@@Octagongd the southern one for me, it was like 500m from my lifepod, and i comepletly forgot the map, but i was super central near the uh, shrome cave and the trench down to the river
About salt and its potential. If you’re playing hard-core, it is your main source of water until you can get Bubo trees and marble melons in your cyclops plus it’s way easier to manage your hydration because it gives even more than the unfiltered water. This is basically hacks bleach is a weird recipe for water. It requires one tube, coral sample and one salt deposit. Once you make bleach, you can make two bottles of unfiltered water, which means easier management of inventory, as well as filling your entire water meter with only a few disinfected waters. You can actually fill your entire meter to 100 with only four of them and since one bleach is two filtered waters you save time with inventory management😅
Yup, I take the water from the desalinator on expeditions where I have no access to a fabricator, keep it along with a medpack, cured peeper/reginald and a beacon in my seamoth, prawn and personal inventor at all times. Otherwise I use the salt from the desalinator for bleach and that's the water I drink when I do have a fabricator at hand.
5:24 salt is actually really useful. It is used to craft the best water source for the early game. If you take salt and a coral tube sample, you can make bleach, which turns into 2 bottles of distilled water. Distilled water fills more water than the filtered water that comes from Bladderfish, plus you don't have to hunt down fish to get it. I usually just transition to Marblemelons and Bulbo Trees for my food and water needs once I hit the mid-game though.
For early Crystalline Sulfur, such as needing it to get the Jet Boosters for the Prawnsuit, (because who wants to navigate the Prawnsuit into deeper areas without it!), head down to the Lost River area with your Seamoth. Then swim around hovering just above the lethal green river, this will allow you to see nodes of Crystalline Sulfur. Use the Propulsion Cannon to suck those little buggers right out of the river without taking damage.
I tried the water filtration system in my base, but then I realized just how much energy it took and decided to save it for when I have a base reliant on thermal or nuclear energy. Now I just have a swarm of bulbo trees in my base to serve as emergency water rations. :)
Sparse Reef with the nearby areas just contains so much resources that it tempts me everytime to make a base there or in the grassy plateau beside it. Everything except for the Nickel and Kyanite (maybe Uranium but who needs it en masse) can be found near there. Also one honorable mention id give to the north blood kelp zone LR corridor, that corridor and the forest after it contains a LOT of titanium and copper nodes. I filled my whole cyclops with them and had to come back home to offload it.
Placing a scanner room in the deep sparse reef is so overpowered, you get visibility into so many areas. I will definitely have to check out the northern LR corridor
Depending on where you place your base, you can get uranium within fair distance as well. The blood kelp trench can spawn a fair few large deposits to keep your reactor running for ages. Get a scanner room with some upgrades and you never need to worry about running out of power again
I’m currently at work salvaging every single piece of metal salvage in the game and every fragment. To help clean up the ocean. Man I wish we could salvage scraps of wrecks. I have so many lockers full of titanium ingots, it’s crazy. I set up a scanner room as a base behind the aurora and have three range upgrades and one speed. Once I’ve gotten every metal piece and every fragment in the scannable area, I deconstruct the scanner room and move it a few hundred meters to get the next cache. Honestly, it’s quite a fun task. And I wish the crash zone away from the ship was more diverse because I really love the crash zone plateaus
bro I swear this guy never fails to take my breath away, good job for making a really useful video!!! NOW I KNOW WHERE THE LOST RIVER IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the guide. Traveling all the way to the lost river takes awhile with cyclops and prawn so this is much nicer going to sparse reef and blood kelp trench.
Me: who has 3 mega bases and has almost run out of the stuff trying to make a tube to the bottom of the void I’ve depleted the crash zone and almost all of the bulb zone
For all things dropping from Shale deposits, i highly recommend going 1600SW of spawn and 300 deep to the Sea Treader Path; every step they take unearths more of the Shale deposits, and you can leave behind what you don’t need. It’s quite safe for a deep region, and cyclops/sea moth friendly
Sea treaders path is the best biome in the game Near alien caches Near 90% of the materials and like 40% of the big ones Extremely usefull things that are hard to find 100% safe Can build a void observatory near Is near an island Is near the lost river entrance Has one of the coolest leviathans and tons of shit Etc etc
So glad RUclips lead... 😂 (resource) me to your channel! I've been binge watching your content the past few days!! Excited to see more content! Super insightful!
I’d like to add that the Sea Treader’s Path is an absolutely amazing place for finding lithium, gold, and diamonds. The Sea Treaders kick up dust which reveals shale outcrops which can be mined infinitely as long as you follow a Sea Treader. And with relatively little predators or danger, its an easy stop to make to stock up on resources.
Another great place to mine for both silver and Titanium is the dunes Dunes is dangerous due to the multiple reapers but it is honestly a hidden gem much like the crashsite. High risk high reward. I usually come back from Dune trips loaded with titanium and silver. I only wish now that copper was more common in these dangerous areas to round out my needs 😂
2:35 Dude i wanted to go get my cyclops and seamoth down to the lost river junction so, starting from the skeleton closes to the tree cove, i took my seaglide and picked some bladderfish up around the cove and made my way all the way to the thermal plant teleporter just to get back to the tower island and retrieve my other vehicles. Shit u not had barely 30 secs left when i made it to the airtight gate. Picked up some Kyanite on the way through! 2 failed attempts LOL
Kelp Forest is hands down the best source (at least early game) for just about anything. You get both types of outcrops besides shale, kelp shavings/fruit, titanium, dogteeth, and can refill on air. Scanning for even more titanium + i believe there's crashfish or at least not far away. Just be careful about building a base there as the doggos will play fetch with your scanner room cameras.
then when you go to the mountain island, if you dont forget to grab magnetite from the shallow parts around the island, plus all the shale, you basically can ignore the jellyshrooms
So. Ive been told that metal salvage respawns at the bsck of the aurora. Im mewlry completely out exceot for reaper areas (like scammer picks up nothing with max range) does it truely resoawn or am i being pranked
I’m wondering if there’s any locations where Magnetite spawns above 200 meters. I like to play with the Deathrun mod, which requires magnetite for the habitat builder, and also adds a personal crush depth of 200m without the radiation suit. Since the Jellyshroom Cave goes way below 200m I can’t get the habitat builder until after the Aurora explodes and I’m impatient when I’m speedrunning the progression
Your best bet might be to try in the shallower parts of the mountains or mountain caves by the mountain island, pretty much every other area is gonna be below 200m (accept for 1 part of the sea treaders path which sits at 170m according to the wiki)
But this mining 8s all assuming that you can find the prawn suit and the drill arm fragments to even mine them. A guide on how to get these 2 things would be great

I can't believe bro said the mountain island is better than the sea treader's path when it LITERALLY has INFINITE shale outcrops.
That you also have to wait for them tj be dug up and also have to watch oxygen. You don't need enough diamond for that to be a better option.
@@rickywood8805prawn suit is the answer to oxygen, and even then the path has WAY more than just diamonds
You can get lithium and diamonds way faster on the island
