Good video. I want to install a dip bar to a single stud. Would blocking between studs make a single stud installation good enough without using a stringer? Or is a stringer across multiple studs still a must for a dip bar installation?
Hi, I would install blocking (2x6) between the width of the studs of the walls to allow a strong hold against the finish. Remember a stud is only 1 inch and a half 1' 1/2 thickness by 3 inch and a half 3" 1/2 wide, standing vertically on 16 inches o/c on center. So, in between each side of the studs if truly on 16" o/c then you should have 14" 1/2 of open space on each side. So, yes I would definitely add the blocking for strength.

@@zero450571 the stringer wouldn’t hurt if you just wanted to install it for extra strength. Either way I think it should work.
