looks cool but you already know the big guilds are gonna build near resource spots "unless theyre randomly placed" and try to get a monopoly on the server.
Since MMO is massively misused as a label, is it actually like an MMO with thousands of people on a server like Final Fantasy 14, or just an online game like other survival sandbox games?
This looks really interesting to me. My 2 biggest concerns are 1: Combat. You can have a great game like Gloria Victis ruined but really lame combat so I hope they take a page out of Chiv 2 (best melee combat ever achieved in a game) 2: So many online games with great potential have been utterly ruined by cheating. War of the Roses, Reign of Kings, Red Dead Redemption 2, Conan Exiles all unplayable once the cheating started. I hope the developers take cheating as serious as WoW did so that players don't feel hopeless and give up.
@@SaiyanBroly dude fallout 76 was a flop because of how it was made, this game seems like its going to take eve onlines player lead market route for it, with fallout 76 they failed because 1. it made the world feel to empty and 2. because past games in fallout world had npc. with this game it explained that this land is basiclly abandoned and so it gives a reason for us the players be the only people there, we are the ones coming back and claiming the lost lands. we are the first arivals, unlike in fallout 76 where it was clear other had been there before us
Super hyped for this game but they need to fix the common problem these games have by limiting the certain amount of items that can be place. Example, I play conan exiles but good gawd you take a massive performance hit when getting near a person's supermassive base. It's not even the size of the base it's the fitty thousand torches they use to light them up. That cool flickering of a torch on the wall is nice in these new engines but put several hundred of them in one area its gonna hit performance on that area and the entire server in general.
It looks beautiful and the premise is interesting. But, with open world PvP, that rings the dinner bell for just enough D-Bags who live to destroy, to make things frustrating at best and unplayable at worse. What's the point of building only to have it all destroyed? Sadly, a pass.
If it isn't the building itself the toxic kids that have nothing better to do but ruin someone else's game play by camping outside of the heartland and constantly killing lower levels, preventing progress.
Fun little note: The name Pax Dei is actually a reference to a medieval religious peace movement. Essentially, it was an attempt to cut down on the constant feuding between the lower nobility of the high medieval era because those feuds were prone to causing major collatoral damage to agriculture, infrastructure and church property. The movement threatened excommunication on nobles who would damage church proterty or harm clerics, though later inclusions were made to also protect defenseless civilians in general.
I mean that's a reason SOME people like it sure, other like it because they can build a base and kill some monsters with friends...but regardless this game isn't trying to be Valheim it's just a sandbox mmo in a medieval setting, it's hardly a unique concept and I think it looks like it could be something a lot of people have been wanting
@@Sentinel_8il literally playing Valheim right now and I was literally thinking about this EXACT to the "T" MMO-like Valheim type of game. This is literally insane!
@HellHunterKiriu Ah nice man! Something I've been wanting too, it's looks like it has some potential, especially like the sound of having different jobs in a group

Haha nothing to excuse man, you're fine and yeah I'm hopeful for it too, just wanting to see what kind of monsters it has, hopefully we get some big scale troll types or something
Other games have tried pvp free zones and haven't done so well like starbase so unless they have a lot of pve content will make players leave the safe zones then it could work but a game mechanic like that can be a double edge sword sometimes .personally I can spend 100's of hours just building and not exploring anything in a game if the building mechanics are good it's why all my gaming friends call me bob the builder and make me do all the building 🤣
Nah pvp its what can keep the game alive, if done properly and balanced of course with no pay to win. At one point even the most difficult raid or dungeon becomes boring and repetitive.. pvp will always be unique and the difficulty will always be different and unpredictable, especially with the building system, I would love to see massive battles for territory or resources for example, be able to take over cities, land and stuffs like that.. that to me sounds fun
@@xpgainz I can see having your "base" be in safe areas but the PVP areas are where you could build like forts/castles to defend certain things. That way you build your fort or castle with the understanding it can be destroyed but should be fun. You don't lose anything from your main base where you have your supplies/weapons and nice village built up, but the fort is specifically built knowing it is what you defend or lose. The only issue with having certain resources or maybe buffs, people will feel they are forced to partake even if they hate pvp and it can be a huge turn off. I agree though you need a mix of both to keep a game going in the long run.
People love persistent and open world and build everywhere until they have to actually play it. Well JJ Q Munch clan lead by Craven Moredeck currently is built up on the spawnpoint of a boss preventing its spawn. While streamer ASD is leading a zerg against some rando for daring to not give him free stuff. Meanwhile the massive penis on the mountain is now ejaculating swasticas. To protest someone tried building a feminist icon somewhere but someone griefed it into looking racist. Meanwhile you the noob that just joined dont get to do much other than align yourself with the faction that is ran by the guy that says the N word a lot or the one that will treat you like a slave. If pvp exists players will focus that as much as possible. If build anywhere exists people will block off valuable resources/mobs/bosses. If the moderators intervene to remove ANY of that the players will revolt because "Why cant i pvp! Its literally the point" or "I just built a base in a cool area!" each side either not knowing they did something wrong or lying. It's like dark souls pvp community, there's people who love invading and then there are those who just want to do co op and get through areas with their buddies at a casual pace. Pvp is sadly not everyone's cup of tea and imagine finally building something that took lots of effort or was annoying to gather only for you to lose it all and go through an annoying grind? You gotta be open minded that everyone doesn't enjoy pvp.

It can be hard to balance properly, especially when progression is concerned. You don't want a situation where new players end up getting bullied and become unable to progress because an experienced and much stronger player is repeatedly farming them. Most people don't mind PvP in arena settings or simular things, but it can suck if you want to go about your business and just can't because someone else is constantly trying to fight you. if they think a completely player run economy w no npcs is going to work long run they should do some research into other games
Some developers have been making Eve online, so they should have experience in player-run economy
