So while I understand the criticism of this show from a journalistic point of view, lets not act like this show is anything more than what it is. We also need to stop expecting every successful black talk show platform (be it radio, podcast, or TV talk show) to adhere to some high standard of journalistic decorum and seriousness. What I would like to see is guests who have appeared on The Breakfast Club who Prof Hunter feel were not taken to task or asked the hard journalistic questions over the things that they have said, come onto this show and get asked the hard questions and get push back from the things that they have said.

If you google Meek's release you will find Rubin in the pictures with Meek picking him up from prison on his helicopter. Meek attended the Sixers game later that night and was recognized during the game. Kevin Hart (Philly native) and Rubin sat courtside with him. Meek name-dropped Rubin on his song "What's Free" with Jay-Z and Rick Ross a few months later. Rubin also did an interview on HBO's "Real Sports" with Bryant Gumbel back then claiming to be an ally and strong supporter of criminal justice rights because of his growing relationship with Meek. Rubin then co-founded #REFORM with Vann Jones (CNN), Meek, Jay, and New England Patriots' owner Robert Kraft. Ever since then, he has been accepted in circles within hip-hop. He already had the pro sports connection which helped his White Parties gain the status that Diddy's White Parties used to have before his scandals brought him down.
