I appreciate this discussion and I would venture to say that there is a crucial difference between belonging to a particular group and BEING IN COMMUNITY. Many times, groups develop that mentality that they are better than other groups, or they're competing against other groups. It is vital that we are seen as unique and made in the image of God as individuals. I have always been a bit leery about joining a group, because that usually means you must adhere to a certain "groupthink". But I joyfully and completely love to be in a group that is a real COMMUNITY. I think that is what Dr, Hunter and Dr. Black are talking about. There is nothing better than truly being part of life as you struggle along to realize better possibilities in a COMMUNITY, because a community implies an acceptance and celebration of ALL the human beings in that community. Great conversation.
Dr.Black has such a brilliant mind. I enjoy the rapport you two have with each other but also seeing him work through a thought or idea you present and the gems they illicit. Much love and blessings across the water from Amsterdam! 🙏🏿

You probably know about this already, but in the NYTimes today is an article about the refound and newly republished autobiography by the brother of Harriet Jacobs entitled "The United States Governed by Six Hundred Thousand Despots ", written by John Swanson Jacobs. I would love to see you do a program on this, either with the professor who was able to rediscover this or just discussion by you and other historians and academics on the importance of this discovery. Thank you as always!

As long as there is scarcity there will be conflict. The whole idea of god is born from determining in group and out group. If we we as humans are to create a more balanced world we have to approach are circumstances from reality.

@karenl7786 we perceive the world as finite, and unlike other animals, most humans are not comfortable with taking a life. So we make up shit like race, religion, and other social constructs to rationalize how we divide the resources

"You've got to be in the cycle of trading life force", a small little comment that I bet will get passed over. We have become wed to the belief that we can effect a separation from that cycle, thus we do not fully respect the life force of each other, other living entities, the living land and waters, and ourselves. Any and everything we do is only going to go so far until we acknowledge this, or destroy ourselves in continuing to deny it.
