- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Masters of the Universe character "He-Man." From Prince Adam of Eternia living a royal life as the son of King Randor and the human woman become Queen Marlena, the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull giving Adam the ability to transform into the most powerful being in his universe by lifting his Power Sword and quoting "By the power of Grayskull, I have the power," using the same energies to change his timid cat Cringer into the fearless Battle Cat, having the physical strength to contend with beings like Superman as well as being represented within all of the major comic book publishers, defeating villains that threaten the Kingdom of Eternia alongside allies like Teela and Man-At-Arms as well as Orco and his long-lost twin sister She-Ra: Princess of Power, to his never-ending rivalry with his villainous nemesis Skeletor; Let's take a look at this classic action figure / animated series superhero become comic book enigma, and the unbeatably powerful hero that Eternia deserves. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic book and science fiction characters.

Is it really even safe to say that he has super strength? I honestly think his power is more complicated than that. I believe he has the power to affect probability itself around him. In short, he's exactly as strong as he needs to be at any given moment, in that moment, to deal with whatever is confronting him.

As a hardcore Motu fan I really like this idea.
There's no other way to explain his countering a meteor falling into orbit of Eternia by throwing a massive rock at it, from the DAMN GROUND! A feat he performs in the series. The physics of just that one feat alone are astronomically impossible. For one thing; in order to do that, he'd have to exert a similar force to the incoming meteor on the ground to heft that rock to counter it successfully.

Such a question implies there's people who don't know who He-Man is.
You would be surprised. Not everyone lives in a country which imported the toys or have the cartoons.
Even my grandma who lives in a very rural area near the mountain knows He-Man by his looks. She just wasn't sure about the name, All she remembers is she liked that show when she was younger.
We never had this cartoon in my country when I was a child. So I never watched the series. I only knew how He-man looked. This video is the first time I learned he is supposed to be as powerful as Superman. Had literally no idea.
Only got interested cause the trailer for the new series looks super cool.

That's the 2000s reboot. Originally He-Man was a barbarian who was rejected by his tribe, and Skeletor was a demon from a realm of identical skeleton-monster-guys. Even in the 80s toon, Skeletor had formerly been a henchman in the Evil Horde who got stranded in Eternia and then set up on his own.

One of my fondest childhood memories was sitting down after school to watch He-Man, And my father worked a 24 on 24 off schedule. When he was home we would sit down and watch it together. It was our show basically. For two years as a kid this was my favorite time of the day. I still remember that fondly.
As the child of the 80s my he man has to be my all time favorite superhero followed by the Thundercats then teenage mutant ninja turtles the 89 94 xmen cartoons they just made Saturday cartoons remembered priceless 👌

I watched the original he-man cartoon back in 2008 , when i was 6 years here in Brazil. It was a time were they would show a lot of old school cartoons and anime from the 80s and early 2000s, it was fun back in the day

I loved growing up with this series! My Mom watched them with me. At first, she was just being a patient Mom, but she got into the stories, too! They are very well written and try to help guide young kids.

I love how the enemies of He-Man cant tell the difference between him and Prince Adam. Besides the height difference and the muscle difference he has the same face.
And add to that,how friends and family of He-Man can't figure out he's really Prince Adam-despite their having the same face,as you said. It makes everyone in Eternia look stupid but then I guess it's no different with Superman and how it makes people in Metropolis look stupid that people can't figure out Superman is really Clark Kent.

I remember watching He-Man in his own animated series when I was a kid
So going more into Skeletors story a bit, in the canon of the universe, Skeletor was originally a man by the name of Keldor and is actually the older brother of King Randor. Randor stated in a comic that Keldor went out and sought to master the forces of magic but vanished a long time ago (another comic states he was banished but we don't know). However, many years later Keldor and Randor would eventually fight against each other. In the middle of battle Keldor threw a vial of acid towards Randor, but Randor blocked it with a shield accidentally splashing back into Keldor's face causing it to melt. To save his life Keldor summoned Hordak, an ancient being trapped in Despondos, who saved him by turning his face into a floating skull and renamed him Skeletor only if he could free him, but sensing Skeletor wouldn't hold up his end of the deal he trapped his body in a being known as Demo-man who worked maniacally to bring Hordak out of Despondos, but after being beaten by Oo-larr before the portal could be opened Evil-Lynn helped Skeletor regain his memory and some sanity that he had left and ultimately took over Demo-man and absorbing his body causing his power to increase ten-fold.
An elaborate story and entertaining that Skeletor was always getting his ass kicked by his nephew.

I had the toy sword of He-Man as a kid and would run around with it with his quote. The only difference was I used to say it wrong because my Mom convinced me it was "By The Power of Grace God" :)

I remember reading somewhere that he is a strong as he needs to be for whatever particular task he asked perform. He doesn’t have that full strength 24 seven. But as he goes to lift this castle or mountain or whatever, he gains that strength in the moment for that task, still struggling, but strong enough just to accomplish that task..

Wasn't the Masters Of The Universe toyline originally supposed to be a Conan toyline? That would be the reason that He-man was originally a barbarian in the comics that came with the figures.

He-Man ... what good can't be said about this character. I love the way you pointed out that with all the power He-Man was said to have he really preferred to use his mind, integrity and over all good nature to win the day. My brother New Sage I hope you have had and taken the opportunity to stream the original cartoon, I found that the original may seem corny by todays standards but the messages were so great for kids; I have to admit that being on the adult / parent side it is easy to understand what they were trying to say. Fact : in early 80's Mattel wanted to do Conan the barbarian movie toys line.... when they finally saw the movie with Graphic violence, nudity, orgy, alcohol and drug used; they were horrified.... so they transformed the conan the barbarian line into Masters of the universe..... end of the story....

As much as I appreciate this video of He-Man if this is in response to the new Netflix Masters of the Universe then unfortunately this should be about Teela. All that talk about Hila and how she is going to solve the situation after the epic Heman/Skeletor battle makes me sad. The trailer looked awesome however everything leaking and coming out about the storyline doesn't sound good. I fear we will get almost no HeMan but a lot of "Yeah, slay queen..".
