For those confused- the madness effect is using the sleep animation for bosses with the madness eyes. I do not know if this is normally in the game but disabled, but the animations do exist for the effect due to the existance of sleep. Makes you wonder how prevalent madness and sleep were in development for almost every enemy and boss to have a unique animation for it, and why its relagated to only about a dozen items in the game as of release.

Meanwhile there’s like 9 Golden Order incantations, a Sacred affinity and a handful of weapons dealing Holy damage in a game where some of the most annoying bosses have massive Holy resistance.
The holy resistance of the fire giant is a joke. Everything is weak to fire for some reason but the one faction obliterated by the order gets 40% resistance. Same with every thing eternal city arguably Maleketh should have less resistance than Radagon so about 70 ohhh and there is Rykard
Astael RNG was really really bad. It's like molesting a bee nest and then shove your head inside the nest. He could have won if he didn't teleport right inside the madness storm

Astel, insulted, just takes free shots at them until making the mistake of walking into several bullets consecutively but for real? I've never seen an enemy walk that slowly towards me, so why aren't they running to bosses?
The entire reason these guys gained Madness was because of Shrabiri's accusations, which was apart of his plan. Due to this, the Golden Order made the Frenzied Merchants we have now.

Wow, Placidusax absolutely destroyed the merchants! That Malenia fight was pretty cool too, I dont think I've ever seen a draw on this channel before. Godfrey was a cool fight as well. Also wow, elden beast actually killed something.

The answer: They modded frenzy to inflict the sleep status animations. Frankly pretty op as some sleeps can last a while. Also lore inaccurate as only Tarnished get frenzied.
The strategy is once they surround and stunlock a boss, they pretty much have the win by keeping the boss in a "stunlock loop", unless the boss has some crazy poise and a big AOE attack to break the loop (see Godfrey).
Kinda tired of the Fire Giant getting cheap wins because his second stage spawns in a completely different position to where the first stage ends, and all the opponents lose aggro and can't find him.

Is it some programming issue or is it maybe based on whether or not he provides an interesting fight? Just curious if there's a reason.
I was not expecting the mod to make bosses susceptible to madness. Wouldve been fun if they dont implement that change as people want to watch how bosses fare against challenges as they really are in the original game. I think that frenzy flame is great not because it gives madness effect, but the damage itself is good. That is if we tarnished are the ones casting them. Idk about these merchants. The trolls in yellough anix hurt against players, but that is only because our hp isnt that great compared to bosses i guess

So I think you Used the sleeping staggered animation and combine it with damage of the madness with frenzy eyes. It would be actually so cool if thinks can get infected by frenzy instead of only tarnished getting infected by it in the DLC
I might just be me but I think it would be kinda funny to see them fight Festering Fingerprint Vyke as them getting mad over his failure to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame.
