I still love Poki.
The beans are simply called green beans.
@@marc1indeed they are, the beans of green
Happy new year to you and Rachel and your cat family !
I've just heard recent earthquake in Japan..hopefully, all in safe condition. Big ❤ from Malaysia.
Jun: what are your sins and desires as cats?
Poki: screm. eat trash.
Nagi: pride.
While Haku: Chilling~
Pichi: Poki ~~❤❤❤
Jun: What are your sins and desires as cats?
cats: Crimes. And also food.
@@maricarlareyes1468I was just gonna say!😂 Haku - Sloth
Does ruining the humans' decor count as a sin?
Jun:” 108 sounds a lot”
Poki: *bites Jun’s finger*
“109.”
Poki's sins are gluttony for food, and stealing everyone else's food! 😂 We love you Poki! Happy New Year!
And biting. Don't forget biting.
11:40 - awww, hahaha, Rachel laying her chin on the counter, channeling her inner Poki, about to strike and grab more food when Jun looks away! LOLOL
She matched that ginger floof sitting on the right :P
The Many Sins of Poki the Cat is a manga I would gladly read.
Never thought ill see Rachel learning from their cats and begging for food like them 😂😂😂
She even puts her head on the table and hand paw tab like them is so cute
Jun’s English has gotten amazing. He even uses English colloquialisms at this point.
We call them green beans in English. Which isn't an especially useful term for differentiating them from beans you eat individually, but it is what it is. Great video :)
I think you can also call them string beans, which is more descriptive.
Or french beans
For some reason I feel like string beans is a bit more popular in America, the main place I hear them called that is on videos, tv, etc. Also apparently most beans these days don't have strings any more... And I almost never hear French beans, I wonder if that's also semi regional. I'm sure the french don't call them french beans, hehe.
Yes, string beans is what I usually see in the Northeast. Rather than French beans, I may see "haricots verde" instead, which just seems like green beans in French...
Its more british english if anything. Which makes sense because im European and they teach us british rather than american English
That crunchy tempura was something else. I could almost feel that sound.
Haku sitting on top of the vent and seeing his little paws in the beginning of the video cracked me up haha
Poki definitely has some desires related to shrimp
People need to keep in mind that he is comparing his food to artisans that did nothing else but to cultivate the taste of this one product their entire life, so a 5/10 is probably the highest someone could reach first try
4:27 those are usually called green beans! Oddly exact naming lol. Sometimes they’re also called string beans or snap beans, although those are technically different plants
oh we call those runner beans cause the plant will "run" up anything you put it near haha
I really like these videos where you makes something from the Sakura box and compare. It makes the add fun and also shows how incredible talented the snacks makers of Japan are. When someone with Jun's cooking skillz, still have some way to go before reaching the masters of the craft it highlights the quality of the products in that box.
Poki always screams at the best times! 😂 Love him!💗
I hope you guys are ok. Our thoughts and prayers are for all of Japan. Stay safe.
Rachel and Jun were the first thing I thought of when I heard about the 1/1/24 earthquake! I hope they’re doing alright.
This makes me so happy to see poki with lil scarf omg my heart is melting from the cuteness lol also this food looks ssuuppeerr tasty 😮
I like the plushie you have sitting on top of the kitchen hood. :3
Oh wait. It's Haku.
We most imaginatively call those green beens in the NE US 😂
Happy New Year, and that's what you get for taunting Poki 🎉🎉🎉
String beans is also pretty common.
11:37 Me: "Oh, Nagi has joined us on the table.... no, wait, that's Rachel." XD
I always understood "butter" instead of "batter" and thought: well that's not the tempura coating I remember, but I'll trust you man on the Internet :D
My bane of existence with the English language as a foreigner is "bet","bed"',bat","bad" btw. My American wife always laughs when I mess those up :D
Nah, I am a native English speaker and thought he said butter too. You’re good 😂
A happy new year to you and Rachel and the kitties as well. I am grateful for all your content you shared with us in 2023! May your 2024 be a good year, i am looking forward to what you have planned for us 🫶🏻
i have been watching you and rachel since 2015, and its heartwarming how far you've both come. i still watch old videos, such a comfort channel for me and hundreds of people who watch you guys, a very happy new year💞
I don’t know if it’s just me but watching the cats while Jun is cook it’s just so relaxing and satisfying
The soba looks delicious, and I love how honest Rachel is every time! Happy (early) new year! ⭐I haven't been watching your channels for the longest time (2 years basically) but I love your cooking, diy and cat content🐈 Best wishes to you, Rachel and the cats for 2024!
I'm so impressed that Poki can remain in the kitchen these days.
Poki chomping on Jun's finger made me laugh out loud!
Poki steals my heart every time!
Those are green beans, Jun.
Happy New Year! Green beans, I believe, are what they are. Yummy if roasted in the oven. Although tempura is also very good too.
more of a string bean, but yeah :D
@slightly_rotten
Thank you. 😊
string bean or green bean. Cause some string beans are yellow which kind of makes them no longer "green beans"
At least in the American southeast, those would just be called green beans.
I like to air fry them and the sprinkle them in grated Parmesan cheese
In the UK we call those French beans. I've only ever seen the green ones in the shops, however you can also get varieties with purple, yellow, or white pods, which are better for growing at home because they're easier to spot amid the leaves. They're very easy to grow.
I love how over the years, Jun has evolved to speak exactly like Rachel 😭🤣💖
I hope your family & the cats are safe from the earthquake
"It tastes of sins... But it tastes great!" BWAAHAHAHA, that was hilarious
Happy New Year guys. I hope you're safe and didn't suffer much damage. Praying for everyone in Japan 🙏🏻 ❤.
Love the detailed cooking tips for the preparation on the shrimp and vegetables. ❤
1:52 got me cackling hahaha poki the comedic timing genius
Our southern tradition, as a first meal of the new year, Collard greens, which is supposed to be money, black-eyed peas which represents common sense, Pork or ham, which is considered a sign of prosperity in some cultures because pigs root forward.
Cornbread, which might symbolize gold and is essential with black-eyed peas and greens. Prosperity and health to you and Rachel in the coming years.
Poki is soooo cute! I love his little meows throughout the video letting us know he's still there. ❤😊 Amazing food Jun! Fantastic crunch!
Just what I need to relax before work ❤ thank you Jun for always making the days brighter!
I hope you, Rachel, and the kitties are okay and safe❤!!
11:39 Rachel looking like an excited child ready to eat 😂
Happy New Year to Jun, Rachel and the cats!
I'm very impressed with your chief and teaching skills. You gave us great advice regarding the shrimp, batter, okara, and oil. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year. I hope you and your family are safe after the earthquake.
"What are your sins and desires as a cat? Sleep, and be lazy?"
Haku: "Yea--"
Poki: "Murder."
I’m praying you and the kitties are safe 😢❤

I love soba! I'm in Okinawa right now and I'm so excited to try soki soba - I hear it's a lot like udon moreso than regular soba. Thanks for the video as always Jun! Looks delicious.
4:29 Hello, in Italian they are called "Fagiolini" in the dialect of my city, Piacenza, we call them "fasuleì". "Fagiolini" derive "Fagioli", in fact "Fagiolini" could be translated into mini beans
That crunch! It sounds delicious
Thank you for sharing all the techniques.
