So, I put this out a fews days before Artisan Makes put out his new fly cutter video. I made a joke about fly cutter videos towards the end of my video. I don't think anyone was offended by my joke but I still wanted to say that It definitely wasn't my intention to make light of anyone else's work. At the end of the day, anything people enjoy watching that helps grow the RUclips maker community is great content!
@@artisanmakes The funny part is, watching your video gave me some different considerations and now I might eventually have to make a "my own take" fly cutter video.
Very nice. Both the design and the machining. The Base is a lot of work, but also came out beautiful. PLEASE tell me about the Rotary Table. I've never seen any like it. Thanks. Regards.
great design and manufacture . I don't have vise stop and cant easily attach one to my vice so I will use your drawings to make one Thanks from western Australia
You're kinda right, every hobby machinist channel on RUclips does have a fly cutter video, but they also all have vise stop videos too. Although I do love your one knob for height and length design. Great video. 👍
This video just came up today for me. Had a look at your other videos and subscribed. I really like some of your designs! Great takes on some concepts. For this work stop I love the details. And the single knob angled lock really caught my eye. But I'm not sure about it for a work stop. I made my own similar style work stop a few years ago. But I used separate locks for the vertical post and stop rods. I think I prefer the ability to line up the rod and lock it for angle and height separate from the actual stop rod. No fumbling in 3 dimensions. But the idea of the twin lock feature from one angled knob could be a real game changer for something like an indicator holder where it's not at all uncommon to be sliding things around in 3 dimensions at once. It's certainly a slick idea that I'm going to try to use in SOMETHING fairly soon.
Thank you it is always good when people can admit that they are human and as humans we make mistakes. I'm sure that a lot of people that make videos also make mistakes that they remove when editing the video.
set up your chamfer on the non movable jaw of the vice. then you can mill every piece of material thats that same size in your shop with the same chamfer profile. including all 4 sides of whatever you are working on.
I did it on the movable jaw to get better shots. It was square enough to get the four sides without adjusting the cut, anyway. I do use the fixed jaw side when not filming.

I'd watch you make a fly cutter :)

Excellent work. I particularly like the knob (mistake included). Most machinists would have settled for just a knurl for grip.

thats one hell of a first cut, fair play ..
Very nice work young sir
Great video! Did you make that rotary table yourself? I'd like to know more about it.😃

I love the simplicity of it, would you share any drawing or was this off the whim?
I didn't make drawings but I did CAD it out so I can probably make drawings this weekend. I'll pop back and reply again when they are done.
@@makerunderground i Love to get a copy of that also ty

So smooth! Also, I gotta find me one of those Gonzo Vax nozzles.
The Gonzo nozzle was my own design to get between the ways on my little lathe. I'll print one for you.
@Maker Underground I shoulda known it was something you made. That's very unexpected and kind of you to do!
Dam nice job
Thanks!
Is this your design? I do not recall seeing this style anywhere else on YT. I do like the design 🙂
Yes, just something I thought up. A few other people have asked so I'll be making drawings for this, in case other people want to make one.

. Wow what is it!
What does it do!
Naaaaaaaa it's great' 👍 LOL
😆 ya goofy m8te from Australia
You some kind of machinist or something?
I make tools to make more tools with. I don't know where it ends, man?!
@@makerunderground It doesn't. That's the hobby.
People really need to stop with the tikTok 'music', at least if they want to prevent a lot of people from simply watching their stuff on mute....
The good news is, if you don't like my videos, you don't have to watch them.
