I beg to differ, that was some of the most banal stock music I’ve ever heard… everything else about the video was good though. Music at the end was fairly decent.
This game kept me so captivated! An absolute masterpiece this instilled that hydrophobia, claustrophobia, and megalophobia to the fullest! They did an amazing job of making the player feel helpless and stranded on an alien planet.
I was going to the Degasi Base and brought my cyclops into the deep grand reef, not a good time trying to get it back out. Plus I nearly ran into the patroling ghost leviathan above. I would like to see it done without hitting 30 anchor pods along the way.
that's the entrance i used i hit the rocks a good bit but the sub doesn't take damage from collisions. also only 1 ghost leviathan between there and the cove tree silent running fixed that.
Out of all of these entrances, the bulb zone entrance is easily my favorite due to the amount of space for a cyclops and a very nearby entrance to the inactive lava zone

There's another entrance to the lost river in the blood kelp trench that takes you to the bones field corridor I believe. I built my base just above the trench and LR entrance. It was just big enough for my cyclops with my subpar piloting abilities
(03:25) i normally take other route to get to that entrance. I go to Life Pod 17 and just after you get there just continue in the same direction and you will get in to a large rift were you can see the blood kelp then you just need to go down thru the right side of the rift and you eventually will get on to the same spot.
There's a fifth entrance just to the left around the corner from the one you showed in the blood trench, it's slightly easier to fit the cyclops. Btw, you can use all the entrances with the cyclops, just the grand reef and the north kelp are a huge pain in the butt expecially the north blood kelp with the leviathan still alive (stupid glitchy trees)
Bro I tried three times using that entrance because I heard it was the best for cyclops. Every time a different tree wouldn't load until my cyclops was halfway through it lol
@@NachtFaust-kq5fi it's closer to the tree than most entrances, but i wouldn't say it's straight to it. You end up in the lost river right at the tail of the gargantuan leviathan.
The Lost River is actually super peaceful if you take out the juvenile ghost leviathans--they don't respawn. They also don't seem to regenerate HP so you don't need to kill them in one sitting if you have to high tail it back to a base for first aid. My first kill took a few trips. The second was a lot easier and I got it done in one. I don't know if my strategy is a "good" one, but it got the job done--also not sure if this would be the best strategy against any of the full size leviathans "in the wild", but here it is. I started with a prawn suit, fully charged stasis rifle, thermal knife, and a lot of patience. I positioned the prawn suit in a spot where I could easily see the ghost leviathan and in its zone of attack, but where it would limit some of it's angles on me. From there what worked best was waiting for the leviathan to get into a game of chicken with you. When he turns and divebombs and heads STRAIGHT towards you--jump out of your prawnsuit--blast him IN THE FACE with the stasis rifle--it won't work anywhere except his head. Once you have that, immediately switch to your thermal knife and HACK AWAY ON HIS HEAD as many times as that stasis bubble allows you to---then book it back to your prawn suit. Repeat as many times as necessary until you vanquish the vile beast. Scan it before its body dissolves in the brine and then drill resources in peace to your heart's content.
Heard they are less hostile against prawn suits, also doesnt the prawn suit deal more damage? btw i guess the ghost leviathan will spawn each time you reload the game or nah?
@@Miliradian I've never noticed a difference in their hostility in terms of any of the vehicles I was in--they attack them all. I have seen people use the grapple arm to kind of lasso onto the leviathan's head and then drill into it with the other arm, but the drill arm is surprisingly weak to attack with so it's going to take a while either way (FYI this is also the method to take out the Sea Dragon Leviathan in the Lava Zone--the thermal knife is ineffective against the Sea Dragon) And no, the "in-game" leviathans do NOT respawn--once you kill them, they are gone for good until you start a whole new playthrough. (By "in-game" leviathans, I mean the ones that occur within the boundaries of the map--they will spawn and respawn indefinitely in the Void.)
the only knock against this video I have is it sends you to where while they spawn in a diffrent part of the same biome for instance the blood kelp trench there is a ghost leviathan who will frequently leave where he is suppposed to patrol and either go super close to if not in the near by mushroom forest to it (this is the north western mushroom forest if I remember correctly). and then he also forgot to mention the 2 ghost leviathans whom do live in parts of the deep grand reef
I don't know if you're still doing Subnautica videos, but if you do, I think it would be really helpful if you did a few sonar pings periodically to show the topography more clearly. I don't know if it's my device, but a lot of the Subnautica videos I've seen are really dark and hard to see. Just a thought! Stay awesome.
You have no idea how much I needed this, story below (I just finished experiencing it too): During a earlier session I was in the lost River when I realized I needed to get a orange tablet for something. I was being dumb not bringing food and continued to explore deeper with only my Seamoth as at the time, I didn’t unlock the Cyclopes. I died to starvation. Attempt after attempt I tried to dive to get the Seamoth I named Dezaos. I tried everything as this specific ship had upgrades I wouldn’t dare let destroyed. Finally, I decide to look for the final hull piece and found it near the mushroom trees . I was able to build the Cyclopes but struggled to find an entrance until I found this video and copied it with the Cyclopes. I saw my Seamoth in the distance! I said “Calloo Callay” as I finally reunited with the Seamoth and head back home. Adventuring to the Lost River another day, better prepared. Authors note: Yes, I am using Alice in wonderland in that last part, recently watched it.
I really like the lost river entrance near Proposed Degasi Base (500m) that takes you through the Grand Reef. I almost NEVER run into baddies, and I never get lost. I really wanna find the Bulb Zone entrance though. It's a bit more dangerous, but it's the widest opening for the cyclops.
The blood kelp entrance I was there just last night, the trench, "You're required to maneuver straight down this trench until you come to this point," oh sorry wrong trench run lol
You were really helpful❤️ You helped me finish this great video game... One of my favorites. I swear I couldn't finish it but now I'll succeed! ❤️❤️😘😘😘💕💕💕💖💖😍😍
Jesus thank you so much I actually setup a base, with a beacon...whilst I was pretty smashed...Next day just had a becon icon and didn't have a clue how to get back 😂
I am a new player and I have been procrastinating doing this for way too long. I even went as far as to build an entire base before attempting this. I can’t wait to see my nightmares come true 😊😊😊
Pro tips. If you don't have the MK.3 depth module for your seamoth, you can also just use a non-upgraded P.R.A.W.N suit to navigate. However, you cannot access the lavazone. I would also reccomend, if your going to take the first bloodkelp trecnh (As shown in the video), you can get a cuddlefish egg if you turn to the left.
The bulb zone is literally so comfortable to fit through the Blood kelp trench or any blood kelp biome always gives me the feeling of uncomfortableness not because its scary but the plants and crab squids just make me eouggnfnjfjejejsiq
Just started playing his game... Didn't start watching RUclips till I played 16 hours (highly recommend I enjoyed the game a lot more.) Anyways.. What I enjoy about this game there isn't only 1 path. Way before evening getting my seaglide I ventured near the 1st entrance. I placed pipes till 200m but never really saw much with my 150sec oxygen. But that was a great experiencie to venture into the unknown
I think the last one is the most dangerous and the degasi base or the bulb zone one is the best but can you please recommend which will be the best one for the cyclops from all 4 of these thanks love ya
@@dan584 i went through the bulb zone and i reccomend it. there is an active lava zone entrance very close, however there is a juvenile ghost leviathan there (at least in my playthrough)
6:03 - What is that weird sound like scrap metal being stirred up? I notice that it follows you around everywhere the same way that it does to me. No matter what vehicle I use, no matter what region I’m in, every ten minutes or so, “crunch-ka-crunch-crunch”.
I take my cyclops full of lockers to the Bulb Zone entrance with my Prawn Suit to collect resources. And in my Cyclops I take just enough resources to build a small outpost with thermal for power scanner room with 3 range and 1 faster scan modules so that I can mark all those resources for quick easy collection. I will then use my Cyclops as a mobile storage to setup other outposts or bases.

Late but fun fact, there is an entrance nearby the grand reef lost river one that takes you pretty much through the lost river and takes you inside of the one of the lava zones

I go to Life Pod 17 and just after you get there just continue in the same direction and you will get in to a large rift were you can see the blood kelp then you just need to go down thru the right side of the rift and you eventually will get on to the same spot.
I never go there because of how close it is to the dunes
@@thedragonballmaniac6775 yes it is but is perfectly "safe" to go there
There's a fifth entrance just to the left around the corner from the one you showed in the blood trench, it's slightly easier to fit the cyclops.
@@tigerstariv2724 I think you are talking about the north blood kelp entrance, the one with the annoyng tree... The trench has none of those
Are you talking about the one that leads straight to the cove tree?
I had no clue you could get there from the Deep Grand Reef! Your videos are so informative!!
Super helpful thanks! I built a base 500m from the entrance to the bulb zone one without knowing it!
thanks gdg! needed this.
God finally a channel that cares about their subscribers and makes good fawking tutorials
the only knock against this video I have is it sends you to where while they spawn in a diffrent part of the same biome for instance the blood kelp trench there is a ghost leviathan who will frequently leave where he is suppposed to patrol and either go super close to if not in the near by mushroom forest to it (this is the north western mushroom forest if I remember correctly). and then he also forgot to mention the 2 ghost leviathans whom do live in parts of the deep grand reef
the only gripe i have about this post is how frequently i get hate for "spoilers" then hate for not showing them.. ugh i cant win oh well :)
Stay awesome.
thanks mr navigator! 😆cheers ✌
You have no idea how much I needed this, story below (I just finished experiencing it too):
During a earlier session I was in the lost River when I realized I needed to get a orange tablet for something.
Authors note:
Yes, I am using Alice in wonderland in that last part, recently watched it.
If you feel like it bring your cyclops and then bring your prawn to and kill off the ghost leviathan at the 4th one
Lol
🤣👍
You were really helpful❤️ You helped me finish this great video game... One of my favorites. I swear I couldn't finish it but now I'll succeed! ❤️❤️😘😘😘💕💕💕💖💖😍😍
Thanks, helped me a lot!
Jesus thank you so much
I actually setup a base, with a beacon...whilst I was pretty smashed...Next day just had a becon icon and didn't have a clue how to get back 😂
I am a new player and I have been procrastinating doing this for way too long.
I would also reccomend, if your going to take the first bloodkelp trecnh (As shown in the video), you can get a cuddlefish egg if you turn to the left.
that subscribe woosh scared the life out of me
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial
The bulb zone is literally so comfortable to fit through the Blood kelp trench or any blood kelp biome always gives me the feeling of uncomfortableness not because its scary but the plants and crab squids just make me eouggnfnjfjejejsiq
that notification bell scared me more than anything else at 3:45 lol
Just started playing his game... Didn't start watching RUclips till I played 16 hours (highly recommend I enjoyed the game a lot more.)
Anyways.. What I enjoy about this game there isn't only 1 path. Way before evening getting my seaglide I ventured near the 1st entrance.
I placed pipes till 200m but never really saw much with my 150sec oxygen.
But that was a great experiencie to venture into the unknown
The Best entrance for your cyclops would be starting at 4:00
lol 2500 PERSON SEE THIS VIDEO ONLY 1 DISLIKE XD
man your vids are AWESOME YOU HELP ME SO MUCH
Thank you :)
First time playing subnautica and Im absolutely terrified by the lost river.
I have all upgrades now and been there a few times but still afraid to go to the lava zone.
This game is f terrifying. And it doesn't help that I have thallasphobia. 😭
Thanks I was about to take my submarine to the mountains enterance not knowing there's a big enough enterance in the koosh zone
I think the last one is the most dangerous and the degasi base or the bulb zone one is the best but can you please recommend which will be the best one for the cyclops from all 4 of these thanks love ya
I think bulb zone but not entirely sure
@@dan584 i went through the bulb zone and i reccomend it. there is an active lava zone entrance very close, however there is a juvenile ghost leviathan there (at least in my playthrough)
thx for the help i have a base in the bulb zone but i did not know there was an entrance and I had to go to the north east blood kelp
My screen has a crack and it made my think you were casually crossing through mushroom forest at 36% bull integrity 😂 ANXIETY.
6:03 - What is that weird sound like scrap metal being stirred up? I notice that it follows you around everywhere the same way that it does to me. No matter what vehicle I use, no matter what region I’m in, every ten minutes or so, “crunch-ka-crunch-crunch”.
For people who don’t have zero point the blood kelp trench entrance is three clicks west of the giant coral tube
Ice played the game since early access and always thought the grand reef and blood kelpnwhere the only enterances, really cool!
Bruh all your other vids are helpful but this video no matter what I did I could not I
Find it but your vids are still amazing so keep up the good work
I managed to find it just now so thanks for this video you always help keep up the good work
Tysm i just needed to find it for my creative world
oh lord, thanks i literally got saved by this tutorial (my cyclops got destroyed twice)
This video really helped me out, just one question, which one do you consider the safest entrance?
i personally use the floating islands blood kelp entrance. not the safest but my preference
I found an opening in the deep grand reef that was huge, went through it a few times but for some reason I've just completely lost it and can't remember where it is. Haven't found anything big enough for the cyclops since
Really good content, you somehow make it entertaining to watch tho im not using it as an tutorial just entertainment.
There's a second entrance in the bloodkelp Ravine that leads to an area very similar looking to the bulb zone entrance.
I would've loved this approach: "Today, we're going to tell you what's the most and least exciting entrances to the lost river. I want to make sure the money you spent on this game is well-spent, so no easy trips down to the lost deeps."
The bulb zone entrance is the best for the cyclops, is just so big
Late but fun fact, there is an entrance nearby the grand reef lost river one that takes you pretty much through the lost river and takes you inside of the one of the lava zones
Near the last Degasi site correct?
discovered lost river entrance (northern blood kelp today) - there I found alien entrance behind the waterfall and ghost leviatan tried to kill me through the gate between water and air so I coud scan him easily because he was stuck :-D can't wait to discover whole area
wow i put my base in the exact same location. it's a good spot too. it's close to the safe shallows, the grassy plains, the kelp forest areas and there's a jellyshroom cave entrance really close. and as you can see in the video if you go south a bit you can reach the grand reef pretty easily.
1:56 that’s literally where my base is😂
the northern blood kelp zone was the first place I went to get the lost river and I found the ghost Leviathan just before and I got so scared I scanned it and realized how big it is
I always used to go with the cyclops through the deep grand reef in order to get to the degasi base, but now I might change it to the bulb zone XD
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11:54 Rip rabbit ray
😂😂😂😂
Oh you can totally get your cyclops into the lost river from the Degassi Base side.
There is a specific path to get into the degassi cave and, its a TIGHT FIT but you can JUST make it.
BRING PLENTY OF EXTENGUISHERS IF YOU ARENT SURE ABOUT YOIR PILOTING
Sooooo, I found it, cyberbullied a ghost leviathan, aaand then remembered that karma's a bitch and my cyclops ran out of power.
Thanks. I was trying to get my Cyclops through a forest. I was thinking there must be an easier way without trashing the sub.
I actually randomly found one of the holes believe it or not. I was marking one of the blood kelp zones then i realized that there was a steep drop. So with my seaglide i went down, like WAYYYYYY down. Dangerously down infact that i found a lost river entrance. I took that entrance most of the time since then snd now I've finished the game :d
i’m two years late to the party but this was me😭 two days ago i was snooping around the grand reef and saw the entrance through there and just yesterday i realized i could get to the main part of it there too.
Can you go straight to the bulb zone entrance? It would be good because It seems large so I can fit my cyclops, and im familiar with the bulb zone. Im just scared of reapers.
Other people: getting scared when the ghost Leviathan gets 1 millimeter closer from 5,000 miles away. Me: scanning the Ghost Leviathan while it's trying to eat me and trying to kill it with a thermoblade
