TMNT 2012 actually had some really serious moments. I would argue it's darker than the 2003 series. I don't want to spoil anything, but when things get going, things get GOING.

There is a lot of memories with Battle nexus. I was playing it with my friends in a past year and we beat it completely(and yeah, we those sick bastard's who complete all the racing levels with 3 turtles on the screen) . Like we got some double S status not only on racing levels but also on some regular ones with boss fights. And then TMNT Shredder's revenge was released, an I was fine with that game, it's solid beat em up after all, one of my friends was like "THIS GAME IS AWESOME" and another one was like "meh, let's go play battle nexus". We all grow up with 2003 series btw . And when I asked my friend why he chose the old TMNT 2 game he said that this game had more content on higher speed, he also said that after Shredder's revenge he was feeling bored and tired after few short sessions. It's sad that the second show doesn't getting as much attention as 87 version. I like the old show but the fact that companies care only about that piece of nostalgia when things comes to video games is annoying.

Yeah, it seems like TMNT game had their great years starting out. But then, the series went downhill for a while and then bounced back up with TMNT Shredders Revenge and the Cowabunga Collection. And I agree, I hope that they will make more TMNT games.
03 turtles Is my generation!! I’m 28 Years old and I was still happily watch it!! As for the first PS2 game It’s probably my favourite game as a child, playing it with my cousin

The only TMNT games I remember was on Nintendo 8-bits and the show on VHS anything else after these will never be the same TMNT as we 80's and 90's grow up with.

Out of the Shadows was amazing combat wise. The small budget and development time killed the potential but damn was it fun. Also hated having to rotate the stick or do quarter and half circles to do moves.

there was a gamecube or ps2 turtles game that i remember seeing at blockbuster and i cannot for the life of me recall its name. i remember reading on the case somewhere about RPG elements and leveling up turtles and skills. either im mis-remembering things (probably) or I checked out a different game and remember it as turtles.

As someone whos been around since the original comics, You gotta give the 2012 Nick turtles a chance. Every turtles series starts off feeling for "childish" than the previous because thats how every series is. Every Turtles incarnation starts off light hearted, even with how "serious" 2003 's first episode felt, they quickly get with the yucks. You only remember that series being always serious because thats how our memories work, and your forgetting how goofy and toyetic EVERY TMNT series and movie is. And just like 2003, the 2012 get into a groove and give us those mature stories the TMNT can do. Its the same with Rise, everyone called it for babies and what we actually got was a fun series with hands down the best action the turtles have ever had.
TLDR every piece of Turtles media is made for kids, even things pandering to older fans still wants and aims for kids, never forget that.

I was born in 2002. This and the 2007 movie are the Turtles that I grew up with in the late 2000s watching them on 4Kids TV. I'll always have a soft spot for that show, that movie, and these games. I was also a big fan of the 2012 series and the first Bay movie in my tween years lol.

I really dislike 2012 style..
As someone who also grew up on the '03 Turtles, the 2012 Turtles hit pretty hard. You need to give it another try, it really does start off goofy, but it gets really serious and dark later on. The voice cast is great, story makes sense and is still fun to follow, and the combat in the series is so much more than the stillframes of characters getting hit and then being thrown toward the camera we got in the 2D animation that the '03 Turtles had. It's so good, and although I still prefer the '03 cast just off of nostalgia bias, the 2012 Turtles go hard as fuck. Don't sleep on them, you'd seriously miss out.
Matty I love the OG turtles, and the 03 turtles as well. Just recently I started watching some of the 2012 turtles with my daughter and was totally surprised by how good the story is. Takes a few seasons but it gets pretty crazy.

Turtles 2003 cartoon is still, without question, the best rendition of the Turtles. I never understood why they continue to re-do them. Should have left the best version alone as is.

I loved tmnt 2003 and smash up when I was a kid. Gettint tmnt 03 for christmas is a core memory and I still own the game to this day. Even the day me and my friend beat the whole story in one day together. Best tmnt game

You should watch TMNT 2012, it's an amazing show. Judging it based on the turtle's design is a mistake, it's a pretty mature show and is really great.

Yeah, you need to watch 2012. Series is very good, and balances levity and stakes very well. Gets very mature. Don't knock that it's on Nick, it gave us Avatar and Korra.

Not gonna lie, "TMNT out of the shadows" for XBOX was awesome to me, played it so much back in day. This trip down memory lane was great, thanks. Take care all.
Honestly I could go on for hours about how much of an impact TMNT had on my childhood. It was one of my biggest hyperfixations as a kid, and recently, it's come back in full force.
I played and enjoyed a few TMNT games but for now, my favorite versions of TMNT are that animated movie with immortal stone people........
and that 3D cartoon series with brain aliens in robot suits and their mutagen.

The 2003 animated show game and the 2007 movie tie in were my childhood. I loved those games so much. I'm sure if I played the 2007 game today it definitely would not hold up but I remember being a dumb kid having fun with it.
Hi Retro I recommend gameboy advance Ubisoft’s tmnt, this one is a home run. It is Scott pilgrim beat ‘em up but with tmnt. It has depth, good graphics, and is fun. I recommend playing it on the Retron sq with the option of a hdmi to composite\ s video adapter.
Definitely. Some of the people who worked on the Shredder's Revenge also worked on the GBA TMNT when they were at Ubisoft Montreal and it shows. Of course it's not as polished as it could be, being a first attempt and an Ubisoft-published liscenced handheld game, but it's great fun.

Always enjoy hearing love for TMNT 2003. Loved this show as a kid, love it still as an adult.
TMNT 2: Battle Nexus was not only my first TMNT game I played, but also happened to be the first game I played on a PS2. So I have very deeply fond memories of it. And some frustrating ones, like the much more challenging sections. Oddly enough, because of how much I was used to Battle Nexus, when I played TMNT1 on the Gamecube for the first time around the same age, I actually had a much more difficult time really getting into it. Even years later, it feels very much like a pick-up/put-down game every so often. 3, however, I have never played, but do have. I plan to get to it after beating TMNT1 for the first time, then beating Battle Nexus all over again.

They should make an Arkham/Spider-Man PS4-esque TMNT game. I think the franchise would fit that type of game very well.
This video was too long. Halfway through it, I got hungry so I left it playing and went to the kitchen to fix myself a sandwich. But then I found out that I'm out of mayonnaise so I went to a store. There, I saw the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my whole life. But I'm a really shy person so I took up a three-year personality development course so I could introduce myself. She was very friendly and all, but unfortunately, she had a boyfriend. So I said, all good, I'm a mature person. I wanted the best for her and I harbored no illusion that I am the best person for her and she seemed happy with her boyfriend, so I didn't bother her anymore. But we kept in touch and we became friends and I got over my crush on her. Then she broke up with her boyfriend, we drank some alcohol because of it. I told her she'll be fine and I wished her well. I still think she's the most beautiful woman in the world, but like I said, I am over my crush on her. It was like five years already since I first saw her. Besides, I am quite happy with the friendship I developed with her. It was more important than a crush. So we kept hanging out, drinking, having coffee, and all. I had a girlfriend, she started dating other guys. My girlfriend wanted to live some other life without me in it, so I said, "Okay, I want the best for you and I want you to pursue your happiness." My lady friend and I drank alcohol about it, and she gave me the same advice I gave her when she was in that position and I became okay with the breakup immediately. But we were really drunk, so she spent the night in my apartment. I only have one bed, so you know what that means: She took the bed and I slept on the couch. But on the couch, I really can't sleep. Something was bothering me. So I tossed and turned for about three hours, then I finally couldn''t take it anymore, I stood up and went straight to my room where she's sleeping. I approached the bed, gently sat on it and I reached for her shoulder to pull her closer to me. She stirred and woke up. She asked what's up. I told her, "you know, the first time I saw you, I was watching a video and left it playing to get myself a sandwich then went to the store to get some mayo then I got so distracted by life that I forgot to finish the video." She said, "You know what, I've been wondering about a weird noise in your night drawer." So we opened that drawer, and lo and behold, there's my phone and this video still has two minutes of play time on it.
I wished I bought Turtles in Time Re-Shelled but I already had the Turtles in time SNES cartridge.
Of the games listed in the review, I played and own Attack of the Arcade, Out of the Shadows, Smash Up and Shredder's Revenge. I skipped the 2003 Turtles games and tv show. I enjoyed Out of the Shadows game. However, my favorite TMNT games are Turtles in Time and Hyperstone Heist.
Out of the shadows had the bones of an amazing game. The combat is so fun. It’s clearly unfinished but man I had so much fun with the Arkham style fighting.
Arkham style combat mixed with Ninja Turtles is a natural pairing. Batman and Ninja Turtles both have similar fighting styles and styles of crime fighting. That idea needs to ve revisted with a '"AAA" budget.
While i love tmnt 2003 part 1 game, i love tmnt 2007 more. It has a better fighting experience (though perhaps slow paced), and my favorite element of the game is definitely the parkour/ acrobatics. Sure it is simple, and not so open worlded, but its great, especially for that time. You would wanna tune in a goood action music, and play those acrobatic based games

I've never seen a single episode of '03 TMNT but I agree it's the coolest look EVER for the turtles. I don't know why they never came back to it; modern action figures of this rendition would also be amazing to have.
Yeah, the 2003 version will always be my favorite the 2012 version the way it looks I didn’t like, and I also enjoyed TMNT Out of Shadows yeah it has problems I experienced glitches one of them made me had to start a new game because it prevented me from continuing the story, but the stuff overall I did enjoy it.

Also I had severe nostalgia bias for the 80s/early 90s Turtles. I do remember watching and liking a few episodes but never really getting into it. I would love to try and give '03 Turtles another shot now that I'm older and can appreciate a more serious Turtle series.

story about battlenexus with many different emotions involved: my best friend and I growing up played the hell out of that, he was Raph and I was Mikey. sad part he was hit by a car and killed nearly 3 years ago. I went to amazon to order that game as a kind of memorial but dumbasses at amazon sent the strategy guide (I ordered it as a combo deal) and refunded my money for the game itself. despite trying it hasn't come back up yet, at least a PS2 version hasn't. and subject change: mutant melee is on PS2 but very rare and very expensive.
The TMNT games on PS2 were garbage nothing was as great as the arcade machines even the Simpson games sucked
Probably late for this but Mutant Melee was on PC, I know that's not a console but still worth mentioning.

Cool Vid Man! I played the 2003 Konami games and they definitely could've been better but I still enjoyed em'.... Tried TMNT 2012(PC), didn't like it as well. In defense of those series TMNT 2012 and Rise of the TMNT actually both do have really serious moments and depth in the characters, it’s just hard to see when looking at them from the outside, the Rise of the TMNT Movie especially does get pretty dark and genuinely intense
Not to mention how gorgeously animated Rise is. It's basically Gainax on Crack, it's *that* good

The 2007 TMNT console game may not be to your liking but the GBA game is actually a solid 2D beat ‘em up. And lots of people who made the GBA TMNT game went on to make Shredder’s Revenge.

2012 Turtles surprised me on how good it is I highly recommend you giving it a shot you will not disappointed the games are Ass but the show is really good definitely give it a goo

TMNT 2007 was a mixed bag. And yes I played it on GameCube along . TMNT smash up was very very good on Wii back in the day

If they released a 4Kids era game anthology, it shouldn't be called "Cowabunga Collection Vol. II", it should be called something like "What the Shell Collection", since cowabunga wasn't really a thing in that show (it came up, but only as an occasional reference, not as a catchphrase).

There is a TMNT 2007 GBA game that is actually pretty good its a 16 bit type of game I don't know how many people don't talk about it
I've never seen such a biased review for TMNT 2007. The dude didn't talk about any of the boss battles or co-op at all. His entire review boils down to not liking a catchphrase and thinking you just hold down a button and win. You only get that after going on a streak of KOs. He complained about the sound quality while playing the Xbox 360 version of the game. The last time I checked, I thought it was universal that the gamecube version was the best version of the game. Then you didn't even show footage of the thing you were complaining about
