First frame: Robertson's escapes were first class, then the stunning miss. Nice to be able to watching only the most critical bits of a match, thanks to great editing.
Ronnie is my favourite player, but I like Neil Robertson,I have a lot of respect for him and the way he plays snooker,I was so glad when Ronnie, after beating him in a final, said "Never mind the snooker, Neil is the nicest human being on the tour and that apart from Ding, who he is very close, and maybe Liang, there's no other player he would like to share it with" I'm not sure but it may have been Ronnie's 1,000th century, whatever I thought it was a nice touch by Ronnie, and good to see him and Neil being good friends
Frame 3 is some of the best safety/tactical play I have seen on this channel.Another excellent upload from the best snooker channel on RUclips,Cesar Muroya.👍
Just anecdotal: the three previous matches between them were played in ranking events, best of 9, in the QF stage and whoever won the match ended up winning the title (2005 Welsh, 2006 GPrix, 2007 Welsh; the last were the first two Neil titles).
Best snooker channel on RUclips. Good content, good trivia/video notations and the only one that does both of those AND doesn't have an ad every two fucking minutes. Nice one.
Wow, what a great video, produced by you with great care and thoughtfulness. May be -- is -- the best I've seen. Just subscribed. Neil Robertson said recently (last year maybe) that for much of his career he was addicted to playing video games. He said he really regrets it because he feels it kept him from having success he should have had.
Literally blink and you’ll miss him... pot that blue on the 21st frame😂😂😂I looked down for a split second to take a bite of my food and looked up and it disappeared right in front my eyes😂
Great stuff. I find it hard to believe that Neil Robertson has been going at the top flight of snooker for 13 years!! He's 38 - eight years older than Judd - I thought they were alot closer in age!
At the beginning of this video, there’s this: “ ‘I think it’s made snooker a more positive game. In the past, only rarely did players miss deliberately, but sometimes they had not to strive over hard to make a successful escape.’ - Clive Everton on the miss rule -“ I understand everything except “…had not to strive over hard…” Can someone help me understand what he’s saying here? Thank you.
He means that they didn't have to try hard (as players do today) to make a successful escape, because it was not mandatory in the past (although in certain situations the ref asked them to play again).
interesting note.....how many snooker players have had the words...sublime,amazing, gifted, sensational, unbelievable and genius used during a frame? there's only one to my knowledge, and he's still at it.
I love at the middle of the video how it was so obvious to us but just nearly perceptible to the player had he not done it the game would have changed massively, just goes to show. Food for thought.
I could only watch one frame and for all the world it looked like Robertson was handing it to Ronnie every shot and didn't look overly concerned about it
In my understanding of the rules you are not allowed to jump over an interfering ball when trying to hit the object ball, correct me if i’m wrong. You can clearly see on the slowmotion at 4:15 that when Neil is swerving around the pink the cueball jumps and leaves the bed of the table for a split second, due to his elevated cue. Of course very hard to see without slowmotion for the ref, but is this a foul or is he allowed to partially jump over and around the pink in this situation?
They didn't bring in the no-alcohol rule for referees until the following year. Also if one of the coloured ball's spot is covered by a red or the other coloured balls, they use whatever other spot that's closest to it's own. And if there's no spot available, they put it as close as possible to its own spot and the ball that's covering it's spot
Hence Jimmy never won a world title, "I know that for a fact" quoted by Derek Black a Jambo in Restalrig residing and not in Gorgie. Lesson do not win or it will kill you. Be humble if your good at one thing you do, if however you can do more than influence other then yourself most possibly you will survive excess and yourself or as its named ego.
I’m pretty sure if cue ball jumps prior to hitting a red but it does not jump high enough to clear the highest point of an object ball it’s a legal shot :)
😕😕😕😕 Watching sullivan's disrespect against the ref's in snooker I don't watch him anymore....he's got to big headed so he thinks He can do as he wants....also picking his nose and what he does with it ....is sickening
I've said it before but it bears repeating. Your editing is sublime. Thanks for all you post.

Brilliant inspirational snooker. Thank you for showing it, Cesar.

my goodness what a beautiful series of frames and that awesome edit thank you ,,,,,,,
Thanks thejakeakar!
What a nice lad Robertson is - 12-10 down, his opponent only needs one frame, admits a fluke and yet he can still smile. Great sportsman.
Love the class of snooker, and well done Cesar, amazing editing, I mean Director Cesar 😀
brilliant. Robertson is the real Gentleman and plays bravely.

I never knew that!
Awesome snooker by both players there some amazing shots
Bless you Michaela - always
14:36 He DID get the kiss on the black, Terry... he DID get it.
The photo in the video thumbnail looks like it was taken a split second before Ronnie buried a meat cleaver in Neil's skull.
Hahahahahahaha
Robertson is impressive at escaping
always liked neil, great player,no fuss about his style, good solid opponent, you can tell he and ronnie dug in for this match.

Can you always upload? cause your videos are the reason why I’m still sane in quarantine.
Nothing can compete vintage snooker
Frame 21 what a steal from Ronnie that’s insane
Robertson one of the best player to only compete Ronnie ...with great wisdom comes great rivalry ❣️ beside Robertson hairstyle looks like Naruto ❣️😂
UN EXCELENTE PARTIDO
ENTRE DOS GIGANTES
1:03 music to my ears
Hard to think this was 14 years ago
13 but still feels closer to 3
Instinctively put my phone down and started clapping as a reaction to the shot at 4:00.
Great stuff. I find it hard to believe that Neil Robertson has been going at the top flight of snooker for 13 years!! He's 38 - eight years older than Judd - I thought they were alot closer in age!
Just another 'age' thing to consider... Judd is 30 now - Ronnie was 31 in this match... We really do have alot more years of Judd ahead of us...
Eanna Butler sadly
15:45 probably the closest miss I've ever seen
Such a big talent !!!

Ronny is not a snooker player. Ronny is a snooker god who has decided to entertain people with his game. (The Blue...puhh) :-)
Australia had Horace Lindrum, Dennis Taylor.
Remember him?
Amazing video
so how crucial was neils blue miss at the end 🙂
Massive. Probably the match on that blue.
Ronnie god of snooker I sealut you
Great..!!!
Snooker Since 1999 .
Thrilling play - even knowing the outcome from having watched several times before.

23:32 best shot
He didn't play for pot.
Bothe are snooker sniper but Ronnie is littel ahead
Missing that blue is like an Olympian high jumper not being able to jump over a brick
That thumbnail though 😂😂😂😂
Ronnie rules.
They look like manga/anime characters lol
Much better than watching Peter Ebdon. LOL

It is not allowed to jump over any part of an object ball. The shot was legal IMO.
9:25 did someone say corona virus after the missed blue 😂😂
Omg 🤦♂️This match was before covid 19
Ronnie played with causal approach
23:11 green moved then went back😂

I think john higgins beat the winner of this match that year ?
Been as that is what it says in the video...I concur
Nope neither. Higgins beat Selby in the final.
@@Andy-Bodhi yeah i Wonder how i missed that because i was Sure it would be mentioned Like He usually mentions stuff.
@@hystericalwolf yeah In the final he did but I meant In earlier stages after the Neil Ronnie match .
@@nicktrousers yeah, Higgins beat Ronnie in the next round
Can someone explain to me why at the start of the vid the black is on the pink spot?
They didn't bring in the no-alcohol rule for referees until the following year.
Also if one of the coloured ball's spot is covered by a red or the other coloured balls, they use whatever other spot that's closest to it's own. And if there's no spot available, they put it as close as possible to its own spot and the ball that's covering it's spot

@7:19, couldn’t he just play the green slow?
What the helll is the misss rule?
15:53 Ha, ha..."a little bit of a hit".
Rumor has it that Neil likes to pot the brown
4:00 should this be a foul as Robertson has jumped over the pink prior to making contact with the red? One to debate:)
It jumped through the side of it not over .
I don’t think it did jump the pink to be honest. Perhaps an optical illusion. The cue ball barely left the bed of the table
No its not the foul he just swing the ball a little
I’m pretty sure if cue ball jumps prior to hitting a red but it does not jump high enough to clear the highest point of an object ball it’s a legal shot :)
@@felipevalsani936 correct
Who won 2007 world's?
John Higgins.

And what the hell is an evil snooker?
Snookering someone but the snooker is literally impossible and it’s seen as unsportsmanlike cus u can practically win games with them hope I helped

Wasn’t 3:54 technically a foul since the cueball hopped off the table and seemingly over the extreme edge of the pink?
