  • Ronnie O'Sullivan won his third Snooker Masters (Masters 2007) title by defeating Ding Junhui 10-3 in the final. With a noticeably partisan crowd, a visibly upset Ding went to shake O'Sullivan's hand after the latter won the 12th frame to go 9-3 in front, apparently believing that the match was over. The two walked arm-in-arm out of the arena. After O'Sullivan clinched the match in the following frame, it later transpired that Ding had indeed believed the match was best-of-17 frames.

Ronnie was "only" a 2-time world champ in 2007 and was already considered the most talented player of all time. Fantastic

His longevity like his achievements like returning to world number 1 at 43 winning the inaugural coral series then winning the world's at 44 for the 6th time in a format he does not enjoy is legendary, his aura and presence is unique nobody like him everything he does makes headlines 😇😇🙏

It was a serious wakeup call for Ding to realize how brutal and unforgiving sport at top level can be.
It was also a wakeup call for the audience and a bit of a scandal the way they behaved towards Ding at the end of the match.
Ronnie, having his own inner demons to fight at times, did really well to console Ding. When the match was over, Ding was in tears, so Ronnie went between him and the photographers and just sternly said "okay, *stop* taking all those pictures!"
