It fried in 5min driving fairly slow on 3s. I returned it and am about to testdrive a hobbywing 8bl150. I have a big Infraction upgrade video up next. Lights, Aero-Kit, Proline belted tires, 5250kv motor, 30 tooth and a few ESC'S tested. So far the Spektrum Firma 120a has best speed 79mph, before it would cut out. On paper 3s should crack 100mph and 4s 130mph. I'm working on a issue I can't tune the 8bl150. So far two program cards that are supposed to work don't work. I'm gonna run it 3s in parking lot just calibrated and stock ESC settings and wrap up the video. I will follow up right away with Part 2 soon as i can tune, then run it harder for max top speed

@ChiefRickyRC thanks for the quick reply, I really was considering that esc because it looked promising. I'm also trying to run the infraction mega brushless, so I can't wait to see what you do!

@ChiefRickyRC Actually I have a question, because now I've learnt that I shouldn't cheap out on an esc. Can I cut cost by buying a cheaper motor? For example: if I buy a max 10 g2 or a max 8 from hw and pair it with a 3670 from surpass or racestars. Would I get a good result, or would it end miserably just like with this esc?

@dimitar.m.7330 good question and yes. Surpass Hobby makes Racestar actually. My very first brushless motor is a Racestar 2845 5900kv and is still great condition in my 979b now it's 4th rc car. I reccomend Surpass hobby and all brushless motors except the cheapest BL versions. Get at least a KK, platinum, or equivalent they have good bearings and durable cans. They make good ESC if you stay in Spec of the ESC, but a Hobbywing and nicer ESC have less chance of catching on fire. You can improve ESC's stress by shorting wires and minimize connections as a good tip when building a system.

A top quality ESC and quality buget motor is a great way to save a few bucks. It will last years and years
