I've had that same kit in my stash for about 35 years now. You have inspired me to now make it with your excellent build.

The idea of the clear spoke discs was to paint the wheel inset black(or dark gray), highlight the spokes themselves in silver and leave the rest of the disc clear. Then the silver spokes would show against the dark wheel, and the holes would also be visible.

A friend of mine lent me a documentary about Formula One in the mid 50s. It told the story of how many (very many) drivers were killed driving those cars. Most of them wore street shoes, a button shirt, maybe a wool sweater, goggles, gloves and a "helmet". Most of them refused to wear seat belts.

Just for the heck of it I googled Alfa Romeo Alfetta 150 and couldn't believe all the images, mostly of the actual car and some models.
You're build is right in line with the actual car. Beautiful work, I thought the wheels turned out great.

This is an interesting kit. Atlantis reboxed it with another car of the same era. I have the two car set. The spokes can be left off as some of the cars i saw when i researched didnt have spoke wheels.

Lovely result. I've got this kit, and it's companion, the Talbot Lago. These were originally produced by Merit in the 1950s, as part of a range of Grand Prix cars of the era. I built several in the 1960s. Good to see you making kits of cars other than pick ups and muscle cars. How about having a go at a 1/12th. Scale Italeri Bugatti?
