I returned from Tokyo, 6/30. Very, very clean. Me and a friend did a go cart tour for 1.25hrs in Tokyo. I saw 1 paper flying and 1 leaf. No debris pushed against the curb. No glass fragments. It was amazing. I loved it. I told my friend we could never do this in any city in the USA and not have paper fly in our face.

I remember hearing the story about the first refrigerators sold in America. They sat down and talked about how they would continue to make money once everyone in America had a refrigerator. In classic form, they decided to make their product less reliable. This also allowed them to create a whole new source of income….appliance repair. I heard a similar thing about the lightbulb as well. Infuriating.

It’s a great culture to experience in Japan, but largely their successes are difficult to replicate. Their successes are largely based on a homogenous community where certain things are suppressed or pushed down. The free talking free willing American culture would not stand for it. Our greatest strengths in America is tied to our greatest curses. The same can be said about Japan.

I keep going back cuz it's a great trip every time, and every time I see a different part of Japan. Also, the fashion is awesome. I accidentally left my purse in the changing room of a boutique. I’ve lived a total of 3 years in Japan and my Wife has lived there a total of 5 years. We absolutely loved it. I lived in both Misawa and Yokota and my Wife Okinawa and Yokota. We’re both retired Air Force and let me tell you how wonderful Japan is… It’s clean, safe, and comfortable. We talk about moving there all the time in our quest to leave the United States. The only issue I had/have is property acquisition. I’m not the renting type, I need a house to call my own. I’ve heard they have made some changes to this and that non-citizens are now able to buy land/property but I have not verified that; I guess I’ll be looking into it today. 😂 In my experience, 🇯🇵Japanese people love Black culture more than they love Black people, but they are super respectful and do not really get into the nosiness and will not encroach upon your person. They will also not deny you anything based off your skin tone directly . They will however do this behind close doors and they will hide in plain sight. Example: They have several bars and restaurants that are well hidden that they will not allow anyone to enter, this includes Americans and Black people; but… It was never a bother as if your don’t want to drink with me or make money from me, it’s all good; just don’t disrespect my Family. Hope this helps! Loving the show by the way…

I love the Japanese shinkansen bullet trains. They run fast and comfy, they run on time, you can get to most places in the country by train. And then you can ride your bike and park it at a bicycle parking lot at a train station, catch your train, then hop back on you bike upon return and pedal off home. We hang on to old America because we become the big steppers when the rest of the world was struggling, survived wars and they too time to learn form their mistakes. In doing so, we lost a national consciousness/identity, and in its place we instilled capitalism. And all our problems from social, economic, identity wars and such stem from our failure to have a national consciousness. I was there this past May and it's super clean. I'm from NY and the MTA is garbage compared to theirs which is effecient on time and clean. People don't talk, and they stand aside to let people on and off. They are a number of black americans living and describe how welcoming the people are to them. They don’t ever to come back to the U.S.
They, love 90s hiphop and a lot of black american culture, fashion, etc. S.Korea is similar very, clean and efficient. Both countries have great and healthy foods, they don't have obesity issues there. You rarely see fat people.

I agree about Japan. Very clean. Respectful. I've been several times. My former band actually filmed a video there. Also, the process for weapons (guns, specifically) is very strict. Which is why gun violence there is extremely rare. Oh, and the US gave them reparations for dropping those bombs so I think you're cool, Karen.
    See, reparations ARE possible.

On the car point, I'm nitpicking, but planned obsolescence doesn't apply to cars. Cars actually run better and last longer than they used to. They also are much safer than they used to be. The reason people don't keep them long is because of capitalist incentive to buy new cars and car dependency, not because the cars break down faster.
