Brother you are so right about that, these guys are smoking. If I were a multi millionaire I would pay them just to do a 6 month tour those shows would be mind blowing without a doubt.
Been watching Billy for 8 years now. Have literally watched him grow and grow up. Have seen him in clubs with only a handful of people and have seen him in big venues. Saw him down in Manteo once when his band complained about doing an encore (they needed to hit the road for their next show-in Ohio I think). He told them to go, go on. I’ll do the encore by myself. He blew us away! Real musicianship, my friends!
Jerry would really dig the scene and laugh his ass off. He dedicated his life to keeping the Spirit of the 60's alive. Having fun is what Rock is all about!
Hi folks , This great bluegrass guitarist is really versatile ! It’s a proof of intelligence and openness that some purists sometimes lack! This guy is amazing! Thanks a lot for the post! From deep south of France 🥖🍷🧀, C.& Chelsea the Dog. 🐉🔬🐲
Versatile is an understatement. The dude is quite possibly the best young guitar talent in the world. Go look for the video of him playing Dont Think Twice. The kid is unreal.
It's hard to imagine that anybody could cover this song -- one of the hottest in the Grateful Dead canon -- this well! Billy K. looks like he's having a great time, after who knows how many hundreds of performances. I am too!
@@growmiezhomiez8760 bobby has certainly lost a ton of his technical prowess on guitar at this point. Bobby himself has a big and dedicated following because of who he is, but probably the biggest factor in the success of Dead and Co has been John Mayer. Mayer, Jeff, and Oteil actually get into some really incredible jams in DandC, but yeah, Bobby is probably the weakest link in that lineup. Slow & Co. And this isn't meant to be a knock at Bobby at all; I absolutely cherish that man and his incredible playing throughout the years, and have even really worked to try to model my own rhythm guitar playing after what he was doing in the 60s and 70s. He is one of my favorite guitarists ever and wrote many of the greatest Dead songs, but he has certainly lost a step or two over the year (through no fault of his own at all). And you're right, many songs like this don't need to "breathe;" they need to rock. They brought that energy to this performance.
I can’t stand how slow they’ve been playing some songs. In the middle of the show Mayer Oteil and the piano guy kick Bobby in the ass and make him move a little faster, but it’s getting sad
Here's one for all you haters and butthurt boomers who cry about the slow songs. THIS right here rocks. They always had this in 'em. Bob wanted to play a certain way. SORRY if it hurt your feelers! ruclips.net/video/rh1qTH_uPPE/видео.htmlsi=644K1ZHe7P1l-zKZ
You mean the older Billy huh? Yeah he skipped out on a few of the 2022 Dead and Co shows this year as well. Stay healthy Bill K., the music will live on.
I am an old Deadhead and I approve this jam
Same here
U.S. tour. We demand it. You can't just tease people like that. I can only imagine the energy those nights 💣.........💥🔥🔥🔥
Twas the best thang
This lineup needs to go out on tour!!!!

They should tour. IMO Dead and Co. not close. Amazing energy....
Yea I said the same thing after watching this show last year! Can you imagine? It would be a huge scene following this lineup around!
I second this emotion (~);}
@@_noname617 Yes, BW can stick around and sing some songs, but his guitar playing at this stage of his career is 'weak' to say the least, sounds awful
There ain't nothin in this world like Billy Strings.
I heard that about Jeff Austin for years. Hopefully Billy makes better choices!

The energy of this band is amazing, off the charts. THIS is what the live music scene needs, a breath of 'fresh' air
You'll like JRAD then.

❤
just awesome...what a great version great energy
2022 Tour!! Give the people what they want!! 🥳👍🎶🇺🇸
Damn, Billy. I always forget, but u make me remember. Thank you!!!!
I want Billy Strings to go on tour and play Dead songs. I love his music, but he also does Dead music so well.
this was some of his BEST!!!!! And that's saying a lot!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

...the blues is just bluegrass in slow motion...
...kid stuff...
Versatile is an understatement. The dude is quite possibly the best young guitar talent in the world. Go look for the video of him playing Dont Think Twice. The kid is unreal.
the music never stopped
You know the how the band plays the music? This is one of those instances where it really feels like the music is playing the band.
Bro seriously haha

Wilco covered it recently check that out
thank you kindly for sharing this Relix. my cup's been empty since Jer passed but Billy Apostol now fills it
U.S. Blues is one of my all-time favorite songs and they killed it. Please come to Boston guys.
He will be in Boston end of July, 2023.
Back to back chicken shack !✌️😎🇺🇸
Billy is special. Amazing. Great performance from all. Wow
Wow! Like I’ve never heard it before! What energy! @Relix I can’t get enough of the Billy & The Kids performances! Keep them coming!
Love this lineup! Also, seeing a security guy dancing was cool.
Love seeing guys play outside of their bread & butter, Billy strings with a les paul bluesy bends.. awesome! Now I want to see him ripping a tele!!
Agreed 🔥 it would suit his playing style so much more
Look at that crowd ! Jerry would be proud!
Sax playing is on point
I enjoyed the sax also.
Is this casey from TAB ?
Always!!!
Its awesome seeing Magner play some GD
God, I should have went this night too. Such good vibes
AWESOME TUNE!
US BLUES 🎶❤️
Ain’t no luck, learned to duck😳
Billy owns the Dead music like Jerry did !
Just AWESOME!
I can't remember how many times I saw the Grateful Dead play this for an encore.
fantastic version definitely need a tour
WHOA! I’d go see this group!
this is what Dead and Co should sound like - a pulse!!
dead and co's drummers are super duper old thats why
Not that comatose lope
@@Infraredx you realize you’re talking about one of the same drummers for this group right?
@@Derekshorts234 yes i do but his co drummer is carrying this show basically
Eh even without the drummers, that's just Weir's thing now, slow and quiet.
Passing the torch.
Killin it!!❤
The Twirlers. Need I say more ?! I’d love to be in that Crowd!!!
Whos the dude on the sax hes badass
Excellent. Better than D&C actually. Bobby would has said the songs "need to breath"...no they don't, they need to rock! Great job Kids!
bobby kinda sux. there's a bunch of cover bands doing dead tunes WAYYYY better than weir and Mayer. I LOVE Oteill tho!!!

Just glad I'm not the one who ruined 420 views... I was 422
Hell yeah!
Billy Strings is other worldly
This is special.
If you thought summer wasn't hot enuogh! My oh My BMFK BMFS! 🔥🔥🔥✌️❤️
I feel this in my knees.
I think Billy bought that Gibson from Norman's on his way to Bill K's birthday in HI.
They should have done a video about it. That’d be cool.
Billy diid pick one while he was there. I'd like to know more about the Gibson.
m.ruclips.net/video/2DhXhJ9tmjc/видео.html
Oh hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍👍
They really just go for it.
🔥 sorry love dead and company but Billy strings and thisline up is amazing
This is good. Real good.
Billys got the spirit! Playing electric guitar is a lot different than playing acoustic, much more to think about, volume effects, dynamics.
You must not be a guitarist..... To do what Billy does to a flat top take way more talent than playing the dead on a les paul.
Holy mackerel, that smokes!
LOVE THIS.
so much better than Dead & Corporation.
This guy is special.
Rock and roll. 'nuf said.
Well, can't blame any slowness on Billy.
Its great to be Dead Live
Always better with one drummer- the drummer.
My oh my🎉
WOW!
Killin it
Rock and Roll kids! ⚡
RIP James Casey 🎷
Well done 🇺🇸👊💥😎⚡️⚡️⚡️
Every day I thank the Lord above for Robert Hunter.
Wow this is good
+ James Casey on sax!!
The place was jumpin!
I know I'm blaspheming but this is better than any version the GD ever played *ducks*
Love red rocks Colorado from Patti Cornell
Ripple is my favorite since fforever
Quite a lively bunch
Gimme 5 Billy’s alive !
Billy’s definitely a amazing guitar player but he can sing his butt off as well,
Enjoy folks. This year might be Billy’s farewell tour. ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

According to the description this was in 2021, but I think it was 2022
Dope..Jerry would swaying
Do these guys kick ass or what!
I wonder how many people in the audience knew the words to that song! It seemed like everybody they filmed wasn’t quite sure either. Lol.
Especially Billy reading them off his teleprompter tablet lol
It's a young crowd in that part of Colorado, and we're getting significantly older 🤣
ancient sandstone vibrates ... it pleases the gods .. and the people rejoiced ...
02:48 Bill Kreutzmann SLAMS
Check my pulse it don't change. 4 winds blowing Billy
blows DEAD and CO away.
I wouldn't pay 2 cents to see Dead and Co. I've seen videos of Phil Lesh's band and I really like them.
This swings its ass off when you got Billy and that crew in the engine room... Dead and company swings like a broken down cement mixer
@@paulinwoburn9680phill is where it’s at his band is so tight and always has someone new onboard
💯
Dead and slo
I was there
Back in the garage recording and pressing on
Holy guacamole!
What it is 🌹🖤🌹
Old Grateful Dead rocks
From UVM feldhouse love you from Patti Cornell
I want to see Billy so bad 😭
You got to. I've seen him four times since Oct, and I'm going again in Nov.
Smoked it.
Liquid. Hot. Mag-ma.
I still miss Jerry, but not as much now that Billy is around.
I think back to 1967 and I just can't do this anymore. Srry.
No way! 💀🎶🎸
europe next
REED!!!
I like this version, maybe a little too fast, Bill I think he thinks "hey guys, calm down"; an Italian Deadhead....
33 billy boy 33
Who's the sax player?
James Casey! Sadly, he died a few weeks ago from fucking cancer. He was part of Trey's band and countless others.
🪄
I’ll bet billy can tour with a genuine Les Paul….for fear of it not getting stolen, or a full beer being thrown at it…ha ha ha
