    I was a home builder for 7 years in Texas managing over 300 + trades. Frame issues like this were a constant battle. The crews were impressive in speed, but just lacked attention to detail. I’ve had to go back to fix more wavy roofs than I’d like to admit.
    This video is a good reminder of why I left! I started my business as a fence contractor now.

    That is really sad and the worst part is it’s a brand new building and the guys are still sheathing and framing is pathetic

    I set trusses in Florida and sheet too the problem could most likely be the blockers fault for not lining up there block good because when setting the trusses you line it up with the block but if it’s not lined up with the block it was the workers who set the trusses fault for not lining it up. but I also had a problem like that where only two trusses weren’t manufactured right because at the bottom it was plumb and at the top it was down about an inch from the other one

    Another reason why I never do truss jobs. We only stick frame our roofs. I've set trusses string line straight in the ridge and the ends would be hella off. Due to poor truss construction and variations in their construction.

    • @rogerhale6404
      @rogerhale6404 2 года назад +1

      You are exactly right about the truss manufacturing. I have been a builder for 30+ years. I have had a stack of 30 trusses, banded together, laying on the ground together and they all did not line up. Something may have got moved during assembly, who knows. But, even if you line up straight with a string line on the bottom, you can still end up with the crooked ridge. I have sent trusses back before.

    How are you going to fix it?

    • @besfloridaframersanddesignsllc
      @besfloridaframersanddesignsllc  2 года назад +1

      Good question. Thanks for asking. The way to fix it is to first put a dry string line from one end of the roof to the other end of the roof. This will show which rafter ridge point that is not lined with the string line. Once you see the ones out of line to the string line you would then have to take out all the nails on each bottom sides of the rafter seating on the CMU wall or top plate. If the rafter is nailed off, you would have to take out all nails in the plywood and any blocking in between in order to move the rafter on either side.
