    Great advice 👍 I can't watch the video though 😕 All the motion is making me feel sick. Not a judgement, just trying to help out. 🙏 Thanks again for the tip.

    If there’s one admittedly inconsequential thing I love about this video, it’s that you said, “the reason being…” and followed it with the reason; not “the reason being is because…” Sorry, the latter is a pet peeve of mine. Everyone, go about your business. 😂

    if ur using 808 samples do not listen to this man about compressing them, ESPECIALLY if it's insert compression. These things are ALREADY LIMITED, EQ'd, CLIPPED, COMPRESSED, ETC... Ur 808 sounds ass? Pick a different sample. I'm serious.
    Also, sometimes, its not the 808 thats bad. Its the KICK. The KICK can be bad. If u have a long 808, a kick with a long tail is gonna ruin your low end. Shorter kicks USUALLY pair better with longer 808s. Likewise, a long kick? You'll USUALLY want an 808 with a shorter tail. When people say "sustain" theyre talkin bout the tails of things. Now I'm talkin sound design but Will didn't get this nitty gritty so I'm doing it for yall.
    You could use parallel compression to beef up low end sounds but he didn't even mention it. tldr parallel compression is making an separate track, sending the original track to the new track, and putting a compressor on the new track. After that, u blend the parallel with the original using the parallel track's fader, or using the output fader in the compressor plugin you use on the parallel track. U could also use parallel saturation/distortion (same setup as parallel compression). You could also use parallel widening (same setup). The only thing I'd feel comfortable putting on an 808 sample as a plugin insert would be saturation and EQ, maybe something like Waves RBass/Max Bass (or the Waves alternative, Denise Bass XXL, and the free alternatives, Airwindows Floor and Airwindows Weight). Nothing else. Everything else in parallel.
    Or you could just get ya stuff mixed by a pro engineer and just stick to making good music, that'll get you to be more sync'able. Even junior engineers with actual skill aren't cheap (250-450 USD), but you'll EASILY make that shit back if you get an Apple placement right?
    Only way ur getting that apple placement is by making good music. Don't spread urself too thin. Yes the gap between u and a dope engineer is massive. These guys been doing it 10+ years minimum. Trust me on this, learned this THE HARD WAY. Had a song mixed by Serge Tsai of Platinum Sound Studios, I had a demo mix that I also self mastered, that took me 3 weeks to make. He made a demo mix of the same song, and he self mastered as well. With just setting levels and basic EQ in SIXTY SECONDS, it sounded LIGHTYEARS better than my entire mix/master.

      Bro I always felt my tracks don't hit like they need too, is it possible to add bass after it's been mixed?? I need the sauce💪🏾

      @django3108 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheCuttyBrown yea but you should fix it in the mix. Or send it to a real mastering engineer with credits and ask for stem mastering since you're struggling with the low end (this is hard if you don't have an ideal studio monitoring setup).
