Gustav Iden posted a pic or video these last few days and I can't help but think that he watched this interview, and took Jim's advice to the extreme regarding reach...
Great interview and interesting about extending the reach 👍🏻 I’m wondering how science/trend are on the tilt of aerobars, I understand this is individual but is there a general tilt/gradient that you are looking for when bike fitting triathletes to balance between aero and comfort?
Unfortunately for actual aero data there is no "one size fits all" angle. For example, when we tested with Matt Russell in the wind tunnel, certain angles were WORSE than having flat arms, but then ultimately the fastest position of all was maxing out his tilt at 17.5 degrees. So just follow Jim's advice here: reach as far as you can still be comfortable (which will likely involve some amount of tilt), and that position is likely to be fast as well.
Yes they are! You need a small adapter kit to work with the Speed Concept's unusual M4 thread size, which we sell (look for a link in the item description for "SC Adapter Kit").
Nice interview, waiting for more of this, please!
Just bought an Alpha One with Ultimate SL scoops. Really glad I watched this prior to setup!
Awesome Interview

Are the Closed back scoops compatible with the stock 2023 Trek Speed Concept aerobars? If so, what parts do I need to order?
