- 1968 F-250 4wd (Highboy) power steering conversion. I go through how I did a power steering conversion on my truck and how you can do it too. No welding and no cutting the frame. This method of getting power steering has not been documented to completion, until now. All of the parts except the u-joint are parts I got from other trucks, it was a very inexpensive conversion. The conversion will work for F-250 4wd (highboy) of 1967-1972 (bumpside) and 1973-1977.5 (dentside except for 1978 and 1979).
A highboy is a Ford F-250 4wd/4x4 from 1967 to 1977.5.
Nice work! Also did my own power steering conversion. I did the 2002 f350 superduty box I went ahead with the crossover steering
I am trying to do a power steering conversion right now. Would you mind making a video of your front end. I have a 1970 high boy and am doing power steering and axel swap from a 2002 F250
My 71 is set up exactly like yours, I just replaced everything with new powersteering gear box, new pump, new custom steering shaft, and an adjustable offset drag link, that would fit a 77 f250. But the pump squeals at times so I'm looking for one out of a f600 truck!. Great video!.
Sweet, thanks!!
Good info man definitely gonna use some of your ideas.
Looks slick. Cool truck. I like the tuff look of the different colored body panels. The engine bay looks really good. You might want to subscribe to Matt Kubik. He is a bumpside guru.
Thank you!! Yeah I watch some of Matt Kubik vids. My favorite is where he shows the differences between highboys and regular ford trucks.
How about a test drive video?
It’s basically like any vehicle with power steering now. Steering wheel just moves real smooth, effortlessly almost.
Well done
