*Update I have been in touch with the Surpass Hobby Online store on Ali Express and they say they have removed the product from the shelves..So it is defective - beware tho do not buy it from resellers as they are still selling on Ali Express!*
I have 3 of these, in asuga and kagama rollers and my mt8 Over 50 packs through the 3 of them, not skipped a beat, fantastic ESC imo Mt8 run on 4s Kagama and asuga, only ran on 6s, and I've got all 3 drenched in the shower when I'm washing them down Ebay uk i got mine from
Wow. This is the 3rd one of those I have seen catch on fire. I wonder if they are just using the old Castle Cremations design? lol So sorry you had to deal with this. Well.... at least it failed before you could break a control arm.
I know there's a lot of amp draw when you blip the throttle and it's getting going from a dead stop, but there should be some overheat protection or thermal cutoff for sure 👍
Thanks for sharing your experience. The first version of the controller was also not recommended. Apparently, they could only be used safely up to 4s. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Somewhat surprisingly, the Rocket motors should be very good.
I have had 3 hobbywing esc fail in last two months 2 brand new quikruns and 1 older sct max10 nor fires just no longer work and its not the switch they come on but dont work and a the 200 amp pro failed 3 months ago not too happy with hobbywing 🤔
I had a quick run fail too mine is flashing green and red light alternatly and wont recognise programming card 😂 all escs are pissing me off right now but at least it didnt catch fire
@johnsorensen5758 god damn i sense another video coming 😂i upped the brakes and the punch, tested it, it worked fine - came to use it the next day and flashing red and green led and unprogrammable
@@HEAT_RC it's going in to an 8 scale rally car, very light so hopefully less load. And to be fair I've not seen anyone else saying they catch fire yet
I have mines paired with a supersonic motor. I haven't had issues with them but it was so much power, that i blew a driveshaft, front and rear diffs on my 1/7 team energy buggy
Tell me about it man they give you false hope for 2 minutes and let you down - nearly burnt up an expensive lipo too melted all the plastic casing on my nice lipo within a few seconds of the whole car going up
Hey man, sorry yeah im good! I've just had some personal things I've had to sort out over the past couple of months and I've been out of country! I will be back soon 😀
@HEAT_RC I'm glad you're doing well. In Germany we've just finished what will probably be our last Bash station this year. Now everything is being cleaned and stored until next season. See you soon, no pressure😉

Didnt they dropped a updated version 2 of the version 2? The new one now has instead of 80amp 90amp I saw.
Thanks For Tuning in! Did i do something wrong? Drop a comment below! 🤟

The V2? Interesting! Are you pairing them with supersonic motors??
@@HEAT_RC
Yes the 160a v2 and yes both corallys have the 4074 supersonic 2050 kv
I've actually took my asuga out today, put 2 6s packs through it
@VictoriaJones-gy8es I had no issues with my other esc when i ran it with the 1780kv supersonic 4992 it was actually really nice combo
@@HEAT_RC Do Rc did a review on one, in a asuga like mine

I hear you on the amp draw, i was hardly going into the throttle tho and three minutes in 😢
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yeah agreed rocket motors are really good! Its a shame about this esc!

what about ztw esc's also what amps do you normally put in or what amps does it come stock with?
I have a ztw but I haven't tried it out yet! 😄 I use a 6s 100c pack - the same pack I use with all my other cars 🙂
@@HEAT_RC 100c is a lie we all know that but what amps esc does it come with stock?
want to see if ztw can handle it
I was looking at them the other day 😮, I’ve just tried a motor and was impressed with it.
Yeah the motors are great! But this ESC has design flaws unfortunately 😢
I have the 60a seems ok so far
Yeah i think this is an issue specific to thw 160a
Thanks for info
Im retracting my previous opinion! 😂
@@HEAT_RC good info to know, because those esc’s were on my radar and I never heard anything terrible about them.
Glad I’m a subscriber
Thanks again
Are they burning out in big rigs or everything?
I spoke to surpass hobby and the product has a fault. They've withdrawn it, more than that I dont want to assume 😊
@@HEAT_RC hopefully they've revised it because I've got one on order. It's coming direct from them.

Yeah I had the same setup with a supersonic motor it was powerful, this however didn't end well! Thanks for tuning in!
That's why I run gas 5th scale 😅
Haha, I think I need to join you 😂
I push my cars way harder there was no reason for that crap esc to catch fire
Agreed thanks Man 👍
