahh the shoji screens turned out beautiful! I also got the Sakuraco Kyoto moon festival box using ur guys code!! The yuzu dorayaki and the animal cookies were definitely my favorite. I also absolutely love the dish it’s so pretty :’)
I'm just so glad that you have all that room for activities now, living in your first apartment (that we see on this channel) looked so cramped! Not that you didn't make it work, but this has to be so much more comfortable for you guys and the kitties.
Just stunning, I love the decoration of little spots like this. So cozy and easier to style than a giant living room or something. And how the light filters through the shoji paper. Another house dream of mine realized by you guys 😭😭
I'm shocked and soooo jealous of how easy it is to change a ceiling light in Japan compared to America. Here in America I have terrible luck with ceiling lights. It takes me like 15 minutes if it's going quickly, but it's more normally half an hour to an hour. But my record was 3 hours because everything was going wrong and I'm just bad it. And you didn't even have to turn off the power in that room from the circuit breaker! Ugh.
I'd love to see a video of how your cats enjoy your new house now since you've lived there a while. Anything new about there behaviour or anything they've stopped doing?
I just love the way you upcycled the shoji doors and spray painted it black! 🖤 And I burst out laughing at @15:13 when Jun tried to clean the floor with Haku! P.S. Its also really nice to hear you saying "I love you" to each other! Aw...
have you heard of kigoroshi? I saw it in a video where the cuts are made smaller than the joining wood and then water and some light hammering is used to bind the joints (two pieces of wood) together without nails or glue. It's really cool
The composition of the corner with the cabinet under the shoji screens next to an Obi tapestry is just perfect. Also spontaneously teared up when Rachel and Jun gave Hina a warm welcome to their new house.

I healed a cavity in my teeth (my dentist was shocked when it was no longer visible on x-ray!) and then used it to heal a cavity in my teen's teeth. I just wanted to thank you again for talking about it because you helped our family out. I'm committed to using Boka for the rest of my life because I'm so impressed with it.💚👍🏽😁
I'm so happy to hear this!! I still swear by it, haha. Super glad it worked for you guys, too!
You reminded me I wanted to try this toothpaste! I just got it :)
@@priscillelikum2742 Where can you find it?
@@bellatrn9125 I just Googled it and found the official website and got it shipped to me, but it might be able to find it in stores near you.
Spider plants are safe for cats but also mildly hallucinogenic
Haku can make friends with anyone be they air conditioner repair men or Darth Vader herself!
That’s gorgeous! One small recommendation, on the shoji wood piece you hung the obi with put a piece of white felt so the paint doesn’t rub off on that beautiful o I.
We put paper in between them!
The whole corner turned out so lovely. Thank you for sharing your crafting and kitties
Seeing Rachel, Jun, and the cats all together in the new, cozy house makes me so happy and hopeful! I can't wait to see any new projects you do and adventures you go on!!!
Good on Rachel for making the most relatable DIY videos on RUclips.
You both and the cats seem so happy after getting your house, I’m so happy for your family, and I hope you all have nothing but joy for as long as you live 💕💕💕
2:50 Poki looks like he is imprisoned hahaha
Thank you for thinking about reusing objects. I think the redone shogi screens look excellent. It's a successful upcycling project.
Always a good pick-me-up to see a video from you two! The screens look wonderful
i love the final outcome of the design its so cool yet so cozy at the same time, great job rachel and jun!
It's kind of sweet that a little bit of the spirit of the old house lives through the old shoji doors, what a great way to connect the old and the new
I love how you compliment each other and love the balance between you guys. It's been a pleasure watching you grow through out the years and now seeing you work in your cat house, super kawaii 💖. Blessings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🙏🏻❤
I like the end result. It's a pleasant, cozy corner.
This is the first time I’ve heard Pichi’s voice!! She sounds so sweet 🥺
time stamp please!
@@taududeblobber221 16:33 I believe.
16:33 was a perfect shot poki matches the shoji doors 😄😄
The house is coming along so well. Everything is just you two. I'm so happy to see the cats are looooving the new house and space, just like I'm sure you two are.
omg, that light was so easy to install, I'm jealous. I usually struggle a lot when installing a new ceiling lamp.
Also, RIP poor bonsai. It will be missed
Such a beautiful nook very かわいい
I love DIY home improvements and also the entertaining friendship of crazy kittens. Great job 👏🏽🐈 💕
The space looks amazing! You did great! Very happy to see the old tapestry fabric finally find its place
Rachel and jun make my day so much better ,
I love you guys keep going 😭❤️
I love the upcycling! Make sure to seal the wood so the spray paint doesn't transfer/stain the obi. I made that mistake once with a piece of fabric (thankfully it wasn't anything special)
This is so beautiful, especially Hina's Spot. I can picture her napping on the cabinet and watching the birds outside
Nothing on RUclips makes me happier than when you guys upload. Y'all are too cute, and your cats are famous movie stars in my book. Great to see more of the house and all the cat pathways. Looks like it all turned out fantastic. The shoji screens turned out really well. Really nice little nook.
These renovation videos are so chill, they make me so happy to watch. 😊 You guys have the best sense of humor too. 😆
Also it warms the depths of my cold, cold heart to see Pichi feeling so happy and safe with you guys! You gave her a second chance at life
Hi Rachel 7 Jun, love the make over of the screens I have a room divider with the paper used but will be changing it to have family pictures in each square.
Linen is good for keeping you cooler and dryer.
i cant stop smiling, these videos and seeing the cats just makes me happy. thank you for creating and sharing.
I love that corner. And I couldn't stop giggling at the cats while watching, especially at Nagi!
everything's coming along so well! it's nice to see these inbetween vids for projects, without seeing the whole of the house building
and that little spot for hina, melted my heart
16:43 I thought Nagi on the wheel was a helicopter from the sound hahaha
AWWWW HINAAAA
I MISS HER SO MUUUCH
Also that Nagi zoom wow...
Your videos are always so wholesome and lovely and wonderful. From the cats to the jokes to the dynamic between the two of you: thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
Haku: “Look at me, mom. Aren’t I the best boy? Give me belly rubs!”
Nagi: “Begone, demon!”
I'm so happy that Rachel looks so happy and healthy these days 💜💜💜
Aww I love that spot for Hina :')
Perfect! too cool!
Such a cute and cozy nook! Very magazine worthy. I love the memorial for Hina
Honestly, I just really want a tour of all the cat runs throughout the house, it’s such a cool concept.
Great recycle of the screens. The decoration of the alcove is lovely.🌸
😂 (though I can only ever dream of having two homes!!)
anyway, the nook came out amazing! It looks so nice. 😻
End result.... Very nice indeed. Gorgeous screens. So glad to see picchi. All the kittens appear to enjoying the new house.
Ahh the shoji screens turned out beautiful! I also got the Sakuraco Kyoto moon festival box using ur guys code!! The yuzu dorayaki and the animal cookies were definitely my favorite. I also absolutely love the dish it’s so pretty :’)
That's such a nice lil spot in the house 😭 it turned out so cute!!
So many good cat moments in this video! And I love how the alcove turned out. Very cozy. You have such good upcycling ideas.
Ugh.
From Sharla's video to Rachel and Jun, I'm being fed today 😊❤
I just finished watching Sharla's video before seeing this one too lol
saaame lol
I love the cat friendly stairs and scratch wheel. Very cool place.
I love seeing how all your projects turn out. This one is so prettyyy
The composition of the corner with the cabinet under the shoji screens next to an Obi tapestry is just perfect. Also spontaneously teared up when Rachel and Jun gave Hina a warm welcome to their new house.
Thank you for the wonderful comfy video! I love seeing how the house is being decorated! Everything is coming out beautifully! I'm also glad you have a spot for Hina 💕💕💕
