The Tau codex should at LEAST have had an entry called "Alien Auxiliary" with variable skills and stats. (but 40k isn't fun anymore) Either a Guevesa choice (guardsman profile, but half the squad can take pulse weaponry, all have pistols, close combat and grenades) A Morelian profile (toughness 2 firewarriors, but with BS 3+ and move 8") A Talean profile (Toughness 4, 5+ save, have Kroot weapon choices)
Tau have so many races in their empire. Except for the fact that more than half of them only about a paragraph of lore at most and only a single sentence at least.
Another funfact about the Kroot: they basically don't really understand xenophobia at all to the poiint that a lot of really dark humor's derived in the books where they appear that basically amounts to some of the most fundamentally decent sapient beings in the setting make everyone uncomfortable because for literally every other sentient race in the setting cannibalism or just consumption of sentient beings has some very good reasons not to happen not limited to merely squicking people out, but the Kroot keep trying to offer them a taste of whoever they're eating as a genuine attempt to be friendly even offering to cook it so it's more palatable to non Kroot. The Kroot also view consuming the bodies of their own or friendly fallen with a sort of religious reverence and as a means to keeps friends or even honored enemies alive in a sense. But at the same time they can't eat other Kroot to often or it'll potentially trap them in a form instead of allowing specific Kroot to further evolve. Sometimes it's even implied that Kroot who eat to much of a certain species can in essence become posessed by the psychic remnants of who or what they've eaten and that's part of why this occurs. One specific Tau commander thought so highly of his Kroot allies and came to appreciate their customs so much that after a difficult campaign where many Tau fire caste warriors were killed he actually flat out ordered his Kroot allies to eat him after he'd been severely wounded, purely as a show of appreciation for what they'd accomplished and it's heavily implied as a sort of attempt to quite literally keep a part of himself with Kroot who had become good friends. Really it's just an interesting concept for a culture that games workshop kind of sleeps on as of late.

The Nicassar are described as brightly coloured ursines with incredible telekinetic and telepathic ability. That's right they're literally the care bears.
You can always add existing imperial guard and Demiurg models to your Tau army. We don’t even have Beastman models for the Imperial Guard, that would be a way higher priority than more human and squats models.
Whenever I think of the Brachyura, I think of Experiment 287 (Shortstuff) from Lilo and Stitch. The Brachyura could be really easy to incorporate into the game, without giving them a dedicated unit. Since they're so small, you could just have one perched on the outside of combat suit, fiddling with it. They could be like astromech droids in Star Wars. Then maybe we could get a character mounted on top of a fancy drone.
Not always a huge fan of the Tau, but they are definitely a spot where I look forward to seeing some diverse models, or lore. It actually still pisses me off that, with the Votann being introduced as a Xenos race, and not another faction in lockstep with the Imperium, and basically confirming that they ARE the Demiurg, that Tau can't take a unit, or two, like the Imperium gets Assassins, Inquisitors, and cheap squads of those Agents. I also sometimes wish that a few of the other mentioned, but rarely used, odd space creatures of the lore could show up here. A Lone Operative Lacrymole infiltrator could be really neat, and they don't all have to flop, like DEldar Courts of the Archon did. Oh well.

Tau are basically the 40K version of the covenant. strong enough to exist in the 40k galaxy so long as the really busted stuff doesn't pay to nuch attention to them.
Im hopinjg with the new Kroot Range, GW will wise up and figure out the whole alien coalition idea is one the Tau players can get behind. Dont get me wrong i like my Armored Cores but the auxiliaries can provide a wholoe range of new combat options
I wish GW would make models for some of these. I remember as a kid when Tau were new and I was reading about all the lore about the Empire and the speed at which the Tau was growing. And I remember that the general feeling was that the Tau were going to become the next big threat to the Imperium. I always felt like If the Imperium is the present and the Eldar and Necrons are the historic races which ruled the galaxy long ago, Tyranids represented the future if things went to shit whilst Tau were the future if things also went to shit but in a less gruesome way. Either way, the Imeprium would fall, it just depended if you wanted it to be devoured by giant bugs or incorporated into a giant empire. But GW has never really developed this idea. The Tau Empire feel less like an actual Empire and more like a Tau/Kroot collaboration. There are vespids but they are kinda old now. I thought Leagues of Votaan would have made for a good addition to the Tau instead of being it's own force. And I think having seen some of these race, If they adapted a couple of them, updated the vespids and officially absorbed LoV into the Empire, I could see a future for tau where they get split into 2 armies. Tau and The Empire. Allied in the same way the Guard and Marines make up the Imperium. I think that could be a cool new development for 40K, but i've long argued such a stance and GW don't seem to want to do this. Which is a shame.
These other minor xenos races should be fleshed out. Also, it wouldn't be surprising if some of the alien species thought to have gone extinct during the Great Crusade to be still alive and a member of the Tau Empire - perhaps even under a new name like those of the unknown races of the Tau Empire.
Superb video as always @majorkill. Could you make a video dedicated to the Navigators, the major houses, their politics, relation to the overall Imperium and factions,
Would you happen to know the name of the story where this enemy, I think it was a Tyranid, was on a planet and kept killing the leaders bodyguards but would leave him alive every week? No matter the defenses or the amount of support this enemy would infiltrate, kill everyone except the leader and then leave and it ended up driving the leader insane.
The psychic bears need to be a model for the Tau. It would fill a much needed role on table top. GW what are you doing. And where's my Greater Knarloc and new Vespid models.
Tau are like the federation from star trek or mass effect. Unfortunately while the idealistic Tau think they are in a space opera they are actually in a grimdark hellhole of a galaxy. Time will tell if this federation can become a shining light of order and progress in the galaxy rivaling the eldar or imperium at their heights, or be engulfed by the encroaching chaos, darkness and screeching laughter of mad gods
So much unused potential. This is a premier example of why I call GW stupid instead of merely greedy. All the plastic, digital and printed content that could be wrung out of all of this distinctness that makes the Tau empire a unique faction in a galaxy gone mad. Even just an anthology of all these species sharing a planet would sell big!
This will never happen, but imagine a unification between the Tau and the Leagues of Votann. Maybe the Tau would find some way to cure or at least alleviate the lag that the Votann experience, improving these already impressive STCs..
Something terrifying no one seems to realize is what would happen if Tau figured out ork “diplomacy”. As in point them towards the nearest non Tau war zone. This would suck for the people in said non Tau war zone, further more by pretending that pacifism is contagious and they are pacifists, A ork would never want to be hit a pacifist… But shooting a pacifist is something else, and the Tau exceed in ranged combat… Problem solved(Galaxy partly saved from green boys, now just kill the skeletons, rapists, and roaches)
Wow, humans of the imperium. I bet if you gave them a telephone book they'd also start worshipping it after a while. If you wanna know what a Nicassar looks like, imagine Falkor from the Neverending Story. And BOOOOYS That's a Rak'Gol and not whatever you described at 7:30 !
3:24 Which is dumb because having a warp entity that is on your side is never a bad thing. Especially when there is more powerful warp entities that aren't on your side. 9:13 The fact that there is one peaceful specie in the entire galaxy is the most unbelievable thing there XD Honestly, even if the Tau use mind-control which i hardly believe, i think they are a far better alternative than the Imperium. At least, they aren't overzealous, are sensible to reason and don't kill you just because you're skin isn't blue.
"Greetings annexed human planet. You have the honour of being..." "Xenos scum!" "Ahem, you have the honour of being the snu-snu planet" "Oh well I never liked the Emperor anyway..."

Random invincible insert kinda spooked me
Attempt 47:
What if the Emperor found the Primarchs in order.
JOIN ME ME BROTHERS!!
Most of these species should have their models and tabletop rules, especially the dinos
Could you make a video dedicated to the Navigators, the major houses, their politics, relation to the overall Imperium and factions,
GW needs to start fleshing some of these out, even some art for at least Demiurgs would be handy.
A video of the top ten community made wholesome moments would be great
9:37 did you said Ragdan? Lion is very interested in this…
As goofy as the tau can be portrayed the variety of species in their empire is pretty dope! A ton of opportunities for lore expansion and miniatures
9:00 offreakingcourse the Drukharii use literal children to make clothes...why not?
Day three of asking for a video about if Perturabo is actually a Daemon Prince??
Would you happen to know the name of the story where this enemy, I think it was a Tyranid, was on a planet and kept killing the leaders bodyguards but would leave him alive every week? No matter the defenses or the amount of support this enemy would infiltrate, kill everyone except the leader and then leave and it ended up driving the leader insane.
The vorg is just straight up Leatherback from Pacific Rim with Tau armor 😂
The psychic bears need to be a model for the Tau. It would fill a much needed role on table top. GW what are you doing. And where's my Greater Knarloc and new Vespid models.
"Love Death and Robots vibes." That's a good way of making Storiaverse sound interesting.
I am not a tau player but even I would love to see more xeno's show up in there model line. It be wicked cool
I salute the dude who made Letherback into a Vorg.
Lol they got sentient Hypno-shrooms from PVZ.
I was waiting for the explanation of the image and “Basically they’re just giant floating bears.” 😂
Glad you’re back 👏🏻
Games Workshop needs more lore-writers that’ll write for factions that are not the Imperium of Man and Space Marines.
Every playable race in a Tau army (besides Tau). There’s Kroot and Vespids, then there’s… Kroot, and Vespids, oh and did I mention there’s Kroot?.
Day 49 of asking for a dedicated series of videos detailing in depth the Lion El'Heresy
Warhammer's The Exodite got me intetested in Tau Navy. Please make a video about them, their strategy and battles they fought against Imperium Navy.
would be funny to have a Skaven like race join the Tau.
The Tau have been hard carried by the Votann. So, there's definitely major cross-over
Will you make a video on each legion's best accomplishment/battle/victory? Counting unification wars, crusade and heresy
Finally! More T'au content! Thank you Gue'la!
Right off the bat, Majorkill says something that's likely going to happen in the far future.
My headcanon is that DRG - Deep rock galactic, is set in 40k. Workign for the Tau
Something terrifying no one seems to realize is what would happen if Tau figured out ork “diplomacy”. As in point them towards the nearest non Tau war zone. This would suck for the people in said non Tau war zone, further more by pretending that pacifism is contagious and they are pacifists, A ork would never want to be hit a pacifist… But shooting a pacifist is something else, and the Tau exceed in ranged combat… Problem solved(Galaxy partly saved from green boys, now just kill the skeletons, rapists, and roaches)
huh I didn't know the kroot were forbidden to eat the tyranids. "I'll ingnore that"
Its possible the kroot biology is just incompatible with mutations that make them a hivemind.
@@anvos658 Or just really dangeirous
I just got started on Tau, great timing!!
9:13 The fact that there is one peaceful specie in the entire galaxy is the most unbelievable thing there XD
Honestly, even if the Tau use mind-control which i hardly believe, i think they are a far better alternative than the Imperium. At least, they aren't overzealous, are sensible to reason and don't kill you just because you're skin isn't blue.
To be honest, I love factions that are inclusive and not xenophobic because the opposite would be enough to make a faction fall apart
Hey thanks for giving love to all the factions, even if its to keep the major-snowball rolling
I freakin love the Kroot. Gonna go back and watch your vid on that after this.
Brooo Love Death and Robots are goated af
The tau empire, the Covenant at home
Please do a video about the 8!
When the Covenent of Halo shows up in 40k:
Nicassar for the win! Flat psyker polarbears need more representation
Ancient Human Vocoder: Red Bull gives you wings!
Kroot: No, birdmen give you wings nomnomnomz
"Greetings annexed human planet. You have the honour of being..." "Xenos scum!" "Ahem, you have the honour of being the snu-snu planet" "Oh well I never liked the Emperor anyway..."
I’m kitbashing/printing some alien models for my army to show how diverse they are.
Ordered my first Major Mini! Son of Iron, Barabas Dantioch!
so you say there is space lizardmen as part of tau empire, time to convert some AoS lizardmen to Tau auxiliary units:D
Holy plundering hell I had no clue there were that many races in the Tau Empire lol.
Hell I'd join the Imperium of Man is a $hit life inless you are born ether as Noble or a Rouge Trader or someone of power.
Ps I know more about that lizard race lol
Tau mentioned, i am happy
Can you do space marine vs warframe
Necrons: We aren't racist we hate everyone equally
Majorkill, I'm not sure if you're gonna see this but I've been watching your channel for a long time. Is there any chance you'd revisit/finish the fixing the endtimes series? I loved it so much, I don't know if it'd be as popular today but it was definitely my favorite series of videos from you.
Now I'm intetested in those alien dinosaur race!
